Panatime do some very nice straps. I was going to place an order until I found out it was going to cost more than the price of the strap to send it to the UK !!
I use a spray on silicone oil, give the whole bracelet a good squirt and then wipe off the excess. On the can it says it's: "transparent (ie clear), odourless, non-toxic, water-repelent, economical and lubricates very effectively". I think that ticks all the boxes !
Not something I would wear myself (I'm not a gold watch sort of person) but that bracelet really goes well with the watch - a huge improvement over the leather strap.
Not sure if this is a fake but it smells fishy to me.... http://cgi.ebay.co.u...E:X:RTQ:GB:1123
Picture 4 is not even the same watch (note the different bracelet and I think it's not even a chrono!).
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the sub dial spacing looks wrong and (although difficult to tell at the angle the photo was taken), the He valve looks too low.
This watch, if you could still get this model would only retail for £2400 (going on similar current models) and he is asking just shy of £3000 !
What do you guys think? Gen or fake?
Here you go Mickey, please excuse the quality of the shot, I'm not a very good photographer and I only have a Kodak compact, however, with one of our (very) rare hot sunny days in the UK, today, I took this out in the garden, in full sun :
Hi Mickey
It's early days at the mo and I haven't deliberately tried to scratch the coating. Having said that, it seems fairly robust against general day to day bumps and knocks. The hue is more in the reddy/purple spectrum but it looks very good with a HUGE reduction in reflection from a standard, non coated crystal.
I'm waiting for another crystal to come back for my SMP Chrono and as soon as it gets here, I'll get some photos out.
