  1. Thanks the CGs, especially top one, need some shaving at the base.
  2. Rlx 5513 Gilt with a twist of Bond, James. Made completely of left-overparts I didn't want or couldn't use for other projects. case from a Trusty's 1680 red sub, lugholes drilled, aged/polished case & bezel cwp insert gen insert-dot MBW gilt dial, repainted and aged Trusty hands, aged cousins tube and Bodo OEM quality crown gen 19 crystal RTL NATO strap All in all, a very fun & cheap project
  3. So do we have enough orders to make TTK happy?
  4. Very nice, please share all details about the project! What's the problem you're having fitting the crystal?
  5. Nice CG work Vaccum . The bezel on those trusty (I assume) 1:1 reps are horribly rough though, that's why I after a lot of work finishing the bezel just decided to replace it with an aftermarket one including a crystal retaining ring (hated the spring thingy concept)
  6. Chinese New Years holliday ends 26th Feb I think?
  7. Price is defintely an important factor, not to expensive. I guess most sub reps are around 110-200 $ depending movement. It would be easier for us and the vintage gurus to have some input on the watch if we had a prototype to see. Hopefully there'll be one soon
  8. Hope Silix will listen to our suggestions, like Davidsen did w/ the 111H dial. My wish/dream list for a James Bond Sub: Case 1:1 that accept gen parts and have the correct engraving Lugholes drilled to 1.2-1.3 mm Correct Crown Correct bezel in shape and teeth without the spring, but with a crystal retaining ring Matte ivory dial markers on a decent printed dial 2846 movement w/ 445 part (like that's going to be possible ) Correct bracelet what do you think? EDIT: This is of course how just I would like the watch and probably not what Silix will offer (but one can hope )
  9. You're on the list by posting in this thread
  10. After mods and some gen parts, here's an MBW 1680 and a MBW 5512
  11. Thanks By-Tor, the 1655 has a very different dial design that reflected 70's watches style pretty good. Probably why it went out of production relatively fast, compared to subs and daytonas. Just wish the rep-makers would make more accurate cases (and hands) to the specific models, and not only clone the 5513 case for all similar reps.
  12. it seems this MBW vintage non-cg sub is still available
  13. shameless bumpetibump for visibility
  14. My Franken 1680 on the left, Gen to the right (have fixed the CGs, will take new pics after I hopefully get Ubi/watchmeister datewheel)
  15. Thanks Ubi! Just wish I had Pugs photo skills and your Rlx collection
  16. I really think the daytonas look great on Granite, steel vs stone
  17. Thanks! The 116 crystal was having a gap next to the case, bezel fit was ok but not very tight. Seems the 116 has same outer diameter as Subs 127 crystal but is thinner on the inside. Guess Rolex just fattened up the Subs crystals to stand increased pressure tolerence in diving, thicker acrylic. Bezel seems pretty accurate on this rep, fits crystal w/ inner diameter, and outer diameter is the correct 37mm
  18. After fitting a gen 116 crystal, this 70's style watch just get more and more wrist-time
  19. Explorer II 1655 Steve McQueen vintage Finally managed to fit a gen 116 crystal in a very stable way . trick was to use a thicker, more square o-ring and better cement Also vintaged the bezel more, and improved cg Now I need better/thinner hour/min hands Hope you like it! As before: Case Trustys 1655 "1:1 top grade", smoothed, CGs & drilled lugholes Fitted ETA 2893-2 GMT movement Fitted a 1570 caliber GMT hand from cwp Dial and hour/min hands repainted Fitted aftermarket Rivet hollow rolled link bracelet, different aftermarket endlinks, gen springbars Gen tube/crown Rep on the left, gen to the right Note that the cg on this particular gen have an unusual shape, decided to stick with the more common shape Previous pictures of the back:
