  1. Somehow, I've "rediscovered" this outstanding rep again. Been wearing it almost every day lately.
  2. Great photos and stunning watches!!! Not sure about the diamond bezel on the Evo though.
  3. This is such a powerful, powerful song. The ending is awesome.
  4. No biggie, I moved this to "watch repair and upgrade". You might want to try TomHighway. He's in the UK and has a thread "Watch repair and Service" in his section. Good luck, and welcome to the forums! http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showforum=207
  5. Like I said, no biggie. It was more like a general observation, not specially directed at you. I think there are still about 1000 purely PAM-related posts in the "General Discussion" that I should move. It's beyond me why people can't post them to the correct section, which is called "The Panerai Area". Using the "General Discussion" is ok if people want to talk about multiple models at the same time... like "Should I choose TAG or Rolex?" Keeping the posts in the correct subforums helps searching the forum tremendously. The worst thing that other forums have is the separate "Eyecandy" section, which is just a useless duplicate that screws up the whole search function. PS: About the watch... very bad pic. But I think it's gen... the SEL looks good.
  6. Guys, please stop posting this kind of posts to the "General Discussion". We have brand-specific subforums for Rolex Panerai TAG Heuer Audemars Piguet Omega Breitling etc. And it's not just this post, I've moved hundreds of these. It's not a big deal, but moving them constantly to the correct areas gets a bit tiresome. It can't be that hard to post a Rolex-related post to the Rolex Area, right? Sorry for nagging about it... carry on! Thanks!
  7. Black reflector card/object work well with if the watches have black, matte bezels, but it can also reduce the lighting on the dial... and generally using all kinds of dark objects to block reflections reduces the overall lighting, and can kill things like bracelet brushing details, strap leather details, etc. And when you have a polished steel bezel (like the watch in the following picture), the card will cause more reflections on that area. Getting noise free pictures requires some planning. Usually everything is fixed with proper lighting setup. I usually have one lamp shooting from the angled front view, straight to the dial... not directly, but THROUGH the white lightbox wall. There's nothing technically wrong with this photo, but the dial is reflecting badly from your lightbox "floor" surface. (Same problem with all of the photos). The reflection at '3 o'clock shows where the "floor" of your box ends. Placing the watch a bit higher (on top of some kind of small box, for example) fixes this problem. The rehaut has red/magenta saturated noise. The noise comes from a bit insufficient lighting, and the red color most likely comes from your hand, shirt, etc. Block it off! Use the preview window of your camera. If the box is properly lit, and the room is dark you won't need any reflector cards (when you aim the camera correctly). Other than these details, good work!
  8. Factories probably aren't going to make these anymore, because members won't buy them due to wrong subdial spacing. The Omega caliber 3303 has a tight spacing and it's impossible to replicate with the only available replica chrono movement (w/date), Asian 7750. The whole membership was begging for them to replicate the PO chono, but when it came out, they started to complain about the spacing immediately... like it was as a surprise or something. Same issue with this watch, and all watches in the Speedmaster line (except the date version). I've never been anal about the spacing issue, but 95% of the membership is. That's why we'll probably never see high end reps of certain watches.
  9. Brilliant! One thing that people rarely discuss are the SELs. There should be no gaps between the SEL and lugs... most reps aren't exact enough in that department, but the SELs fit really well on the Euromariner.
  10. Real thing? The watch in the picture is a rep. Oh yes, I reviewed it. Actually one reason I took this photo was that I wanted to replace one old (bad) review shot. Read it here
  11. Uh huh... my eyes!! Looks like someone found the contrast setting!
  12. Thanks Gentlemen! It's not a new watch, just my old Fish that I've owned for quite a while now. Haven't had much time to take watch photos lately... I set up my livingroom studio today (the one that my girlfriend really HATES). I try to shoot a few other watch photos later. Thanks again.
  13. Nice Skyland man!!! Breitling for me as well... today (and yesterday too): One of the true "Super Reps", the legendary SFSO.
  14. It'd be interesting to know how many factories are making the top reps. The "Noob factory" makes all the best Rolex replicas (the legendary old ExpII, new GMT IIc) and then there's the factory that puts out the TAGs... those have been astronomically good. Dunno which factory made the 2xAR SFSO but that's still one of the most impressive reps I've seen. It still has the "holy sh*t" factor whenever I put it on. SELs fit exactly, the bracelet is outstanding, etc. Those who have been around longer shouldn't compare the prices to the ETA reps that we had in 2005. I'm not saying that all the prices are reasonable... far from it. For example the new Grand Carrera: I would have bought the watch, but for $400... no way. I'd rather get a preowned 40mm gen Aquaracer Date chrono for $1K... or even $900 if I get lucky. But I agree with Robbie. For the ETA SFSO $300 is a fair price. As a watch, the SFSO runs circles around the gens at the same price tag (Invictas and all that garbage). Robbie owns many very expensive gens, so I believe he has pretty good perspective to compare them to. This, of course, has nothing to do with this topic itself. It's just a side note.
  15. What exactly makes this watch so special that $475 is a "fantastic deal"? I'm not saying it isn't, but please educate me. To me, $475 is still hell of a lot money for a rep... especially with potentially bad movement (modification secs at '12).
  16. No big deal. I think the rep might be too thick. How much, I don't know... and I don't know if it's noticeable. Someone mentioned that the movement used in the gens is way thinner. Anyway... the price tag ($400) is a bit greasy, don't you think?
  17. Moved to the TAG area. Please post to correct subforums! Thanks.
  18. Surprising it's 44mm. It doesn't look that big on your wrist. Please post more pics.
  19. Brilliant collection as usual Richard! But I think you shouldn't have sold the closed factory Electric Blue!
  20. We think it's important to keep any discussions open, even the "unpleasant" and delicate topics. But... if this thread degenerates into a pissing contest, we'll close it. When a thread starts moving to the wrong direction, it can make friends turn to enemies, and will hurt the community and its spirit. It's our job to watch that this doesn't happen. So... Please keep it civil! No personal attacks, and no bashing of other forums! We have a great respect to RepGeeks and we constantly co-operate with both RG and RWI (mainly to protect the members from scammers). This forum co-operation benefits everyone and good relationship between all forums is something that I'm very happy about... and it's also something that we all should aim for! You have to understand that the different admin teams have different approach of how to handle certain things. Things are not black and white, there's also shades of grey. Thanks guys.
  21. Thanks for the pics Capice, it looks absolutely amazing! What's the size? Does it wear big, and is the AR apparent on the white dial?
  22. This is great news! Please post LOTS of pictures and a wrist shot!!!
