I've just gone to make myself a coffee at work and suddenly my PO 45mm feels loose on my wrist. I look down and the bracelet has come off (thank god it didn't hit the ground). One pin and pin tube has completely come out and I cannot find it on the floor. I don't have any spares at home so could someone point me in the right direction. I am in the UK so could use Cousins easily. Can I use gen pins/pins tube for the rep bracelet? Please help, I want that PO back on my wrist.

I have got an Orange 42mm and a black 45mm PO. Both are the Ulitmate versions. They appear to have really good quality lume on them, although this point is moot as I have no reps with Superluminova on them. I have read that these watches have the best factory lume on them. I am seriously contemplating having the dials relumed by The Zigmeister with superlume but I wanted opinions on whether it will make a big enough difference to justify the outlay. The current lume looks pretty bright to me, but I have no points of reference. Opinions please would be appreciated.

Great guys, we have the four. I will ask Silix about the correct 1.8mm x 22mm springbars. You might want to investigate as well. I expect that we can get them from Cousins in the UK for peanuts. I will keep you all abreast of the situation and let you know the total price before I pull the trigger.

I've just bought a vintage sub from another member. It is a brand new one from Josh and I am keen to distress it to make it look a little more authentic. Can anyone point me in the direction of any posts (I have looked already) or give me some advice on what to do. I know Enzo is a bit of a vintage/distressing guru, but I wasn't sure if that was just Panerai. Thanks in advance

You won't get a genuine one I'm afraid. Hublot don't make spare boxes. I tried to get a box through a dealer by saying that my boss had had a burglary and they'd stolen the box without the watch. They simply said to contact Hublot in Switzerland and quote them the serial number. The only way you'll do it is if you know someone with a genuine watch. Also if you have seen the genuine box, its a lots of box and I would think pretty expensive to rep.

So i've got my C3 though from the factory and have prepped the dials. I'm only attempting this because you don't have to be exact...at all (thank god) I've got a tiny little vial of C3 - will this be enough for two sandwich dials? My main question is what is the best thing to paint the dial with. An oiler is for more delicate work and I think a fine brush would clog with Lume. I need to do it quite quickly as it seems this stuff dries out very very fast. Anyone done this recently? Please help.

Hey, I know of a guy over on RWI called Fleed. He is based in Spain and his work has been highly recommended. To be honest it doesn't cost much more to send it to The Zigmeister, and for parts the customs issues do not really apply.

So, before I start I have searched the forum and all of The Zigmeister's posts about this and can't find it. It must be so easy and obvious there is not even a post. I have tried and failed to find this myself so here goes. I need to remove my Radiomir crown to have it PVD blasted. I have had a quick look through a loupe but can't see an obvious answer as to how it is attached. Is it screwed in and held with some kind of fixer? I was going to heat the crown to loosen the glue and then hold the stem with some needle nose pliers while twisting the crown off. I am worried its going to snap though so please advise me wise men... Cheers guys (and maybe gals?)

I am thinking about putting together a Panerai Radiomir project at the moment and will have the work done by professionals (coming your way The Zigmeister) I have been thinking about the mechanism and essentially I want something a little bit different to see through the caseback - I guess I am just bored of looking at the standard 6497. I love the reworked mechanisms that Touby does but can't really stretch to $700 however unique and beautiful they are (I am referring to the amazing PVD one he has) Does anyone know of any mechanism that would fit a Radiomir case with a bit of professional jigging? I know that the 6497 is a standard pocket watch mechanism so wondered if there were any other beautiful mechanisms out there that would fit. This is a bit of a newbie question as it involves the techincal knowhow I don't have but I will have it done by a pro and I am sure someone must have thought about replacing the 6497 in a project!!

It's my birthday coming up soon and I want to get my first Rolex rep. I have a large collection of other reps but have never really got into Rolex...until now. I have been dipping into the Rolex forum more and more recently and I can feel the pull starting.... I want something a bit different and would like something that looks like it might have come from 1976 (the year I was born) Can you experts advise me on what is out there for that era. The MBW vintages look fantastic and I would spend top whack for a good one, but they look more like watches from the 1960's I understand (see told you I was new to Rolex) Please help!!

As this is the easiest way to practise DIY lume, I thought I would give it a go. I have some Tritec just arrived and have taken the dials apart. However, removing the old rep lume which doesn't really glow at all is proving trickier than you'd expect. I have spent ages scratching away with a screwdriver - it doesn't want to budge. My question is - Does the old lume really have to be removed, will it make a difference at all? I am tempted to simply lume over the top of it, but as this stuff is the same price as platinum don't want to waste it.

I've spoken to Rbj and unfortunately he said he won't do it as he is fed up with being slated in this forum, so won't do it anymore for people on this forum. I don't know the politics and frankly I don't care - I just want a PVD Radiomir. I've got a couple of contacts now, so thanks for all the help

He's definitely reliable - Watch Gallery in London. They launched Panerai in the UK. I went in pretending I was interested in buying one to get all the details. Maybe he just wanted to flog me an expensive deployment strap!!

I think it is unlikely that we will see this model this year if at all. We haven't even got a rep of the 42mm BR03-92 - only a 39mm fantasy rep, and it doesn't look any closer. Lets face it the 46mm look ridiculous on anyone's wrist, I think the 42mm is the only sensible B&R. The blue and phantom limited editions only come in 46mm size. I would suggest to your friend to do what I am going to do. Buy a PVD B&R rep (39mm or 46mm), then have your friendly lume specialist relume it with black lume (Fleed over on rwi has successfully made up black lume like that on the phantom). As soon as he lets us know how he has done it, I'm going to let The Zigmeister know as I think he is interested in trying out black lume. And there you have it - you'll have your limited edition Phantom.

The only problem is how fragile it is. I've been told by a Panerai dealer that they should be fitted with deployment buckle for extra safety as if it hits the floor or a wall, it'll just smash. Not great if you've just spent $6000 on a watch

We seem to have become very interested in the same thing at the same time. Since I saw the ceramic radiomir, I have been thinking about getting a PVD version. Davidsen does a PVD version which you might be interested in but its not cheap at $380. My plan is to get a Radiomir 8 days from one of the dealers (you can get them for about $110 at the moment), then have the whole lot PVD coated, including the steel around crystal on the see through case back, and the main componants of the mechanism like this one Tourbillon1801 is selling on Ebay (see image). This should cost about $120-$150 Then I'm going to ask The Zigmeister to use black lume for the hands and dial. I want it to look something like this image (please excuse the use of MS Paint - it took 2 mins but you get the idea). Kind of like the new B&R Phantom. It'll look amazing I think.

Does anyone know if the crystal from a see-through caseback on a PAM can be removed and replaced easily? I want to PVD coat one and I think you would probably have to remove the glass first. Any ideas Paneristi's?
