  1. The source is very against replicas and has threatened to pull the account of anyone it suspects of using their parts in replica builds. So it's not them I'm concerned about, it's us. One google search and there WILL be no more cases for us...
  2. There is no such thing. And for christ sake, stop talking about it on the open forum! You will put the entire source in jeopardy. Ephry, will you PM me about your build? I'd like to know more about what's in it. Thanks!
  3. Does anyone actually have a phong case they can post pictures of? I'm really curious to know where they stand. The other one you mentioned (I won't say it out loud) needs some major shaping to be accurate but if you want lugholes, it's the way to go...
  4. Those are definitely more like the Sean case. One of my customers has a gen and they're definitely straight like the Sean case.
  5. I made a discovery recently once I had a chance to get a TC and a Sean case side by side: The lug ends are wrong on the TC case. They should be square like the Sean case on cases without lugholes and the tapered style that the TC uses would be correct for a lughole/93150 watch.
  6. I'll try to get some measurements tonight. I'm building a TC super-franken for a member here and I have a Sean case franken that I will compare it to. There is a difference between the two, the TC is good but it's still not perfect. Neither is the Sean case though so it all depends on how anal you want to get!
  7. The sean bezel and retaining ring are smaller then gen and the gen is smaller the the TC so in short, each bezel will fit only it's home retaining ring.
  8. It's a really subtle difference but it's there!
  9. And just for clarification, the TC watchset takes a 2824 and would probably take a 2892 without any issue whatsoever.
  10. AL12, where did you get this watch set from?
  11. NDT isn't worth it? I want the white lume yuki dial but they said they won't be restocking them anytime soon...
  12. Haha, jack away! This is the next road I think I'm going to ramble down and the comex is a strong consideration on my list... You're talking about the NDT dial, right?
  13. Haha, thanks! It's long dead, unfortunately but bits of it live on in my current track car. Also an e30, S50 motor, Gaz coilovers and GIANT wilwood brakes on all four corners... :-)
  14. You need a high quality puller and good crystal press. And a good bit of practice so you don't mess up your case... :-)
  15. Why do you have two threads in the same section for the same topic?
  16. That's what's on my wrist right now!
  17. That looks fantastic! Congrats on a job well done! Sent from my DROID RAZR MAXX
  18. We were splitting hairs a LOOOONG time ago! :-D
  19. I believe the P-series would have had lugholes, a "SWISS MADE" dial and a 93250 from the factory. Perhaps some others in the vicinity would have shipped the same as well. Drilling the case is a great idea but honestly, the TC teeth are still shallower then my early (tritium era) gen bezel so I maintain that swapping it out is the best way to go...
  20. I don't have a 2892, my budget wouldn't allow. :-( I have a 2824 clone in it now but I found a good deal on a high-grade ETA on the bay so that will be going in soon.
  21. It's a 93150 from Angus. The links are great, a few were a little sticky but I took them apart and with a little file work they were great. The endlinks were a bit long but with some Dremel work and a little bending the fit was perfect. The clasp is not that good but it's ok for now. Someday I'll probably replace with with a gen but I'm well over budget on this watch as it is... I just picked up a high-grade 2824 movement so when that arrives I'll be tossing it in and calling it a day for awhile.
  22. I would consider the Sean bracelet a v2.5, having not seen a V3 yet. It's better then the V2 though...
  23. First part: I will tell you next week. Second part, deep teeth. You're more likely to see a gen without lugholes and a deep toothed bezel in the wild. At least in my experience... I'm a tech at a small BMW/Benz/Porsche/Ferrari shop and a few of our customers are gen owners. I only see a few no-lughole subs but they all have deep teeth, even without engraving. All the shallow teeth I see are on earlier subs with tritium dials and 93150 bracelets.
  24. Don't bother trying, it won't even snap on. The bezel is way too big and it just floats around.
