  1. I've got a new Navitimer 7750 3-6-9 and I love the watch. I've given the matter of movement service quite a bit of thought and come to the conclusion that at this point it is probably not worth it. As I paid about $250 for the watch, and servicing will likely be close to $200, I figure that if the watch lasts a few years I could likely buy a new or even more accurate rep at that time. Possibly by that point Swiss 7753s will be more plentiful and a transplant will be the way to go. I do love this watch though, and maybe I'll have a change of heart when Zig returns. As he said, there is no right or wrong answer when it comes to this question.
  2. I'll try that. My AD is a place called Le Swiss, a real high end kind of boutique. I'd be really surprised if I could but a springbar for $25 there! I will enquire though, thanks for the tip.
  3. I think the daytonas had more issues because they had to be modified to get the subdials in the right spot. I think the 7750 is more reliable than in the past. It does seem more prone to issues, but is also more complicated than other rep movements.
  4. Actually the buckle is very close to what the genuine strap uses, just with no engraving. Its actually more accurate than most of the breitling rep buckles I've seen.
  5. Had a package from Germany waiting for me when I got home tonight! My new BOB Navitimer strap from Waccex. This baby comes as close to the gen as I've seen, as I was told it is made to all Breitling specs. The strap is nice and thick at the edges, and the white stiching is nice and heavy. If you are looking to go with leather on a Breitling, this is the only strap that comes close! I'm giving it my two thumbs up.
  6. Here are some pics of my new BOB calf strap made for the Navitimer. Its very thick, and the closest thing I've found to the genuine!
  7. BTW, I've got a leather BOB Navitimer strap on the way. I've yet to find an accurate strap yet. I find the stiching to be to fine and the thickness of the leather to be too thin on all the ones I have. The BOB version is said to be built to Breitling specs, so I'll post a review and pics when it arrives.
  8. On my bracelet each piece is slightly curved to match the roundness of the wrist. Does flipping the bracelet make the band look or feel odd? Was it difficult to get a decent finish on the crown & pushers? On the top of the bezel did you sand in a linear motion or in a circular motion? BTW I have found the Canon cameras to be the best of the point and shoot models. I have one of the small versions, and find it great for throwing in my pocket, and carrying around town. Cheers!
  9. Chrono, you seem like a bright guy, and maybe its just a case of getting started on the wrong foot. Its just common courtesy to be on top of the items you buy and sell. You seem to have great taste in watches, and I think you'll fit in here well if you just take the time to be more polite to other members, whether it be in transactions or in the forums. Anyway I wish you would spend a couple of bucks on a decent digital camera, I would love to see a quality image of your scuffed up Navitimer. Did you disassemble it before you sanded it? Are the scuff lines straight on the bracelet? I love my SS navitimer, but cant wear the band to work as it gets all scratched up on the side that rests on my desk when I work on my computer. I would love to pick up a Series Special just for this kind of project.
  10. Obviously? Nothing seems to be obvious with you dude. It seemed that you put the watch up for sale, made a deal with another member for it, then left him hanging without word. You didn't alter the for sale thread to let others know, and you didn't rename it so the mods could delete it. On top of that you were rude to my friend Pugwash. The only thing that is obvious Chronomat123 is that you are not making any friends here.
  11. Very odd that you decided to mod what appears to be the same watch that you have put up for sale here. http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=7771 Anyway, its coincidental cause I was thinking of buying your Navi for this exact project. I was planning to dismantle the watch and use my dremel with a wire brush to make sure that the angle of the brushing matched the gen. Would love to see some quality pics.
  12. Actually the gen has step to it. The subdial itself has a pie pan effect to it and there is a ridge around the indentation. My TTK version has no step to it. Also the gen dial is very shiny and my rep has a matte finish to it. This image will give you a good representation of how the gen dial looks BTW, can you post a pic?
  13. Any hints on the second one? maybe another piece of the picture?
  14. Thats what I was thinking, A. LANGE & SOHNE, but I couldn't find the exact model.
  15. Its an Aquatimer I'm really impressed guys!
  16. Its an Aquatimer I'm really impressed guys!
  17. Last one for today, anybody recognize this one?
  18. Gonna have to change my guess to a FM Crazy Hours, based on the fact that I can't see any horn on the side of the case. As usually these are in the 5:00 position, its either a pocket watch or a FM.
  19. Bingo! Shouldn't have given such an obvious hint! Bring it on Pug.
  20. Nope. This beauty is known for its unique crown guard.
  21. Doesn't hurt that I happen to be wearing that watch!
