  1. At this point I'm happy with my current collection. I'm mainly focussing on servicing and modding now. The only 2 watches on my wish list are the black TH Monaco Chrono and the JLC Hometime - if they ever get repped at all....
  2. Thnx, Vic! Didn't even the know this 'comment' function. I'll drink one on you tonight :) Cheers!

  3. Hey GM, you missed your chance to put it on your wrist at the GTG...... This watch lay on the table with the hors d'euvres during the whole night . The strap is from The Watch Boys. @TK471: this is the new 'ultimate' 164 from Angus.
  4. I'll try to post something tonight. Otherwise I'll 'borrow' Golfman's pic since I got the same
  5. That sounds strange to me. I've opened up a few 6497s and all of them had a small pinion sticking out for the seconds hand. You sure you didn't break it while getting the seconds hand out? Maybe the pinion is still in the tube....
  6. WEDNESDAY Lorenz Theatro THURSDAY PAM0164 on TWB
  7. Looking at these great pics I'm back at the GTG again Thnx Rich!
  8. Compared to other dealers PT is slightly more expensive. But in return you'll get a great service, personal inspection and hassle-free delivery within EU.
  9. The subdial and chrono seconds hands of the high beat are bigger than the ones of the low beat/Swiss. The watchmaker will have to fill the gaps to make it fit. I'm glad my pictorial review answered your question about PT
  10. You're welcome The catch is that only a low beat 7750 is a 1:1 swap with a Swiss. However, an unserviced low beat is also very notorious. Most people buy it only for a immediate swap to Swiss. With an unserviced high beat Asian the odds are better. The one in my 3717 is still working after about 4 months, but I'm planning to have it serviced soon just to be sure. In the end it's cheaper to service a working movement than a broken one - provided it can be repaired at all. Do a search for Daytona (also 7750 w/sec @6) and you'll find lots of horror stories and just a few guys who got lucky.
  11. Hi Dakku, welcome aboard! 3717: I think most members with Swiss versions bought the rep with low beat Asian 7750 and had it swapped for the Swiss 7750. But if you buy a high beat Asian and have it fully serviced you will have a reliable watch as well. 3714: this one has the notorious seconds @6. I wouldn't take the risk. If you're not really anal about accuracy I know that member Pix used to have a fully working quartz version.
  12. Indeed a very good buy! Normally there is a waiting list for this item.....
  13. Although I still feel a bit dizzy, I think I even have bigger smile on my face
  14. Indeed funny to see how one's taste changes over time. Daily Beater - PAM0250 Dress Watch - PAM0183 Smart Casual - Yachtmaster Sporty - Link Chrono
  15. @ Capice: Congrats! This is a very rare and vintage collector's item... a true masterpiece! As far as I can see the only flaw would be the missing tourbillon. Could you please open the caseback and post some pics for further inspection??? I guess some guys have all the luck....
  16. Too bad you need to blow the dust off your dial every day, LOL. But I'm seriously thinking of sending my Daylight crystal to Jakub. I think that's gonna look awesome!
  17. Now we know that you don't take these pics at the beach..
  18. I'm still recovering from this awesome GTG..... It was so great to meet you guys in real life and get to know the persons behind the nick names. A big thank you to Andy & Stephane for organizing this unforgettable event. I'm already looking forward to the next one!
  19. This pic reminds me of having this watch on my wrist for a few seconds : . But at least I can enjoy having the same strap on my rep within a few weeks...............
