  1. 7750 movements are uni-directional winding automatic movements, so when the rotor turns one way it is winding up the movement/mainspring, because of the resistance of winding up the mainspring etc, no rotor spinning occours hence no noise. When the rotor moves the other direction there is little resistance thus the rotor spins freely that results in rotor wobble noise. This behavior is to specification and should not be remedy by attempting to tighten the rotor or greasing up the bearings. My advice leave the movement as is. As Lanikai stated the Swiss is said to be more silent then the Asia 7750, but never the less produces rotor wobble/spin noise.
  2. The lastest pics look excellent, congrats on the results. Tritech Super Luminova glows once charged. When in the dark the strength of the lume dies down significantly say the first 1/2 hour, and reduces to almost no lume power in a peroid of about 5 hours. The longevity of the SL properties is said to be permanent. Tritium is lightly radio active and does not need a source of light to enable it to emit light. So if you would like to test if your hands have been tritium lumed, store the watch in the dark and check out the lume in say 12 hours or much longer, if the hands are glowing and the dial is dead, then your hands are highly likely tritium. Tritium has a radioactive half life of 12,5 year, so in other words its radioactive properties halven in a period of 12,5 years. Further more you should beware with touching tritium objects/dials/hands or inhaling tritium dust particles, doing so could be hazardous for your health.
  3. Lovely piece, but to be honest I am also not a fan of the gold hands.
  4. That is one rare and extremely beautiful movement and case you got there, don't even get me started on the pristine condition they are in. Any chance of a few pictures of the front and crown side of the watch?
  5. Is the RWG crown going to be to OEM specs or to Palp specs?
  6. What a chump... If it is one of us posting replica's on the genuine fora I hope our mods find out who she/he is and ban's the member.
  7. Yeah but correct me if I am wrong but this is like comparing apples with oranges. Yours is a franken is it not? Gen Dial, ETA 28xx with genuine Deprez chronograph module. The "Angus" version with secs @12 is going to use a highly modified A7750 with rep dial? Lovely piece by the way, love the blue hobnail dial...
  8. If eBay+Paypal is +30% cheaper then purchasing it locally I will make use of these services no problem. More often then not I can get items of eBay that would be impossible to find elsewhere or several times more expensive if purchased elsewhere. But imo it would be a good thing if eBay had a serious competitor to prevent them from rising there prices whenever they feel like it or forcing there users to use Paypal.
  9. Please elaborate what exactly looks weird about the rotor? I doubt (A)7750 based replica watches exist of Hamilton watches. Genuines can be purchased for under 1K and on the second hand market I have seen LNIB Swiss 7750 Hamilton
  10. Enojoyed reading your excellent review. Lovely timepiece. Wear it well!
  11. Desperately need a high quality seconds at twelve Safari! Cant wait to see the first pics...
  12. Yes I know, I have a Jimmy CG but the lever was filed significantly down to fit a Palp crown. I purchased an OEM crown which I prefer to the Palp crown, but because the lever of my Jimmy CG is now to short, it cannot be used in combination with the OEM crown. This just a combination of the best parts I could lay my hands on, built not necessarily to approach 100% accuracy of a particular PAM model. For accuracy shall be purchasing a Genuine (116/118/176G or if I cannot source one of the previous a 005). PS: Any pointers on sales of these particular models are welcome.
  13. Marvelous work V on the crown guards , thank you for making my PAM complete! The fit was perfect on my Jimmy case and OEM hand wind crown, no filing or other modifications needed! Enjoy the pictures!
  14. Amazing patina on that dial. You have a lovely piece, wear it well...
  15. Have not pulled the trigger on a watchcase yet. People in the states can get very good deals on watchcases via eBay, take eBay seller acetimers stuff for instance. Watchcases from European based (eBay) sellers costs about two or three times a much as the U.S. offerings. Getting one from the U.S. basically kills the deal due to high shipping costs and due to the size, the high chance of having to pay customs duty on the item. Total bummer maybe I shall just make one myself.
  16. I believe that when the first Panerai reps started coming out, the square bridge PAM Luminors, later the PAM27/28/29/63/188/196 we where getting genuine ETA movements possibly built from loose packs or not I don
  17. I have read numerous times on this forum that ordering 2 fake items from abroad is permitted in the Netherlands. Have any Dutch residents ever received a fine or have there reps confiscated by Dutch customs when ordering less or equal to two reps before? If it is legal to order a rep or two then this changes the whole situation. I would not hurt to look up in the Dutch customs import regulations if you can find such a regulation in writing.
  18. It is an equal tie to 3 watches from my collection. All very different pieces and love equally for other reasons. - IWC Costeau Divers, with Swiss 7750. - Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Jumbo Swiss 2824-2 (Mbw/Mbk) - PAM27 Swiss 2892-A2 Soprod Power Reserve module on Crazy Horse.
  19. The sentimental value of this very special piece must have been as high as it gets. Sorry to hear of your loss.
  20. Amazing! Maybe we can teach it to mod our reps.
  21. What about Vaccum? Is he still offering services on other rep fora?
