  1. Congrats! That rep is bound to become a classic. Too bad it's out of production.
  2. I don't know guys... I replied and she sent me this picture. I wonder if I should respond... decisions, decisions...
  3. I thought that was the only way to use ANY forum that you frequent. There are people who don't use it? Amazing.
  4. Banned & flagged as spammer, and topics merged.
  5. Any old Genesis is good music. Seconds Out live album is my fav. Almost all the best songs in one record. New Collins-era Genesis is mostly sh*te but it had its moments. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-F-medRWGA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1_YTMNQ0OCs
  6. This is one of the most amazing prog rock songs ever recorded. And so few people who have ever heard of this great English cult band. Camel: Lady Fantasy.
  7. It's just a standard Rolex box. The newest ones came with the new style of box, and the older ones have the older box. GMT booklet, Rolex hang tag, etc. Older one looks like this.
  8. Ditto. BOTH of my brothers dated an Italian girl. That was pretty amazing coincidence... both were great girls with great families... I made lots of Italian friends. The only problem was that they were just too far from Scandinavia (mentally and geographically).
  9. I doubt it. But is it really worth it? I had the rep and gen side by side and the bezel on the rep didn't strike out at all. It looked good.
  10. Bad Company's old albums. Isn't Electricland an awesome song? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nfFInc7mzNM
  11. Sorry guys... haven't been around much lately. I'm selling my apartment and buying a house. Been very busy. So busy that I haven't had time to even change my watch. Been wearing this for the last 2 days.
  12. ...and you know, Italian girls... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u6YkqTzCGew
  13. It might work at TZ because of the overall volume is very high. But I've been to several gen forums over the years. Many have the main Rolex forum and the separate vintage Rolex forum. The result: Vintage subforum is a ghost town. Personally, I think it's counterproductive and useless to separate any brand forum. It would definitely reduce the thread views and attention of the vintages. There's absolutely no doubt about it... we've seen it happening with all the other sub-subforums that we have created. Members wanted them SO much but they're dead as a rock. Ziggy's amazing watch movement articles are a good example... they were buried way too deep in the "subforum tree" and went virtually unnoticed. And eventually people wouldn't even post to the vintage side because they'd quickly notice that their thread gets more replies and views in the general side of the Rolex forum. Making the forum more complicated and deepening the subforum structure does NOT work positively. Trust me on this. Lots of things work well in principle but not in practice. Just my 2c.
  14. That might be true in the US, but in the Europe you don't see that many fakes. I have seen people wearing lots of nice watches and not one single fake in years. Yes, including Rolexes. Red Dwellers and vintage Daytonas are different but standard steel Rolex is nothing special. Almost any working adult can afford one if he really wants to. I mean, who says you have to be rich or even wealthy to wear a lousy $4K watch? Not our membership that's for sure... based on the "What do you drive" thread most of our members drive Porsche, Mercedes and Aston Martin.
  15. Hands down the Navitimer Fighters (all brushed).
  16. Check the review. LINK. There is a wristshot or two.
  17. To each their own, but IMHO that blue white gold model is an ugly watch (rep and gen). Generally I love blue dials but that's very unattractive blue. I would go for the black SS version.
  18. Oh yeah... almost forgot this. I didn't have any idea who Nelly Furtado was but my wife listens to her. She's covering Rush's Time Stand Still (great song btw). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JfrXM_gDl9g
  19. Ronin... this is for you man. Some pics from the Time Machine tour. http://store.arrowsmith-images.ca/Rush Lerxst is probably playing "I think I'm going bald".
  20. Good post. Some people simply get much worse playing cards than others. One of my friends had great work & career & family and he had just bought a new house from a nice suburban area. Then one day all of a sudden his left leg went limb... he went to see a doctor. Diagnose: Brain cancer. At 42. It's his second cancer... his first one was a thyroid cancer at 25. And the ironic thing is, these two cancers aren't related at all. This is one of the nicest & most decent guys you can find. A really good friend. I have tried to keep in touch with him but he doesn't respond to my phone calls and messages. I have no idea about his condition right now and I wouldn't want to call his wife... maybe they could think it'd be some sort of invasion of their privacy in this terrible situation. When we're young and healthy we take everything for granted. But unfortunately you never know when your (or your family members') turn comes. That's life... in the long run we're all dead. It's pretty friggin' sad when you think about it.
  21. That is very sweet. I saw a preview of this beauty privately and I honestly thought it was gen. It's that good. Congrats my friend... it's pieces like this that makes this hobby priceless.
  22. Thanks for the opinions guys. I like the 911, a great car indeed... but it's a lot like the Rolex Submariner... a great classic but also very obvious choice. 911 is very garish and a car that screams attention... "PLEASE NOTICE ME!" That's not for me so I've ruled out the 911 and its newer variants. Both 928 and 968 are less common and more understated. And if you take the 928 and 911 from the same era, 928 will outperform it in every way. People simply don't know how great car it is... 928 is appreciated mainly by the car enthusiasts while 911 would be every Bubba and Luke's first choice. Maybe this is true for all Porsches, but you know... And besides, the new 911 variants have amazing performance numbers but I don't like the new rear at all. The 1993 model is the last good looking one.
  23. Congrats! Just make sure that they will NOT touch the dial. If they "refurbish" it, the value of your nice 1680 will go down the drain.
