  1. I don't believe this is a 7750 we're talking about Lan.
  2. Assuming that you've settled on a Navitimer, you don't want to do more than wash your hands with it. Because the crystal is not attached to the case (its attached to the bezel which rotates around the case) water resistance is sketchy at best. Not even the gen has a water resistance rating suitable for swimming. Its a pilots watch remember, not meant to be anywhere near the water
  3. I can almost guarantee that as The Zigmeister suggests, its the hairspring that has become slightly tangled, in essence shortening the spring and causing it to run fast. Being the consumate watchmaker that he is, he would never recommend this but it has worked for me and many others. Place the watch in your palm face down and give it a gentle but firm slap on the caseback. This is usually enough to free up the hairspring and get it running again. Most watchmakers wont even look at asian movements, so sending it back is your only other option. Might as well try it first
  4. It wouldn't surprise me at all if they shared the same dial manufacturer.
  5. I'm almost certain that this is the V1/3 Skyland with a proper DLC coating. Look at the difference in the pearls (V2 is more accurate) as well as how much closer the numbers on the bezel come to the outer edge on the V2 (also more accurate). Also, the rubber strap on the new one is the old cheap version which is what comes with the V1/3. Should be interesting to see the price on this one. It should make this watch more accessible to those that can't afford to drop $500 on a rep. I'm hoping that we'll see this in the sub $250 range. V3 Skyland BS V2 Skyland BS
  6. I think SS is very much in style. I always order a watch with the SS bracelet, but I normally wear it on rubber or leather just for the fact that SS picks up nasty scratches and desk diving marks so easily. When the mood hits me there is always a nice shiny bracelet at the ready!
  7. I'm going to have to disagree with Dave on this one as well. The SFSO suffered from sloppy lume as well, only it is more evident because of the size of the markers. The circular pattern on the dial is not as defined as the gen, the rider tabs are flat (should be rounded) and the pearl is slightly off as well. In my opinion the Skyland is a notch or two more accurate. As far as the difference in look and feel, these are two completely different watches. The SFSO with its refined crown, partially brushed case, and thinner case is more casual. The Skyland, with its knurled crown, extra deep face, super extra thick case, and 99% polished exterior is just an "in your face" kind of watch. Definitely room for both in the collection.
  8. I'm with you there Toad. I've been thinking about focusing my collection on Breitlings specifically.
  9. Honest to god, it wasn't on my wrist for 10 minutes before I had a compliment on it!
  10. 4 Breits 4 Omegas 2 Pams 1 Rolex Like you I'm pretty content right now BT.
  11. Funnily enough, I chose this watch for the weight and the bling factor. I got the blue divers strap as well, but it'll stay on the bracelet for a while.
  12. It came from Daytona4me. Great guy to deal with!
  13. Just picked this up today. Its dark, so a couple of quickies will have to do for now. Kind of hard to capture the blue dial in artificial light, but all I can say is wow! Been walking in to walls all day because I can't take my eyes off my friggin wrist
  14. Give me a chance to get bored of the bracelet and rubber strap first!
  15. LOL, no problem there Toad, it was hanging off my wrist! I dare say that there are very few people that this bracelet won't fit. Had to pull for full links out and move the fine adjustment up three notches to fit my 6.75" wrist. Looks great though, and all of the lume dots look perfect with the naked eye. I'll check it with a loupe later.
  16. I take it all back! After a quick trip to the local postal station the Skyland is now in hand... or on the wrist
  17. Every package I've got, excluding this one, has entered in Vancouver (usually 2 or 3 days after mailing). It usually sits for another few days, then starts moving across the country. After about another few days it arrives at Gateway in Mississauga. Another day or two and it ships to a postal station at Yonge & Front, then is delivered the next day. I'm hoping the Skyland is sitting at Yonge & Front right now. I'll take a walk down there at lunch and see if I can grab it.
  18. Just checked and the status has been updated... Don't like the sound of that!
  19. Yeah, got the SS bracelet and the new rubber strap. The black and grey dials look to similar to my Chrono Avenger, so I went with the blue. I'm waiting for a package from Silix as well, it was sent mid January, so who knows whats happened to that (no tracking). He said he'd send another, but I haven't heard from him since. My patience is getting streeeethched!
  20. I've ordered a new blue Skyland recently. Its my first new watch in about a year, so I'm kind of excited. Usually when I order watches from the far east (I'm in Toronto), it will take 2-3 weeks for delivery, as they usually enter in Vancouver and have to make the long trek across the entire country . Anyway, I was provided a tracking number on the 25th and it showed that the watch had been shipped that day. The next morning (Friday the 26th) I checked the tracking number first thing and was delighted to find that the watch had already entered Canada and was sitting across town awaiting customs clearance. I prayed that I would be one of those lucky "2 day delivery" people, but alas, the status did not change Friday and no delivery came. I checked all weekend, but no change (expected as I don't think Canada Post works weekends). Surely the status would change on Monday morning to show "Out for Delivery"! No such luck!!! Still "Awaiting review by customs". Twelve hours to go round the world, and 4 days to get through customs. Oh well, as I learned long ago, you need patience in this hobby Maybe tomorrow.
  21. Excellent! You and Dave ain't gonna be hard to spot with you new acquisitions. I got my eyes open boys!
  22. Never understood what the advantage is in paying all that extra money. The rep crystal and a trip to see Chief is every bit as good. Provided you don't have one of those jinxed crystals
  23. Great news that we are all doing well! Its not a contest, and I have friends at all three boards, so its nice to see good numbers on all three fronts!
  24. Dave' IMO the gmt makes the SA look small
