acceptable behavior from one of our trusted collectors?
Corgi replied to deltatahoe's topic in General Discussion
It's funny because it's true. He does... write.... like that... -
It definitely looks like an athletes' watch. And that's not a complement. Indeed, its fun to see what celebrities and world leaders choose to strap onto their royal wrists. I'm still trying to find out what Canada's Prime Minister - Steven Harper - wears.

I received my first Pan with a few speckles of dust under the glass... dissapointing but certainly no reason for a return. You're not picky, but rather just accustomed to 'getting the best possible item for your money'. You have to understand this is not like buying from a conventional store where everything is neat and perfect and made by robots; there will be problems, and while I certainly agree that better quality control should be implemented to reduce cases like yours, I have to go ahead and just say 'deal with it' on this issue. Other members have had other problems, you're definitely not alone... besides, finding a flawless rep is nearly impossible, most have some microscopic defect within them visible only through careful examination.... ..while sitting on the can and gazing at your watch for hours! Just enjoy it, no biggie Corgi

Looks like someone has very particular tastes in timepieces huh?

I don't ever plan to get rid of my reps... they stay with me for life. The thing about me is that I don't impulse-buy; all of my purchases are careful and completed after serious deliberation - yes, even on $98 reps. I am yet to buy a timepiece that dissapoints me, and right now I have many many... It's almost unthinkable how someone can sell their entire collection and not keep even one...

I betcha Josh wears a Timex or something like it... You gotta stay inconspicuous!

I only wish my 1930s Patek was worth thousands as well Sadly it just tells the time....... oh well

I really wanted a reliable chronograph with 3-6-9 dial configuration that could substitute for a Daytona which I constantly lusted after. Unfortunately, the constant worry of having a defective Daytona arrive at my doorstop influenced me to look elsewhere. My choice here was purely based on movement reliability instead of what I truly wanted - but the risky decision payed off, big time. The Breitling Navitimer took the helm, and exceeded my expectations in absolutely every department. Accuracy, appearance, quality of build - all are very respectable. The funny thing is, after owning it, I no longer want a Daytona - and instead another Breitling! This is surprising to me, because I really didn't think it could out-do the 'bling factor' of the TT daytona I wanted. All I can say is that it's mirror-like finish is so shiny, that on a sunny day, it glows like a beautiful horological orb. Let the pictures speak for themselves. I bought the piece from Joshua, and it is perfect in every way. If you are looking for a Breitling, I would definitely recommend him!

This watch is cool. But it's a quartz... not for me!

You guys have some lovely watches. This gorgeous piece of 'bling' arrived at my doorstep just days ago. Aside from the bracelet which was nearly impossible to re-size, it is one of the most attractive clocks I've ever had on my dainty wrist. I absolutely love it - nice and heavy, very solid and precise build quality, clasp feels precise and it's definitely an 'early super rep' in my book What do you think?

I think I win in terms of age... 1930s Patek Philippe - Totally genuine except for minute hand which was replaced years ago:

Why dealer pre-serviced watches aren't possible
Corgi replied to Rolexman's topic in General Discussion
That's a really inspiring story... I don't even want to think about what it would feel like if I lost both of my arms... but he lived it and bravely continued to serve his craft. This is a young man who suffered a tremendous tragedy and instead of moaning, complaining or 'taking the easy ways out' he developed a unique talent that could become very fruitful to him once perfected. I definitely would not mind him working on any one of my timepieces. -
I'm pretty sure Joshua will check your watches personally if you are a repeat customer and ask super nicely. He did for me.

where has all the real discussion gone?
Corgi replied to thewightstuff's topic in General Discussion
Nobody is forcing you to be here. Don't like it? Leave... it's that simple, my friend. Start up your own forum if you like... -
Omega Seamaster Professional Chronometer. Got it from Joshua on a discount for just 208$. It keeps perfect time and is perfect in appearance. I never got it serviced, either! High prices? Maybe for the new clocks... but be patient, when they get out of style, you'll pick them up just like I did my Omega. And she's a beaut!!

Daytona with el primero movement with white face and stainless steel or tt I dont have one, but if I were to chose just one chrono rep, that would be it. For price sake lets say SMP chrono - its perfect 1:1 so of course!!
-
First of all... I dont know if I would ever buy a watch from TTK... but since you trust him then go for it. Lots of people use Western Union and it seems to work out well, at least Ive never heard of any complains about them... On an unrelated note, am I just looking at it wrong or is the 6:00 marker on your president completely off-kilter? Is it just the picture or what?
-
I'm very excited.... I just purchased 2 reps from Wo-mart
Corgi replied to cableguy's topic in General Discussion
Let the addiction begin! For me, it started with a full gold president (come on! I was a newbie!) and I thought to myself... I will wear it until it dies in lets say ten years... then I will get another... well, I quickly had to invest in some watch boxes because I couldn't help myself buy more, more, and more!!!! Good for you!!! -
Do you tell people at work that you are wearing reps?
Corgi replied to Jawo's topic in General Discussion
I always answer misleading so as to not reveal it is a rep, but not directly admit it as genuine. -
Yes but,... the 3-6-9 version is so much more beautiful and symmetrical! Let me see if I remember some, don't laugh: Twoja dziewczyna ma ladny zegarek, ale ten inny - big bang - to prawdziwe gumowe paskustwo! ;-)
-
That watch is cool. Good for you.
-
You'd have to be a real dunce to believe that. And people do. I shouldn't sound so proud myself, though, I was very close to paying hundreds upon hundreds of dollars for one of their "Grade 1 swiss made" watches...
-
I don't like IWC watches all that much... but I'm glad to see I'm not the only one paying special attention to the timepieces actors wear in various films!
-
How bad does it have to be before you return it?
Corgi replied to flamemax's topic in General Discussion
For each of those problem alone I would not send it back, but for all of them together I would. Snap a few pictures, contact your dealer, and I'm sure everything will turn out fine. -
Hi, I'm just curious if there is anyone here from Ottawa - I'm sure there must be at least one person, not just myself...
