  1. I had the GMTIIc rep Review. It's a good and solid rep, but not great. Gen bezel is completely different (shiny and brownish), the engraving is bad and the crystal construction isn't equal. WM9 Sub and Yacht-Master are in the league of their own. From the current ones available, I'd go for bklm1234's TW Sub. It's much better rep than GMTIIc.
  2. Ebel for Wed.
  3. Looking good. And you're right... you need more light. And that red (that's reflecting from the bezel) is coming from your hand. Use a tripod or get rid of the red noise with PS lasso -> saturation option. I use 4 lamps. One on the top (of the lightbox), one on the right, one on the left, one on the back (not absolutely necessary). Change the height and angle of these lamps until you find a good balance. Good luck, you're doing fine!
  4. These were done before bk started to offer them... but the base watches are the same.
  5. Thanks man. People say Skyland isn't a "big watch". That's crazy... I think it's a HUGE and thick watch. SA... well that's just grotesque. You need at least 7.5 wrist to Skyland look good. Just imho.
  6. Skyland.
  7. Yes, 10.000 topics on the Rolex Area. That's a notable number for sure. They're not all "reviews" though.
  8. +1 Wouldn't be the first Noobmariner on the gen forums.
  9. Actually there is a gen white Skyland: There's no rep of it though.
  10. 1911.
  11. Copied & pasted from this article. Rolex Explorer II CN version correct hand stack white Easily forgettable. Maybe the worst and the most disappointing rep I have owned. There is nothing good to say about this POS. The CHS movement stopped a few times every hour (seconds hand got stuck) and the horrible light grey hour markers truly pissed me off. Fortunately the good dealer agreed to take it back. Good riddance. BEWARE: Some dealers still offer this piece of junk... I wouldn't take one for free.
  12. @TJ: Thanks man. Taste thing of course, but I always thought Aquaracer chrono (in blue) is one of the best looking watches. That's why I bought it anyway.
  13. Brilliant! I'm wearing this old favorite.
  14. Looking forward to the pics.
  15. I wouldn't trade our current watches to old reps, either. That wasn't the point. I'm sure it wasn't the bad replications that made us "happier". The point was that we should think more ideas to keep things interesting and entertaining. A lot of us older members are happily standing pat with our collections... the hunt is over. So that means we're not the "creative force" anymore. Someone said that we could use some new blood. I totally agree. Redwatch and Freddy have been very good additions to the admin team. Maybe we should shake things up a bit more?
  16. Thanks for the reminder... I had already forgotten about Idealwatches. One of the first scam sites... ironically it's still up. http://idealwatches.com/ Even good old Replica Center is still kicking: http://replicacenter.com/ Unbelievable.
  17. Yeah that 1,5 hours sounds ridiculous. Did they swim there or what? I'm sure the Norwegian police will have something to explain.
  18. Yes I know. But I doubt kids that young have any strong political views... how could they? When you're 14 you live with your parents and don't know much about real adult life. Most of those kids have probably joined because their friends were there. Like boy scouts/girl scouts, etc. Just a hobby and place to gather. Edit: This is straight from the guy's "manifest". What a complete psycho indeed.
  19. I usually stay away from these debates but as a Scandinavian guy this hit too close to home. No punishment is big enough for this scumbag. They should torture this guy to slow death... like 2 years or so. Just imagine the horror and pain of the parents. Yes, 14-17 year olds are still children. I can't imagine anything worse in life, than hearing about your son's/daughter's violent death. I don't get it by the way... if this guy was so much against the Norwegian immigration politics (it's true that it has a lot of things wrong all around the Europe... and this über-liberal and naivé approach increases racism tremendously), why didn't he direct his hate against the politicians... why he had to shoot innocent kids? This doesn't make any sense. Shooting unarmed children... what a coward indeed.
  20. I'm not a vintage expert but I recognize genuine Tudor/Rolex Sub crown guards when I see them. This one has fake looking fat and ugly cg's.
  21. @Andy: Thanks man. I appreciate your compliments.
  22. I was thinking about the "wok" too, but I thought it was just the picture and how it has been photographed... from weird angles, camera positioned very close to the watch. Crown guards look exactly the same, crown looks the same, same rehaut thickness, dial is the same and the bracelet clasp too. Perhaps the crystal is different then? I'd be surprised if they made two different variations of the same rep. It's possible of course. Edit: I was wrong, the clasp is different... coronet engraving is bad. Hmm... Here's my old WM9 v1 (with modified cg's)
  23. You described my "problem" here perfectly. I have all the watches I want. So what's next? Perhaps the problem is that people always want something particular... but when they get it, it doesn't bring them satisfaction anyway. Maybe the main motivation behind collecting anything is greediness? We always want something more. And when you have everything how can you demand more? We could even expand this to life in general. Does this sound Zen-Buddhist or what?
  24. Ironically, most of my brand guides are still 95% relevant. Many "best versions" are years old, or even out of production. Plus there haven't been many interesting new watch models (rep or gen). Perhaps that's one reason why things seem to be a bit boring. It's quite difficult to get excited about anything Breitling or Rolex have put out recently. I've been planning to update the guides but haven't managed to do so. Mostly because I haven't followed the newest replica models that much. That's where I could use some members' help. Importr already promised to take a look at the Breitling Guide.
