I tried fitting a gen gasket with a rep crystal and it was way to big, I ended up chipping the crystal

Love the strap zk looks real nice but I do have to agree with bigj as i to prefer the metal straps but still looks nice buddy

Well done buddy ! It's a great achievement in modding your watch yourself! If your like me you probably didn't know the first thing about taking watches apart, what keyless works are how to fit a tube and crown that shouldn't fit ect and have leaned and modded a watch withing weeks/months of owning it. Even though you had moment when you were thinking to yourself.....why am I even trying to do this! You got through it..... Now all you have to do is wear it and enjoy Edit: oh yeah where's the pics!!!! It's all about the pics!

I tried for at least an hour on my insert and then I broke it, I would like to think I could fit it but can't afford to break another insert especially a brand new one. I'm no pro but the date mag looks nice buddy.

Definitely get gen dial, the lume is out of this world!!! You can see it glowing in daylight

Is the retaining ring the ring that holds the crystal and bezel all in place? If so when I tried removing my bezel I popped the whole lot off! I got in a panic and just pressed it all back on with my press and now my date mags out of alignment. Really don't want to try removing it all again incase I damage something. Going to send it to someone to sort out for me and fit insert.

Nice review buddy! A franken project is great when you buy gen parts cheap of great guys on the forum cheers again bud! I wouldn't have personally put gen dial hands ect in my upo if I had to pay full whack for them, like you say you can get carried away buying all the gen parts and rack up a massive bill, you'd be better off putting money away in the bank every month and buy a gen. It's deffinatly all about the lume!! It is amazing! I don't know why but it's deffinatly the best mod on the rep, if I didn't buy a gen dial I would deffinatly get a re lume on the rep dial and hands I think as the look of the dials gen vs rep are very close. Personally I love my franken upo because i built it and 6 months ago a didn't even know the first thing about movements,keyless works ect and can only thank you guys and rwg
