  1. Like the OP stated, registered mail is by far the safest method, but provides no tracking and can take a month or more to receive. Unless you live in a problem area like Germany, Italy, or Texas, you should be fine. EMS is the second safest method.
  2. Almost looks like its been double stamped. I'd be more upset with that terrible looking pearl. Looks nothing like the gen or any other SFSO that I have seen.
  3. Looks great! Awesome project.
  4. Actually its a little easier to remove the bezel on this one Zig. They pop off pretty easy and are easy to put back together. I've done it before and its pretty simple. Look at Pugwash's excellent guide here... http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showto...36&hl=bezel
  5. Looks just about perfect but for the sunken datewheel. Note that the date window is also much smaller than the gen, as the datewheel is slightly more inboard on the rep movement. The gen datewindow cuts in to the seconds lines at the bottom, the reps comes nowhere close. But, we all knew that would be a flaw on this one, and aside from that I don think it could be any better. For all you potential buyers please be aware that this one can only be worn with the bracelet, noo leather or rubber for this one.
  6. Tried the QOS on at the AD and its even uglier in person. You can't even read the dial printing because of that obnoxious pattern, and the QOS laser etching on the crystal is impossible to read as well. It just looks like a smudge or scratch. Terrible looking watch. Caseback was nice though.
  7. Were those all in one thread?
  8. No, the rotor should not spin during winding. You really shouldn't manually wind automatic movements as this is usually the result. I believe that you have stripped the winding gear, which will need to be replaced.
  9. Robbie, I really don't understand people who have a total lack of consideration for others, especially on the road. Your excuse that you were "only doing 88 in a 45" is ludicrous. Just because you don't approve of the speed reduced zone, does not mean that you have the right to simply ignore it. If you simply didn't realize the limit had dropped, well thats even more scary given your rate of speed. I know, 88 in a 45, but you have already admitted that you were braking with both feet before your detector chirped, so lets cut the [censored] and tell us how fast you were doing before you braked? Because of your constant lust for speed you likely have never felt what it is like to have a vehicle close in on you at better than 40 or 50 mph faster than your own speed. You may feel that you are in control, but to be frank Robbie, I don't appreciate you making that decision when it is both yours an my life that are at stake. You may not be rich, but given your attitude that you can simply foot the bill for your illegal activities rather than abide by the laws like the rest of us, shows a total disregard for everyone, including the officer that ticketed you. I can only imagine his frustration in dealing with such a pompous ass.
  10. Actually Lan, a Swiss 7750 transplant is pretty straight forward. The chrono second hand is slightly smaller on the rep and should be broached, but apparently it can just be put on with a little extra force. I don't think there would be a ton of savings however, at almost $500 for the watch (shipped), plus almost $500 for the ETA 7750, plus labor to switch the movement, you are looking at about the same cost as buying the Swiss version. A better option IMO would be to send the asian version to Zig for service (and have it relumed while its there), as you will end up with a stunning watch that will be every bit as reliable as the swiss version
  11. LOL, but no, he went in to the storage cupboard to get me one and they were all the old ones that I already have. Normally I would have taken another and shared it here, but I didn't want to jeopardize my chances of getting the new one in a week or two.
  12. Stupidest survey I have ever seen! Q1 _ Do you ever fly United? A_ NO Q2_ When you fly United do you fly __ International or __ Domestic Its impossible to enter the survey without lying in question 2. Good thing your friend is hot
  13. Just got back from my AD and no new book
  14. Thanks for the heads up!
  15. Got to read the completed review this morning on the train, as I'd only seen bits and pieces in PMs. I want to thank Lan who came up with the idea, and quarterbacked the whole process. I know how important it was to get this out before anybody else posted pics, so there was a lot of pre-production, and then a real rush to get it completed quickly once the watch arrived. Because of Lan's time zone, it allowed us to work on this 24 hrs a day. Great job Lan, and thanks to DBR and Dave123 as well!
  16. Just saw these posted by Josh. I believe these are new right?
  17. I'm sure it is mentioned numerous times in this very thread, but yes you can use gen parts from Ofrei, but the tube will need to be epoxied in place as the tube is slightly narrower than the case hole.
  18. If you constantly are screwing these down they will strip. I've gone through two rep and am almost through two gen crown and tubes. The gen lasts longer, but inside threads are just a terrible design IMO. Luckily its not too big a deal to replace them.
  19. You've removed the stem, and the clamps, so the only thing I can see being an issue is the pusher. Try getting the spacer out without the movement, maybe that will help? EDIT – Rolaxman beat me to it, but it seems like you have your solution Toad!
  20. Very nice, thanks for sharing!
  21. Doesn't really ever happen. Sometimes small dealers or accessory dealers will have an xmas sale though.
  22. The gen was released this year I believe. As for a rep of it, I haven't heard anything as of yet. Certainly doable though.
