  1. I had the Asian 21J version with the white dial and I loved it so much that I decided to sell it and "upgrade" to the Swiss ETA version with AR. It was a big mistake ! The Asian version kept perfect time and everything was tight. The "Swiss" version had a very "rough" movement, the bezel was not smooth and it gained 5 minutes a day - eventually, the crown and stem fell out of the movement !! Both watches came from Silix and I'm waiting for a replacement from Jay. At the end of the day, I should have kept the Asian version - what a great watch (it was !!) The Asian SFSO (from Silix-Prime):
  2. Does this mean there's going to be a new range of "Rambotech" Pams - (God help us !!!!)
  3. I had not "done business" with T before but I recently ordered one of his modded "unbranded" Pam 111's. I have just had to return it for a refund as there was not just one problem with it but about five ! (I won't go into details). From the moment I ordered the watch to the moment I told him I was returning it, T has replied to all my emails promptly and he has promised me a full refund. I thought about "going public" (on RWG !) and posting pictures of the watch to show how bad it was. However, considering all I have read, this will now remain between me and TWP. I guess the fact that you were brave enough to share all your problems with us means you have reached a point where things can only get better - for the sake of your son, wife, friends and family, I sincerely hope so and I wish you all the best for the future. And, you never know, I might even bite the bullet and order another watch from you one day !!
  4. You've summed up the ups and downs of rep collecting - excellent !!
  5. You're absolutely right Ozenuub, I have kept this post in my favourites - Great info for noobs !
  6. Hi Race 1 and welcome to RWG ! Have a look at this thread - it gives some good information when starting out in the crazy world of rep collecting ! http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=488
  7. I have been a Supporter of RWG since Nov '06 and have owned around 30 reps (I've sold a few and currently have over 20). I have read many threads regarding TTK's sales and communications methods and I have read many threads posted by TTK himself. I have seen TTK's photos and admit that I've been seriously tempted to buy a watch from him. Unfortunately I have read so many negative reports that I've decided that I probably won't waste my money on swelling his coffers for fear of receiving a duff watch or worse still - not receiving one at all ! I have read comments (good and bad) about the other "trusted dealers" on this forum but there seem to be so many about TTK (I've always wondered why??) The camps seem to be divided - those that defend him to the hilt and those that seem to hate him with a vengeance due to bad experiences of trying to buy "hand picked", "QC'd" and "not drop shipped" watches.
  8. RWG is my favourite waste of time !!
  9. Sheeeeeit !! And I thought I was having a bad hair day !!!
  10. "The sooner they remove my Siamese twin the better (she's really starting to bug me !!!)"
  11. Cheers for the advice - I might give it a go. I'm not confident about removing the hands without the right tools. Tried it once on an asian movement and was never able to get the second hand to stay on again !! This is what I love about this forum - the knowledge and friendly advice that's always on tap - Cheers guys !!
  12. Many thanks for your advice and info Bazz but the point at which you said "remove the hands" was the point where I'm thinking: "I need the assistance of a watchsmith" !!
  13. I still smile when I those tee shirts announcing Nitro Norri as "The dog's borrocks" !!
  14. That's a great shot ! IMO, the white dials look really good on the Breitlings.
  15. Unfortunately, I cannot get the stem to "engage" with the movement at all now, so it wont set the hands or anything and just falls out of the movement... (maybe it IS terminal, after all !).
  16. Bring it on !!! I just hope JT doesn't suffer the same fate as so many of his Brit predecessors (Hodgeson, Byrne, McGuinness.....)
  17. Mind if I jump in on this thread ? The other day, I noticed a minute metal fragment on the inside of the crystal of my UPO. I took the case back off and removed the movement. I then depressed the small button to release the crown and stem and cleaned the crystal. No problems - until I put it all back together! The stem did not "click" back into the movement and now will not allow me to adjust the time or anything else. The watch is stopped and the stem just pulls straight out of the movement. I also noticed that where the release button WAS, there is now just a hole !! The movement is an ETA 2834-2. Is this terminal ??
  18. WSB is going to be just as interesting !!
  19. I reckon that if someone uses your photos you should view it as the highest form of flattery !! With photos this good, who wouldn't want to copy them ?? !!
  20. Just posted a pic of my 253 with a BOB Marino Calf "Rustica" strap: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?s=&amp...st&p=398319
