  1. Anyone know the stem size or inner crown tube size of a PAM 192 with venus copy or segul movement? 0.9mm or 1.2mm?
  2. Need one too for my PAM 27. I am interested if your price is reasonable...

  4. You can get a rep crystal to fit a jimmy case perfectly, but you need a jimmy bezel and a jimmy teflon retaining crystal ring that originally came with his crystals. The ring that comes with the rep can not hold the crystal to the case. Because of its thinness the crystal will simply fall out if you hold the watch upside down. The jimmy teflon retaining ring is much ticker the the one that comes with the rep. I used a jimmy teflon ring, bezel and case with a rep crystal. They fit to perfection, but you need a crystal press and allot of patience, nerve and skill to press the crystal straight down. It takes allot of pressure, my watchsmith chickend out on a previous 111H project because he was afraid of smashing the crystal... So I did it myself this time... Result perfection.... Here is an example of a jimmy configuration with rep crystal... Also for the other readers an example of a jimmy case with jimmy crown guard and palp crown...
  5. I the beginning it was very difficult to screw in lug screws but after a few sprays of wd40 on the lug and a couple of tightens and loosens they work sound. Maybe you have the incorrect lugscrews for jimmy's case. I know jimmy did sell lugscrews in the past, you could always drop jimmy an email if he has some lugscrews for sale that fit his case.
  6. First of all thanks for all the compliments! Well this project started out as a single jimmy crown guard. It was announced on the board that jimmy crown guards where sold out. A few days afterwards a member posted a secondhand jimmy CG for sale, which I purchased. Soon after that I purchased a palp crown, and decided that I would build a PAM from the best available parts, which lead me to the rest of the jimmy parts (case, bezel, caseback, crystal teflon ring etc). Jimmy does not supply crystals anymore and the ones he sold in the past where mineral, so I decided to go for the standard rep crystal which is genuine sapphire 3.5mm thick (same hight as the gen). For the movement I chose a genuine swiss 6497-1 simply because I prefer Swiss movements to Asian movements, and I would always have the option to replace the clear case back with a PAM02B closed caseback, turning the watch into a 2B. For the dial I chose the 112G dial, I had build a 111H in the past but could not live with the dial, the crooked of centered L SWISS MADE L and the large text on the dial just turened me of with every glance to the face, so I decided to go for the 112G dial. The 112G dial is accurate and well made imo. Had the dial relumed by vaccum which did an excellent job! All parts where gathered over a period over about 1.5 years, there was no rush behind this project. Purchases where all adhoc spead out over longer periods, so the did not hurt me financially at all. Had allot of fun sourcing parts and assembling the watch, and wearing the watch gives me a certain pride that I as an armature modder pulled it together. I did not keep track of the total costs of the project, but I will try a provide an accurate summary of the costs. Jimmy CG (90$) (No longer available) Jimmy (Case 30$) Jimmy (Bezel 23$) Jimmy (Caseback 30$) Jimmy teflon crystal ring. (free) (No longer available) Palp crown (75$) (Rep case + Crystal) + Dial (130$) eBay seller (helenarou) hands (15$) Relume dial + hands (..... contact vaccum for details) eBay seller secondhand gen ETA 6497-1 Movement (45$) High cannon pinion (10$) Total costs exclusive relume where about 460$... Not bad in my books... Also due to the cheap dollar... Happy modding all...
  7. Ingredients: Jimmyzfu case Jimmyzfu crown guard Jimmyzfu bezel Jimmyzfu caseback Palp crown Standard rep sapphire crystal Standard rep 112g dial (superlumed by vaccum) eBay hands (superlumed by vaccum) eBay genuine swiss eta 6497-1 movement Genuine Panerai gator strap All work was done by myself except the dial and hands relume that was done by vaccum. Had allot of fun searching for parts and assembling the watch... Work done: -pressed crystal. -flattened and polished high cannon pinion. -installed high cannon pinion. -shaved minute hand canon pinion tube. (sent hands & dial for relume with vaccum) -assembled dial, hands, movement -cut stem to size, fitted crown to stem, -flattend and polished CG pin to sit flush with crown guard. -assembled CG and sized CG lever to fit with palp crown. -assembled the rest of the watch... PS: I do not provide services for others.... If you want you watches modded please there are several professional modders on the board... Also I know the movement and caseback are esthetically not accurate, but I like the genuine Swiss ETA's 6497-1's better then the esthetically more accurate Asian (6497 copy) brothers.
  8. By the looks of it guess I must be some sort of chick repellent device so that when you are with your mates in Vegas wearing it you will scare all the chicks away. That way she can sleep tight knowing there is no chance of you fooling around on your vacation... Just kidding Wear it well...
  9. Nice watch... very nice watch... but that movement just blows my mind...
  10. Excellent advice at no cost, forget this ordeal and treat yourself to a nice watch!
  11. What the heck can Hublot do to bunch of rep sellers located in China? The Chinese will just laugh Hublot in the face, the Chinese don't care for copyright's, licenses or intellectual property...
  12. Impressive review! Now I hope they make a Mare Nostrum using this movement...
  13. Love the 27... One of the best PAM's to date...
  14. I think one of our collectors is not going to be a very happy man, with this announcement...
  15. They look like light scratches intead of dings. You should try a pen eraser before you start using a Ti refinishing pen, you will be surprised how easy it is to remove or at least soften scratches on Ti.
  16. Hi Lello, It would be terrific if pamman, the dial maker and yourself could make this happen. I would defiantly be down for a Pre 2A dial. Please put me on the list I am very interested! Here's a few examples of the gen...
  17. Panerai's where made for divers, under water time is critical. The crown guard was also designed to protect something from moving the crown and so altering the time while under water. The large luminous numerals where designed or ultimate readability for example while under water.
  18. The date font looks to be a standard ETA 2892 date font, the gen date numerals are also much thicker. I recall that there was a board member that managed to source and mount a genuine PAM 27-c handset on a rep PAM27, this could be it?
  19. Hi Guys, Been busy the last few months sourcing and building a PAM from aftermarket an rep parts. See the results up until now. Parts: jimmy case jimmy bezel jimmy caseback jimmy cg palp crown 3.5mm genuine sapphire crystal. standard rep 112g dial (to be relumed) Also have a high cannon pinion that I have flattened a polished the top off the cannon pinion to make it look more like the gens. Going to put a standard undecorated swiss ETA 6497-1 movement in it. [ attacment=14860:f6c9_1.JPG] Anyway the dial is off for reluming soon, I initially wanted to make a PAM002A and have the dial and hands tritium look lumed, but I am in doubt now. I am not sure to build a PAM 2A or an PAM 112g. I really love the tritium look of the PAM 2A, but can't find a decent T SWISS T dial. If I have the dial relumed with tritium look the L SWISS L would be an obvious flaw. The other choice is to have the dial relumed with luminova and create an acurate but less desirable 112g. Should I go for a more exclusive but flawed 2A or go for the common but more accurate 112g? PS: I am looking for the following parts to complete : - Movement clamps and movement (clamp) screws for ETA 6497-1 - Beveled gears for ETA 6497-1 If you have any of these parts laying around and want to part with them please let me know!
