  1. No not at all - It just depends how much you put on, re-lume can be built up so that it will be in relief then cover with the varnish to give the glossy finish.
  2. They also seem to have L Swiss L on the dial but they are at least 47mm
  3. And it's ETA - you can just see the stamp under the balance wheel - nice!! Also the winding gears are much better finished on these new movts (G series as well) and exactly like the gen.
  4. Don't you just love it!!! I have a special affection for Japanese ladies but this one would certainly give you a shock!!!
  5. Re-luming it will do the trick as well as glowing properly!!
  6. That's not one of Honpo's - the lume is different as well as a few other things and Honpo's would not need coating as it already is!! It looks like the makers have sourced the correct datewheel. The Paneristi reference is talking about their ideal fantasy watches which is why the guy is saying he would have a coating on both sides. All the gens I have seen are only coated on the inside although the newer coatings are much more scratch resistant than they were. On all mine I have gone for inside only as that's the way they are!!
  7. Go to a nightclub wearing a PAM and you will stand out for sure!! Super Lume reacts with UV light so rather than charging it up it glows almost like it was radioactive!!
  8. Not the easiest thing to do as the dial would have to be specifically for the 7753.
  9. Rudi, You will NOT be able to fit an ETA Valjoux 7753 movement into this watch. The hole for the date in the dial will be in the wrong place - I know because I have tried it. The only way to convert this watch to a Swiss movt is to use the ETA/Valjoux 7750. The watchmaker will then have to use some of the asian 7750 gears and pinions to make it work. See The Zigmeister's excellent tutorial here: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=1410
  10. That's not actually true. The screw down collar does not make the pusher waterproof, it merely stops you accidentally activating the chrono and running down the power reserve. All the chrono pushers in the rep PAM's are standard type pushers and have an internal O ring to seal them - exactly the same as many gens). Certainly divers watches are likely to have more seals to withstand deeper water but there is no reason why swimming is not possible with a chrono. make sure though that the caseback is svrewed down properly as a lot of reps are delivered with them just hand tight.
  11. The low frquency UV banknote checking lamps will do the job. Find them on the bay for around $40. But all you need is 30 secs under a desk lamp which does the same thing for free!! Remember that Super Luminova's glow is only very bright for the first few minutes - you then really need to be in a very dark room to see it after that, it will not glow brightly for hours and hours.
  12. Here is mine with the early Davidsen dial. This is a sandwich dial that I have filled with lume. The biggest problem with it is the white lettering is not white enough. Davidsens CG's will not fit non Davidsen cases without modification. The screw holes are too small and do not align with the case holes. The pin should be visible. Also the CG has the wrong shape lever and side profile. The Pre-A's CG looks like this from the side: I hope Davidsen would consider re-designing the CG's as they are actually not right at all.
  13. Found this on the bay - pricey but may be worth it?? http://cgi.ebay.com/Swiss-Rolex-Chronomete...1QQcmdZViewItem There are quite a lot of other Rolex bits - crowns and buckles etc. Worth looking through his listings.
  14. This is not a scam - you are not being asked to hand over any money or give credit card details etc. It's a simple mailshot sent out to thousands of people whose email addresses can be purchased for a few bucks on a CD from database companies. Just delete it if you are not wanting to be a Kitchen sales rep!!!
  15. I have had to deal with the loss of several cats over the years - damn it's hard. Sorry to hear your situation.
  16. Davidsens stuff is not always accurate sure - but where else can you go and order up a new dial etc just like that for 40 bucks. Part of the fun with his stuff is that it provides a starting block for custom projects and as such is invaluable. My hat is always off to him as he has more than proved himself a worthy asset to the community.
  17. Yes you have had news and you know very well what is happening. Do not start using threads to ask questions like this.
  18. Pretty close!! Yes he buys a blank in with the correct radius to allow a specific edge thickness at a specific diameter. I have to take the original crystal in to him which he then uses to set up his machine and cuts the new one. I then have to hand finish them to make the curve as they come with a sharp edge where the curve top surface meets the side like this (this is my crystal as it came back form the maker),
  19. And guess what - yours turned out even better!!!
  20. Not sure if they issued this with an L dial but who cares!!! Re-lumed, pin kit, Palp/Pam crown and Jimmy Fu CG with a Strapmasters "Dino Zei" strap with a PVD logo buckle. Check out the caseback - nice eh!!! These numbers (OP6500) were used on several PAM's at the time and the 004 was one of them. Enjoy.
  21. I know why you want to see this: So - what do you think????
  22. Hi Luise - if you are selling a watch you will need to post it in the watches for sale section and include some photos. You might want to introduce yourself in the "New members" section as well!!
  23. I can see why this is not obvious. The crown and stem needs removing from the watch then the crown needs to be unscrewed from the stem. The glue goes into the stem thread hole in the crown then the stem screwed back in place. The glue will then fix the spring in the crown. I must say that for a screw down crown this is not advisable as the spring is there to allow the crown to screw up to the case without stressing either the crown or the movt.
  24. Thanks for all the kind words fellas - bit of an old pic now as the crystal has been rounded off at the edge and the movt is now the beautiful 616 Cort!! The crystal is pressed into the bezel in the same way as a fiddy etc. I think the movt/dial can come out from the back of the watch on this (unlike the fiddy).
  25. Its actually due to a row between LVMH who own Zenith and Richemont who own Panerai. Because of this row LVMH decided to stop supplying panerai with the EP movt hence the switch over to Valjoux.
