  1. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see you try it, but I don't think it will work. Because of the transfer gear module on the 3-6-9 on the A7750, it is slightly thicker than a 7750 or 7753. The crown and pusher holes have been adjusted for that, and I don't believe they would align properly with a 7753 in that case. From what I have heard, the 6-9-12 case is different as to accommodate the unmodified A7750, but I am not sure if the 7750 and 7753 are the same depth. To make this work I think at the very least you would need the following: Serie Speciale (6-9-12) case 2004 Navitimer (3-6-9) caseback Genuine dial (needs to be ground down about 1mm as its too big) Lello datewheel (provided it will fit in a 7753) Of course you will need to AR the crystal as well If all these pieces fit together you should have a decent franken-Navi, but the individual digits on the date will still be pointing in the wrong direction, and unless you can find an old school case, the slide rule markings will not line up properly. Hope this helps, its been a project that I contemplated for years, but the risk cost was just too great to take. As you already have the most expensive component, the ETA 7753, it may be something that you could try. I'd contact The Zigmeister for clarification as to whether a 7753 and unmodified 7750 have the same dimensions before you even begin. Cheers, A
  2. One thing that you will have to consider with Breits on small wrists is that the rubber and leather straps will be too big (both gen and rep). I have a 6.75" wrist an grudgingly have to punch an extra hole in every Breit strap I get. With a 6.25" wrist you'll need to punch at least three extra holes (or one hole far away from the others). You might want to stick with a SS bracelet which can be adjusted for a small wrist. Btw, have you tried the Super Avenger? Kidding, go with a Navitimer, perfect size and weight for you.
  3. You are going to want to be very careful when using any sort of polishing technique on the case. A cape cod cloth or any spattered polish will ruin the AR coating, and as the bezel is unremovable on this model, re-coating the crystal is not an option.
  4. To tell you the truth I cant see what you are talking about, looks black to me. Does the watch have AR coating? If so it may be that it is a blue tint making the dial look blue. A lot of Skyland owners complain about that as well. Try taking some pics outdoors where the lighting is better.
  5. You sure about that Zig? He says that even if he runs the chrono for several hours. Seems to me that that hand would change position with the chrono running if it were something as simple as a incorrectly set hand.
  6. Fantastic watch, thanks for sharing! I have the blue dial blue strap version on my wrist right now and just love it!
  7. Not really sure what you are trying to say, maybe you should post a pic. The subdials on the Navi are actually silver, not white. They have a fine lined pattern, radiating from the center. I'm not sure why they would appear blue, unless it the minimal AR coating making them look a little blueish. Are you happy with the watch?
  8. The Breitling Montbrilliant Datora uses the A7751.
  9. Get it pressure tested at a local watch repair shop. Do not have a dealer do it as they are just taking your money and doing nothing to the watch.
  10. It basically converts a seconds measurement to a percentage of a minute. For example, if you stopped the stopwatch at 30 seconds, the reading on the insert is 50 or .5 minutes.
  11. Awesome watch my friend, congrats! Thanks for a fantastic review as well!
  12. Come on Dave, you and I both know Hont's watches come out of the same box as Josh's $458 version. At $458 of course it would be a dud.
  13. The SFSO screws are the same as the Skylands. They are not real and can fall out just as easily.
  14. I think that its probably too soon to start blaming any defects on the increased demand because of the lowered price. The manufacturers don't react that quickly, and we likely would have seen the BS go out of stock if the sudden demand was that great. The problems you list have always existed with this rep. Its more likely that if their supply is dwindling, that there may be more flawed examples left, as buyers have been asking dealers to pick one with properly painted lume. Still most of what I've been seeing (aside from the bent hand example) has been just as good as what was delivered before the price drop.
  15. To remove, you need to take out the movement. Then push the crystal outwards with your thumbs. Reinstallation will require a crystal press.
  16. Certainly a retro feel to this years models. Can't say that I like any of them very much.
  17. Neil is one of the most entertaining drummers to watch. He spins those sticks 20 feet in the air, catches them without seeming to even look, and never misses a beat.
  18. Usually you would pay shipping fees.
  19. Gen breits generally look amazing under magnification. Thats why you pay the big bucks for them.
  20. I agree, it would be nice to see one of the vintage "no date" models released, but I doubt that it would be that successful. My guess is that there may be a redesigned Navi a Baselworld this year, and we will see a decent rep of that.
  21. I agree. Looks like either a bent post, or that the hand/tube assembly is a little off. Either could be easily broken, leaving you with a bigger mess to deal with. Best to contact the dealer and send it back for a replacement.
  22. I'd hold off on spending any money modding existing speedys. Josh has already stated that a new moonwatch is in the works with the proper subdial spacing. Best to save your pennies and get the whole watch when its done right
  23. I've always told people to send their reps one at a time
  24. I still think it looks classy, but just a little more sporty. Makes the watch a little more versatile IMO.
