Yes, the SELs have been attached with two screws from both sides. I doubt there is a spring at all... so no, I don't think a standard strap would fit. However, there is a version of this watch with a rubber strap. Perhaps that would be the correct one for you?

My gen K-series GMT has lugholes and SELs. Beautiful watch, and definitely genuine. I agree that the bezel "dome" looks weird from the side but it's just the picture I think.

I really love my SMP Chrono. One of the definite keepers in my collection, and probably the last one I'd ever trade. Yeah, the bracelet quality isn't quite as good as on the old ETA SMP which is brilliant... but other than that... super accurate rep. Weird that mine came with the ETA font straight out of the box (from the very first batch ever). PS: Oiling helps with the bracelet "feel" on this rep as well.

I did? Glad you like it. Now do yourself a favor and oil the bracelet with sewing machine oil... or ANY oil. Pour it over the middle links and let the oil stay there overnight. Use lots of oil. Then rinse under water in the morning and the bracelet feels almost exactly like the gen one. Lack of oil is one of the main factors of the "flimsy" and cheap feeling. The only major issues with this rep are the thick GMT hand and oversized crown. You can change those later if they start to bother you. But the case, dial and overall appearance are very close... a fine replica indeed. Congrats for this great piece!

The 16710 prices on Ebay have increased all the time, but the "error dial" versions which have two "sticks" instead of II on GMT MASTER II <-> GMT MASTER || cost a ton these days. They're asking over $8K for those now. http://tinyurl.com/create.php I think Rolex has made significant amount of these watches and I doubt they'll be highly collectible. But of course you never know... the sellers of these watches just seem to be very optimistic. The prices are insane...

Yes, people are too sensitive and overreact to almost everything. In my country two little boys (aged 6-8-something) ran away from home and somehow ended up on the motorway (yeah, don't ask how) where the speed limit is 120 km/h. Unfortunately the other one of the boys got hit by a car and died. Then the mother was crying on the local newspaper that "Why didn't anyone pick up the boys and took them away from the dangerous road"? But these days, who would pick up kids into their cars anymore? You're immediately a pedophile... or at least a "suspected pedophile" in people's eyes... although in reality only like what... 1 out of 100.000 people are pedophiles? It's completely sick... the media is forcing all kinds of sick garbage into people's throats and making them hysterical. It's the same here in Europe... not only a US thing. Where is this world going?

Thanks man. I love it... I need another Link too. PS: Your GMT hand has been set wrong. It points at circa: 15:04 (3:04 pm) when the local time is 1:53. On the WHS it's not automatically in sync but you have to set it manually.

Once again, Ziggy's article only dealt with the correct hand stack modification, not the movement. Ask from ANY veteran members how many problems they have had with their ETA GMT wrong hand stack modifications, and I bet you can't find many. This is one of the myths that simply doesn't go away, does it? It's the correct hand stack unnatural modification that causes the problems, not ETA 2836-2 wrong hand stack version, which only has ONE extra gear to move the GMT hand. Just like the seconds at '6 7750 unnatural modification is problematic... the standard new 7750 is at least a "semi-decent" movement. The Asian WHS movement in the new ceramic CHS has a bad reputation. But that has nothing to do with the good old WHS ETA 2836-2. But of course, we can't be 100% sure that the dealers are actually shipping genuine ETAs anymore. The old ones were good, that much is certain. My new GMT IIc winds like a genuine ETA and sounds like one... and works like one (i.e perfectly). PS: Very nice Link btw. Wanna write a review of if for the TAG Guide?

But the original issue WAS the clown feet. You said that "only the quartz versions have them". Then I posted pics of 3 automatics that have them as well. Now you're saying that I'm misrepresenting a rep as a genuine watch. And the watch in the picture is still a genuine midsize Seamaster, which doesn't have lume on the right side of the date. The watch belongs to a guy that I know. Here's a factory photo: I don't know why you're still doubting my words, pretending to know it all... and giving me these "lectures". All I can say that I've done my homework regarding the SMP... and apparently you haven't. Thanks.

I suggest you do some research. That watch belongs to Reto Castellazi and it's definitely genuine. The older genuine automatic SMPs have the "clown feet" as well. See here. So do the Electric Blue and black SMP.

I don't think it's wise for Omega to make so many different models. I mean, what's up with all those cheesy "Special Editions" of the SMP and PO? Stupid... the original Bond Seamaster is the coolest (without any 007 markings)... same with the PO. It's pretty silly to push those special editions, because Bond only wears the basic models in the movies anyway. Omega is a great brand, but they shouldn't go overboard with these variations. Keep it simple stupids!
