  2. Thanks chubbchubb, meanwhile I've found a way which is really easy: -remove the cannon pin from movement -insert the biggest collet into your dremel tool -use the collet to hold the cannon pin -now use your sandpaper of choice (I had some 800 at home) -turn on your dremel and put the tip of the canon pin onto the sandpaper -grind it down until the pin is flat -now remove the cannon pin from the dremel and polish it -finished, you have a flattended and polished cannon pin!!! I'm going to put up some pictures the next time I'm going to do this mod.
  3. Shure it's for an PAM ETA 6497 Cannon Pin, and yes I've done superlume (only to sandwich dials), crownguard pin mod, modded my cases to the pre-V screws.... So I know what and how to do delicate work on watches. I'm just looking for guidance, from some more experienced members than I am. And I want to do this, as this bothers me, you know how anal we rep-fanatics can be thanks Andei
  4. As the title says, which is the best way to flatten and polish a cannon pin. I can't find any tutorial on how to do this. Are you holding the minute wheel with pliers and grinding it, or is there another way? Do you polish it with a dremel tool and compound? How do you get rid of the sharp edges after sanding it down? please enlighten me. thanks in advance Andei

  6. One of those three, can't decide which one .
  7. Hi freddy, a common saying in the "DSLR scene" says: good glass stays, bodies change And I'm sorry to say, but you got one of the worst lenses for the Canon system (according to fredmiranda:). It's a standard kit lense, which are mostly not good. As you have the macro lense already on it's way, I would recommend to try it with this lense and I'm quite shure you will change your mind. sorry for my bad english, but I hope you got it what I meant. Andei
  8. Hi Freddy, I definetely would say, the lens is the problem! As the cheaper lenses tend to soften the picture when they are full open. I'm not shure if you have tried to shoot a pic with the aperture 3 stops down (F9), maybe this will help. greetings Andei
  9. Finally one of my grail watches is almost finished: PAM 195 remaining work to be done: -matt spray the dial -superlume hands -engrave the caseback with my name have a nice weekend everyone Andei

  13. Hi Concepta, it's really easy once you know how to: First change the white balance on your camera to incandescent light. If it looks alright, then you're done, if not here is how to proceed: Open photoshop goto: -Image -Adjustements -Levels -click on the white pipette tool -then choose with the pipette the brightest part in your picture which should be white -click done then your picture should look like this: hope this was helpfull Andei

  17. Have you ever had the problem, that you wanted to mod your PVD CG Pin to sit flush with the Crownguard, but stayed away because there were no paint which is suiting and staying durable on the crownguard pin? Here is the solution: Flaxseedoil or Linoil As I'm coming from a technical school we learned how to make blackened steel (heat it and put it in oil in summary) So I was thinking: Lets do it with common household things! I've read that you are able to blacken steel with Linoil or Flaxseedoil (it's a well known technique for centuries) I gave it a try and it worked like a charm. Here is how I did it: 1. Remove the pin from the CG 2. grind the pin the way you want (there are a lot of tutorials on the board) 3. get some pliers (cause it will get really hot) 4. use a blow torch or anything which will make your pin glow (a lighter is not hot enough) 5. heat the pin up until it glows bright orange 6. dip it into the Linoil or Flaxseedoil 7. repeat this steps as often to get the result you prefer this is how my pin looks now: Hope this helps anyone and excuse my bad grammar greetings Andei
