  1. Precisely Mr Moneybags (pun fully intended) I am cashing in on my gens now, keeping the cash in the bank, and playing with reps which cost me substantially less. I never regarded my gens as "money on the wrist" and I bought them because I liked them. My collection went beyond $600k in value at one point and it has been going down since. I am contented to play with reps, and trade them off on a much smaller scale compared with trading my gen watches. Somehow I find it a lot more fun here. Having said that, I would agree that what you posted is logical and theoretically sound, if the worth of watches are measured in terms of pure monetary value. I collect watches as a hobby, from very low cost ones to some costing beyond $100k. I enjoy the rep game, imperfect as they are, and there are some gens in my collection I would not sell. A watch is something I enjoy wearing and glancing at on the wrist. It's highly personal and never for flaunting to another person. I guess there are just some experiences in life which cannot be justified by monetary value alone. Sent from Mars using tapatalk
  2. +1 I find myself entrenched deeper and deeper in the rep game, and covertly selling off my gens one at a time.
  3. Looks like a happy combination, congrats!
  4. Scandal I reckon? Politicians (naturally) Sent from Mars using tapatalk
  5. Thank you kindly. To be honest, I like the look of the subdial with 4 markers instead of 3. I have seen this subdial type on a genuine carbon fiber dial (ceramic casing) too. For a long time, the guys on the forums, including me, always used this as a tell that a Big Bang is rep. I was really glad when I learnt that it is not the case. However, I still do not know which Big Bangs have the 3 or 4 subdial markers.. It could be from a batch, or specific to some models. The number of similar Big Bang models produced by Hublot makes it difficult to track this. I am no Hublot expert though. Perhaps someone with more knowledge from me would care to chime in.
  6. Beautiful watch, congrats! One thing I learnt recently from my friend Martijn (@Martijn), is that some of the genuine Big Bang DO have 4 subdivision markers on the 6o'clock subdial instead of 3. I have always thought that the 4 markers on the rep subdial@6 is a tell, but I was wrong. I have since also seen 2-3 genuine big bangs with 4 subdivision markers on that subdial. I guess we all learn something new everyday.
  7. Much like the "LAUNCH" button is Kim Jong Un's.
  8. Hello newbie, welcome to RWG. And I am actually quite amused that "Toro" the bull must be the most commonly misspelled dealer names around. But yes, to answer your question, Toro is a trusted dealer here. There are several dealers to choose from, so pick one which you are comfortable with.
  9. Nice 507! This is "the other bronzo" which is not as famous as the 382 of Expendables fame.. Does it have a working power reserve? Looks nice.
