  1. Theres definately more metal on the crown guard than Josh's from pictures. Reg's pictue dosnt't really show the depth of the CG
  2. Actually I see from the table in the sticky that 503B is for a Daytona.
  3. Hi resonably well and is bidirectional. Funny you should mention the end links. It doesn't actually touch the bezlel. However, I complained to Reg about it after I got it as you can see its been forced in particularly at the 5.o'clcok, and in fact it turned out that the springbar doesn't really go into the lughole there. I feel he should have spotted this. The end link is 503B - Is that the wrong one?
  4. This is mine from Reg's last trip - Reg's pictures Guess it depends how importnat the crown guards are to you.
  5. You need this case opener from your supplier or watchbitz Semiprofessional case opener 36,5 mm for Rolex Theres a detialed threas on another forum that the hand levers are best for remving hands as the presto tool is a bit vicious and can break the stem 2 lever for watch hande, finely
  6. I've not used that supplier but he looks serious and he sells the die and handle for opening the DSSD seperately. If you are only working on subs/gmt and above you only need the 29,5 + 36,5 mm dies so you don't need the whole boxed set It still may be cheaper for that to go to watcgbitz - if you register and tell them your forum name they will set up up with a discount.. Its diificult with Chines tools to know the quality hence taking care over the screwdrivers, case opener etc. I think you can get a single screwdriver at Cousinsuk. My tip is if getting a set of screwdrivers get one in a case if you do not have a permenet bench.
  7. Thats a 100 USD. The MBW cost me 400USD (255GBP) as you can only get it with the ETA which is 28800. So how much do you value the crown guards.
  8. Does he mean parts or the complete watch? He got me a 5513 on his last visut to Thailand in Feb complete with genuine MBK shopping bag. (At least I thing its genuine)
  9. I think trailboss99 on RWI does wathc repairs. If not I am sure he does know he's based in Down under
  10. http://www.1-pc8838....135-p-9126.html I havn't got one I just saw in when I was browsing
  11. I'm pretty certain that is not the real Perfect clones site. You get to the site by a link in the Joshua section in the dealers section
  12. Well if you look at this video which is a gen, the first position moves the hour hand in hourly jumps, and the second position moves the 24 hr, and minutes and does not jump. The Rolex brochure says: The GMT-Master II has a 24-hour hand and an independent, adjustable 12-hour hand that makes it possible to set the hour for a new time zone while the watch continues to function, maintaining the exact time. The two hour hands allow the time in any two time zones to be read simultaneously. It dosn't work the same way as the ETA GMT. I wish it did as it would save me a lot of effort when travelling - all you have to do on the Rolex is to move the hour hand to the new time zone.
  13. Or if you move try and move the Hour hand and find that the GMT hand moves. You don't need a loupe to see this. The Rolex movement has an independent adjustable hour hand - the ETA has an independently adjustable GMT with hourly jumps (except where it has been specifically modified such as Omega). The Rolex type movement is the only ueseful one for travelling as you do not have to resyncronize your watch. How can the ETA be better than the Rolex movement?
  14. Looks good on your wrist too. Personally I would say it is the right size.
  15. What's wrong with your exisiting GMT apart from the movement? Perhaps it isi a Noob.
  16. You should look at Christopher Ward as well - comparable to Steinhardt and supposedley better service. http://www.christopherward.co.uk/
  17. I meant is there any particular dealer or model you should go to to get the new movement.
  18. Unfortunately as RG are not activating memebership requests at the moment (for whatever reason) the link is out of bounds.
  19. Alligoat, I have been curious for some time. What is the document you have in the background of your pictures.
  20. I have five had Christopher Ward watches with Seliita movements (Christopher ward makes quite a nice range of unique Swiss made watches). They more or less use them interchangeably with the ETA 2824 movements except where they have display backs then they use the higher grade of ETA, where you can see the workman ship. (ie you don't know what you are getting when you buy the watch) My experience was: Watch 1. The automatic winder did not power up properly and watch replaced after six months under warranty. 2nd watch OK. Watch 2: Lost 25 seconds a day. Went back to be regulated then OK. Watch 3. Stopped after a week. Movement completely replaced. Watch (call it watch 5) OK Apparently the ETA design is an old one and the patent ran out, which is why they can make them, as can the Chinese, In principle the parts are interchangeable with the ETA ones.
  21. Nice glow. Did you buy the new indices and then tswapped them out to the old? I didn't know you could do that.
  22. Ebay have sent me an Email to say they have delisted one of the Seiko Fives I bought (for 10 quid) for reasons they won't say. Guessing it was a clone. I guess people must think it is a high value watch to bother cloning it.
  23. Volkswagon own Audi and Bentley. The problem with the Seiko is 7s26 movement that it has no hacking function, although apparnetly you can play with the hand setting tostop the watch.
