It seems that you didn't understand my post at all. Or didn't want to understand. I don't get your hysterical outburst... apparently you read my reply like Satan would read the Bible.

If you could only have one Breitling rep
By-Tor replied to archierocks's topic in The Breitling Area
@Dave: v2 BCE was better. v3 had perfect date but green chewing gum-like hour markers. When I saw the gen, it killed that rep for me forever. It's simply not one of those watches that you can rep very well. It gets "close" like the Fish but the dial and bracelet details make a world of difference. Skyland is much better forgery, imho... I've seen the gen and v2 with treated bracelet compares very well. People have always complained about the Skyland hour markers but you can barely see them with naked eye (unless they're from very bad example). BCE sloppy hour markers are HUGE. BCE w/ gen dial + v2 + v3/Lello dw... THEN we're talking. -
That first picture is great.. TT Sub is such a great watch. But whenever I've had one, I always think it's just too much for me.

I think it's like official weight lifting / bodybuilding forum. You can't talk steroids in certain places... that's why everyone go to other places to discuss them. 99% of the competitive elite uses steroids. That's just ridiculous... same thing with watches... just like gen forum members have lots of reps. They're calling them "lowly fakes" on TRF but at the same time they're here obsessing about the newest Subs' crown guards. That's why I don't go to places like TRF... lots of wankers, and besides the true knowledge is HERE. But then again I totally understand that reps should be kept away from gen forums... I just don't like the pretentious, double faced people.

Check this out guys... what a SICK player. He completed Gravitar 2x. It's considered one of the hardest Atari games ever... if not the hardest.

Truth is never outdated.

This beauty today.

Looks like v1, the original "Super Sub". Great watch, even by today's standards.

Ok, who wants to start updating the replica guides?
By-Tor replied to By-Tor's topic in General Discussion
Thanks guys, it's appreciated. The one who maintains them must have a lot of knowledge about the current releases. That's the whole idea of those guides... to advice and help new users. Ideal situation would be to get someone who's really passionate about the brand, like Importr = Breitling. -
Long time no see. I haven't had much time to spend on the forum, or the Internet generally. I'm pretty much clueless of what has happened in the rep scene in the last 1.5-2 years and all my old Omega/TAG/Breitling Guides are grossly outdated. I feel bad about it. Too many things happened to me lately... bought a house, got a son who's now two years old, lots of work, etc. The usual blues... Who wants to take full responsibility for them and update them... and maintain them as well? Unfortunately I don't have time for that anymore. That doesn't mean I don't have time to be on the forums. Au contrary, I hope I can now visit here regularly. I just don't have it what it takes anymore... the knowledge. I have no idea what has been released lately... all I know that those guides used to be helpful... but they're not helpful if they only contain outdated information. Thanks in advance. BT

Just found this on Ebay. Dunno if it's a good price or not. Just in case anyone's interested. http://www.ebay.co.u...=item2c62fa9671

One thing that's also wrong on the new rep Fish is the lume color. It's ugly green uncharged, while the gen lume is pure white. Also the bracelet SELs should be a bit recessed between the lugs. Rep SELs are sloppy. The rep is a great representation of this watch but still... go for the gen. It's superior in every aspect and it's one of the nicest watches money can buy. And it's not even expensive for what it offers.

If you could only have one Breitling rep
By-Tor replied to archierocks's topic in The Breitling Area
I have only one Breitling rep left, and Skyland v2 takes the cake. -
Aquaracer today.

That's beautiful Nanuq... but where is the bracelet?

Looks genuine to me. That's the reduced version alright.

It's a taste thing mostly, isn't it? And I said recently, not in the last 10 years. 1. Omega makes way too many "Special Editions" and "Limited Editions". I agree about PO though, it's a nice watch. 2. All maxi dial Rolexes have been downgrades visually, imho. I would never trade a 16610 to a 116610. The new Sub is a visual downgrade... they butchered it with the new trendy & fat design... it was perfect for over 40 years... and replacing the classic Dweller with that ugly thing DSSD was a blasphemy. That's an ugly big thing... built-in radio is the only thing missing from that monster. The new GMT Master II is simply boring... no Pepsi option. Yacht-Master II is absolutely hideous. DateJust size increase was nice though. 3. Breitling's new model range isn't appealing to me. B01 is okay but the rest... hmm... I thought their Basel 2011-range got a terrible reception here as well. Way too much bling. I understand TAG's cheesy advertising annoys people. I also understand that people think TAG is a bit "annoying".... just like the Porsche snobs never liked the 944, although the turbo version was able to outperform almost the entire 911 line. It never got the respect because "it wasn't a real Porsche". TAG's biggest sin is probably that "it's not the real Rolex" but the poor man's version... but neither is Breitling to the general public... no matter how much people here love the brand. Image things aside, I'm puzzled how people can instantly tell the quality differences between these watches without some kind of scientific approach. You know... like putting the cases and bracelets through extreme stress... water pressure, different temperatures, etc. Statements like "belown the Rolex/Breitling quality" are interesting because I don't see any data or visual evidence to back these claims up. I don't see any difference in finish and details, and if there's any I would put TAG's dial print ahead of Breitling (and you need huge macro shots to see it). I've handled the new Link Calibre 16 chronograph and it was absolutely stunning... double AR, display back, that lovely Link bracelet with amazing brushing... although there was nothing wrong with the new Breitling B01, either. Watches have been my hobby for my entire life and I can't see how my Breitling is supposedly "superior" to my TAG Heuer... Both watches run pretty accurate, near the COSC standards, etc. and have been 100% functional and trouble free. I've heard of some horror stories about bad "Monday watches" from both manufacturers though. Rolexes have inhouse movements and I understand (somewhat) that it places the brand to another category... image wise... and unlike Invicta, Citizen, Seiko, TAG & Breitling they do NOT gold plate their "18K gold" two-tone bracelets. I agree that's CHEAP. Dunno about Omega... Omega and Breitling have also made embarrassing models, ran after the trends and dropped the ball somewhere down the line... And anyone can see the difference between Invicta/Alpha and the real watches... I'm not denying that... but how the bulk, mass produced Swiss ETA (quality) watches like 'Ling and TAG Heuer could dramatically differ from eachother? I'm talking about the high end TAG Heuers, the automatic lineup only... not the overpriced old quartz watches. In my opinion, a lot of this "educated WIS talk" in the watch forums is simply nonsense, and the preferences and opinions are rather affected by hearsay, emotion, marketing and image than actual facts. PS: You know the old story when someone was bragging about how his Rolex "never missed a minute" in the last 30 years. Well guess what, neither did my Timex.

Just post pics of your watch here and we'll determine whether it's genuine or not. No problem.

I'm a TAG fan. Aquaracer & Link Chronographs have always been very desirable to me. TAG has made the most attrative looking watch models lately... while Breitling, Rolex and Omega has mostly downgraded their model range, TAG has continued to make good looking new watches.

Correction: It was CARZY sale. (sic)
-
Haha... you're hardcore. Stock v2 + v1 SELs is still good enough for me.
-
Yes... the BTR rep had absolutely FANTASTIC bracelet. But best rep bracelet ever, imho, is the TAG Heuer Link one. Very gen-like, very high quality.
-
The Noob version was a "million monkeys" thing. Almost WM9 quality. It was a fantastic rep, and the crystal/rehaut combo was 99% like gen. Too bad they stopped producing it.
