Too low? You mean the vertical crown position? Nope, not on this model. The wrong hand stack version is 98% exact, the CHS version is 100% spot on.

Grow the f*ck up Dani, and spare us with this tough guy bs. There's way too much of that these days, especially among the kids. Been working as a bouncer for over 15 years and I've seen enough sad endings for the young "MMA experts", biker guys and "ultimate street combat fighters". Testified many of these incidents (some had knives and firearms involved) in the court too... in my SPARE TIME. And guess what... none of these fights had winners. None. It's all a total waste of time, community resources and taxpayer's money. You wanna know what's a real tough guy? It's someone who handles his bills, family, parents and friends, and behaves nicely and respects other people. It has nothing to do with fighting skills or benching huge numbers. When you get older you'll eventually realize it too. Nice tattoo btw.

It's interesting how there are different types of twinlock for ExpII/GMTII. Other (that was used in the older models) is a bit rounder and has more apparent threads/cuts (similar as BK's crown) and the other one that newer GMTs and ExpIIs use is flatter from both sides.
-
Honestly, I have no idea. I only remember it's a 6mm twinlock.

Great rep indeed, but gen crown is a must!
-
Must be different there in the States. 90% of the nice watches that I see in Europe (at least here in Scandinavia) are gens. I've never seen anyone wearing a high end rep. At least I haven't spotted one from anyone's wrist.

I'm with TeeJay today. Nothing beats the Pepsi.

Cool. I doubt it's real white gold that's used in the plating though (see Jfreeman's comment in the review). But it can be something else... something that resembles the color and appearance. It'd be interesting to see it pictured with a standard stainless steel watch.

Be aware that there's only one half-decent replica model of the GMTIIc. This one. I mean exactly this one... not some half-assed "Asian version with Swiss specs" bs that some shady dealers advertise. The best version comes from one particular factory and it's easily recognizable from the non-symmetric rehaut engraving. Most of our dealers can source it. Happy hunting!

@Teddy Boy: Thanks for the compliments. White gold plating? Interesting, but why not... actually that kind of plating would make perfect sense. Do you have photos of your rep? Would like to see it. Cheers!

Old school Breitling Chrono Avenger franken!
By-Tor replied to Mickey Padge's topic in The Breitling Area
That's such a beauty MP. This is one of the models that never attracted me before but now I'm a fan. PS: How is your collection like these days? -
Maybe it survived from a house fire?

Thanks man. Funny thing is, I'm a big fan of gold watches. But most of them are dressy and smallish, and I think that they wouldn't look good on me. I don't like to dress up that often and wear lots of sporty clothes. Gold watch with that kind of clothing style wouldn't look that good. Gold isn't fashionable right now, but perfect balanced collection needs one TT/gold piece. Maybe one day I'll find something that I could comfortably wear. Thanks again.

Which one is better for modding? BCE v2 or v3?
By-Tor replied to cougaree's topic in The Breitling Area
I'm sure that v2 and v3 come from the same factory. It's the same one that makes those great TAGs, according to PT. For some reason they downgraded the lume (and possibly the bracelet) and upgraded the dw when they made v3. Other than the lume, dial is exactly similar in v2 and v3... same error with the short minute ticks (v4 has this corrected). Pretty much the same thing they did with the Fish. They made the lume greener and "pimplier" but improved the application. I never had the initial v2 in my hands but I'd like to review it for the community and then "flip" the watch. If someone has the original graphite v2 for sale in EU I'd like to buy one. I want to see if the bracelet is really that much better than v3. -
Which one is better for modding? BCE v2 or v3?
By-Tor replied to cougaree's topic in The Breitling Area
Yes I know. I don't care if he calls it v7... it's not v2. It's a v3 as we know it. Did you read my review, which explains it throughly? Original v2 is a different watch with different bracelet and hasn't been on production for quite a while. I would go for the Arabic numerals version v3. If BCE has a weak link, it's the lume sticks. They have better (whiter) color on v2 though. v4 (Joshua's v3) doesn't look too bad, either... just stay away from the sticks dial, I'm not impressed with the sticks on reps. -

v2 with updated datewheel = v3. The original v2 is long gone, dealers don't sell it anymore. Joshua's v3 is actually v4. Check this. -
Early Saturday morning here. Wearing one of my alltime favs today.

Gen Breitling two-tone watches not using solid gold?
By-Tor replied to By-Tor's topic in The Breitling Area
Yeah I find that really surprising, in a negative way. With their pricing they should definitely be solid. What next? We'll find out that they're actually using Asian ETAs? -
Hey Gran, congrats... you finally got it! Looks great! @Hacr: That DDII looks cool... any wristies yet? I'm wearing my GMT right now. Actually I just put it on my wrist.

Modifying the watches is much easier for the North American-based members. For some perverse reason we Europeans don't have a watchsmith like Ziggy, AR guy like Chief, etc. etc. Sending the watches across the ocean for mods is a major no-no. We EU guys can have very strict customs too (save the UK). Because I don't have the skills, I much rather buy the gen straight away than go through all the stress. PO is not an expensive watch preowned. Great watch but I prefer the Steelfish all the way over it. @amptor: Not all people who have big wrists are fat. They can be just, well... big. There's a big difference. But I agree... regardless of the wrist size 45mm UPO is clumsy and not great looking watch at all.

Andreas, check the Breitling Guide. There is a link to Bazz's review of his "Banana" Seawolf.

That's some sort of enchanced brochure picture, not accurate representation of the watch. Who knows what editing has been done... Skyland has brushed tabs.

+1 Blue double AR is synonymous with Planet Ocean. Does it make ANY sense to build a good rep and then leave the most essential, most characteristic visual feature out?
-
This is amazing man... just amazing! This is how the rep factories should build their models too... consult with our membership.

...but not surprising. I think TAG and Omega also use "wrapped" gold in their TT models. http://www.breitlingsource.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=18443
