  1. Thanks to Ronb for the link: http://rolex.watchprosite.com/show-nblog.post/ti-481641/
  2. The old version is much better. As Dudemeister said the dial is nearly perfect.
  3. Beauties, guys! Wearing my Fish today.
  4. My first stainless steel Sub was the "King CN version". Watcher compared it to the gen in the old RWG and it was a real popular post. As a newbie I barely saw the flaws... it was almost perfect. These days people would laugh at that rep. BigRedJoe and Palpatine were kings of the modding game. We had our own official "Turd polishers" in both Europe and the States. Times have changed indeed.
  5. Wearing my perfect blue today (Sunday).
  6. @Chronus: For me the most important games in MAME are the Atari vector games: Star Wars, Gravitar, Space Duel, Tempest, Quantum and The Empire Strikes back. For some reason the vector games really stroke me when I was a kid. Those games still look great because the graphics weren't "striking" but 100% practical. Damn this was an insanely amazing game (and still is). Too bad the yoke controller for MAME is too expensive.
  7. Hey Davey, long time no see! I just sold your old SMP rep recently (after 4+ years) and bought this. PS: Go for Precious Time (UK). He has always been a very reliable dealer.
  8. I had the Noob YM which was pretty damn nice... but just like Dluddy I simply decided that YM is not a watch for me. However, the WM9 version is so good that it almost makes me reconsider. What a beauty!
  9. The spacing on the seconds at '6 rep is correct. However the subdial rings might be larger on this white gold model. But technically the spacing is accurate.
  10. The biggest difference is that gen is made of white gold. Thus, the weight is very different. The rest... rehaut, etc. are the same issues as in other Daytona reps. Read more.

    1675 love

What? Are you letting your 1675 go? That watch is so "you". Look me in the eye son... are you on drugs?
  12. For some reason that "white gold" YMII isn't as horrible and tacky as the yellow gold version.
  13. For a GMT fanatic/purist like me that watch is... well... you know...
  14. Hmm... there's something weird on that dial... can't put my finger on it. It's ok if the AD can verify the authenticity. Or perhaps you'd like to trade? This is older Daytona with El Primero movement. That's why the subdial spacing is different.
  15. Good luck for your recovery Lani. The muscle memory is there... it'll be relatively quick transformation back to normal. Wearing this beauty today.
  16. I have this Daytona for sale a bit under the list price. Here's your chance. Only $6000. Contact me via pm... only serious buyers please! No tire kickers!
  17. Now that's quite a wife. I wish I'd get birthday presents like that. Congrats for the classic!
  18. Well. 3 so far: Rep Seamaster Bond -> gen Rep Aquaracer chrono -> gen Rep 16710 GMT Master II -> gen Next is probably the Steelfish (if I find a good deal). I would never buy a gen Sub because unlike the fantastic 3185 (which no rep can ever duplicate), the basic 3135 movement isn't anything special. It's a robust, great movement of course but functionally it's just like basic ETA. And besides, the WM9 rep is too good... at least for someone who isn't overly obsessive. However, that same argument could be used with the SFSO, but it's only a $1.4 watch preowned. And as much as I love the classic Sub SFSO is my favorite diver watch. It's just so perfect in every way. To answer the question: Yes... reps have been a "gate drug" to gens. But unlike what happens to most people... after buying gens I started to appreciate the reps even more. The best ones are fine watches and wearing rep or gen... doesn't make any difference to me.
  19. Awesome, different collection. And really refreshing to see one that doesn't have the same Rolex, Omega, TAG, Breitling stuff that boring people like me have.
