Was watching that. The replay from the in car cam shows the piece coming in incredibly fast. I really hope Massa recovers quickly.
Maybe Shumacker could step in tomorrow?
Breitling has updated their site with some interesting new additions.
Firstly, the Super Avenger is now available with the split numbers like the Skyland...
Even more interesting is the new model simply called Avenger. It appears to be identical to the Skyland but with silver hands...
The Twins use of terminology is far from accurate. They do in fact state that it is the same blackening process as used on the gen...

From all I have heard the durability of the V2 is quite good. But, the thickness of the coating is likely only a few microns, so no matter what its coated with, if you hit it hard enough to disturb the surface more than that coated amount, it will scratch. A coating will not make a watch "harder". DLC, from what I understand changes the color of the surface of the steel rather than coating it, so it is more durable than PVD, but no more durable than stainless steel. It will scratch if you hit it hard enough.
By-Tor, whatever he has in his collection, you and he both seem to share a passionate disliking for Panerai
Yes, I did notice the AWOL sub hand on the Navitimer Olympus. Seems a little odd.
As others have pointed out, the surroundings don't seem to jibe with a collection of that value. Smells a little fishy. Possibly Jetmed's (is that right?) collection?
Having over a dozen watches, I simply hack the movement when I am not wearing a watch. When I want to wear a particular watch I just set the date and time and I'm ready to go. I used to wind each watch every night, and that was a very tough habit to break, but after seeing Zigs post I made the effort to change my ways.
Sounds like they need to be looked at by a watchsmith. I'm guessing that there is some sort of problem with the pusher mechanism and its alignment with the spacer ring, that is not allowing it to release. From what I know this is not a common issue with Skylands however.
Whatever is your favorite watch. My Navitimer isn't the most accurate rep around, but it is by far my favorite. There are plenty of near perfect reps out there though, the Ferrari 008, Graham Diver, Ebel Discovery, HBB, Skyland, Super Avenger, to name a few. But really, buy what you like, it will make you happier in the long run.
The solid unscrewed links are held together with press fitted pins. Once you pry them apart they will not go back together. I suppose you could use some kind of glue, but I don't think it would work that well.
Been worried about you for a while mate. You been fighting this thing for quite a while. I think it's time to focus on getting well my friend, so stay home, stay in bed (no ladies), and we'll see you back when you feel better
Btw, another MJ quirk that irked me to no end.
He often complained about his privacy and that he was hounded by the press and fans. But, it was actually MJ & Co. that were feeding the press and fan clubs the details of his every move. Also, to get michael to appear on an award show, he had to be guaranteed of an award. If he didn't win any of the categories, a new honor was dreamed up to appease him. Artist of the millenium? Sounds more like a guy with major ego issues if you ask me.
This guy has always been manipulating people through the press. After the molestation charge, he immediately married Lisa Marie, what was that about? These are the kinds of things that make me like the whole man-child excuse for his fascination with young boys is just another croc.
@b16a2, actually it's been fairly well documented that it was actually MJ who provided the enquirer with the story and pics of the hyperbolic chamber. He actually went out of his way to promote his bizarre behavior.
@ the previous poster- it's always hard to prove molestation charges, but the accusations that Jackson fed the kids wine and had them view porno mags was prooved via fingerprint evidence. If that info doesn't make you think twice about this guy, then I don't know what will.
