  1. Thanks for the idea. Wouldn't be overly difficult to do!

  3. Actually I think the 6:00 subdial mimics the hour hand, and is not a part of the chrono.
  4. REPLICAST Episode #1 is now on the air! Feel free to send topics or links to threads that you feel should be discussed. The first episode was really just a primer for newbs, but I feel that segments like the "new releases" and "technical info" will be regular features. I do need your help though, as I would like to cover topics like reluming, servicing, etc. Also, reviews of watches that you have received would help greatly. I'm starting to put together show notes for the second episode, so feel free to contribute! Listen here (Control click to DOWNLOAD) http://www.switchpod.com/users/andreww/REP...T_Episode_1.mp3 To subscribe in itunes Under "Advanced" in the menubar select "Subscribe to Podcast". Paste this into the box feed://www.switchpod.com/users/andreww/feed.xml Let me know what you think! Episode 1 is a "Guide for Newbies" featuring buying tips, tracking hints as well as new watch reviews!
  5. Thats what I'll look for, but I'm really not overly picky. Cash is short right now so it'll be a while anyway. They'll probably have it right by the time I can afford one LOL!
  6. Sorry dude, wish I could make you feel better about it. I really hope your next purchase works out better for you!
  7. Hey tourbillon1801 I know you are disappointed, but why not give the watch a chance? I've been in the same boat, and at some point decided to be so critical of what was on my wrist. I'll bet your PO looks outstanding and will draw nothing but compliments when you wear it. Don't let it bum you out too much my friend, its only a watch. Hopefully your experience will help someone like myself, who is longing to own one of the beauties, when the time comes to buy! Cheers mate!
  8. A member over at RWI just received a Navi from Andrew that was advertised as the 7750b1 28,800, but on inspection it is actually the older version.
  9. Heres a pic of the whole 192 kit... And this is a rare image of the gen 192 with the sub-second marks just like our reps. Bet you thought that was a mistake!
  10. The hands do look awesome! They dont seem to be as shiny as the reps.
  11. Nope, but after about six months it hasn't missed a beat! BTW, the navitimer has always been my dream watch. I love everything about it, and literally spent several years looking for a rep of this quality. When I pulled this baby out of TTK's trademark gold pouch I was blown away. Even TTK's outstanding photography couldn't do this one justice!
  12. Nope, mine is the previous version with 2nd gen 7750 and smaller date window.
  13. Mine has a light AR coating (Inside only)
  14. My TTK version slide-rule lines up perfectly! I use it all the time so thats important to me. BTW, in case you didn't hear, Pugs Navi stopped dead and is now en route back to Ruby.
  15. Faux chronos are my pet peeve. I've got a few of them too, but since I discovered the quality of reps here, I can't wear them. They have become my yardwork or golf watches!
  16. Aside from a genuine leather strap, which will cost more than your watch, The Bob replica strap is the best I've been able to find.
  17. I'll take your word for it, but I didn't notice. Heres a gold gen
  18. Well, I've seen this watch in person and have the original catalogue, never seen silver, looks white to me!
  19. Don't really understand what you mean by this? Are you talking about the sliderule ring with the numbers?
  20. I would call this the least accurate navi available. Sure, the date wheel looks better than the 3 6 9 version, but aside from that the entire case and SS strap are supposed to be brushed. The picture leather band wouldn't fool anybody who has any knowledge of genuine navis. I do believe that this watch has the potential to be the most accurate, by disassembling and brushing the entire case and strap. As is, I could see this one coming a mile away!
  21. I would never believe that anybody would send a dead watch, that would be just plain stupidity. I do prefer someone like TTK who handpicks watches though. Just because a watch "runs" doesn't mean it "works". TTK runs his watches for a period of time, so you know its not going to lose 20 minutes a day (not sure what his acceptable deviation is however). Also, you know that you are not going to receive the wrong watch by mistake. I really believe that over the past half year the quality of our dealers has gotten better. The long standing vets like TTK have picked it up a bit, and new additions like Ruby, Razorfish, and Sash have givin us more options. What I would like to see however is the distribution to the customer be handled by distributors in the U.S., Canada, Europe, etc., with people like TTK supplying them. Having to ship individual pieces around the globe does not seem to me to be the best way to do things, and I believe customers would be more comfortable purchasing watches without customs issues. Also, this would open up other methods of payment (CC, cash) and get rid of PP or WU fees.
  22. So far the Bob strap is the best I've found. The only other rep strap that I have seen that may be close is made by an Austrian company called Lederbrand (sic?). They advertise there straps as being tapered (unlike Bob) from 6mm at the lugs to 3mm at the buckle. Gen straps are a pretty rare find on the bay, but I did see a black leather 22mm (brand new) yesterday, but the starting bid plus shipping was not far off the price you were quoted from the AD.
