  1. A little poly watch should sort that out.
  2. From what I have read, you will be lucky if it lasts a year. Some people on here have reported that lubricating the movement with graphite has helped. Others recommend pulling out the crown, so the movement is not running when you are not wearing the watch. It all sounds like a bit too much trouble to me, and is not great value for money if the watch breaks quickly. If you are interested in Rolex's look at a few of the other models, as they should be way more reliable. Here is a good thread on the topic. http://www.rwg.cc/topic/47319-review-of-rolex-daytona-seconds-at-6/page__hl__daytona
  3. I would advise against a Daytona as a first rep. Read through a few of the threads on here about the seconds at 6 movements. Basically a few years ago rep makers came up with a bit of a hack to get these movements to work, and at first it looked amazing, but then the watches started breaking down quite quickly. The first rep I wanted to buy was a Daytona, as it is my favourite watch, but based on what I learned on the forums, it is not a good idea. Maybe in a few years these problems will be sorted out, but it is not a great idea right now. (IMHO) Of the Bvlgari watches, I think this one looks best. http://www.silix-pri...roducts_id=1259
  4. I have not heard of that dealer before. It is usually best to use one of the trusted dealers from this forum. The trusted dealers are well known by forum members, and if you have a complaint about quality or service you can appeal to the moderators to help you out. The Trusted Dealers are listed here. http://www.rwg.cc/fo...ng-accessories/ They list a lot of their products in the forum, but also have external websites that you can click through to see. So far I have only bought from BK, but he only deals in Rolex. Silix have a number of Bvlgari watches on their site. http://www.silix-pri...5ese5qdjm0089v0 Hope this is helpful. Silix also have some Bvlgari watches in their cheap watches section starting at around $60, but you get what you pay for and a $60 rep will probably not be amazing. Joshua also has a few Bvlgari reps like this one. http://www.1-pc8838.com/0bvdg10001-diagono-xpro-chrono-ssru-white-asian-7750-p-9717.html
  5. Which Bvlgari watches do you like?
  6. This line just cracks me up. I wonder if accusations of homosexuality accompany all of his consumer complaints? "this beer is too warm, what kind of a fag are you?? ". LOL
  7. Ah, you are right the video I watched a while back was on a non ceramic model.
  8. Take a look on YouTube, there are a few videos up showing how to change an insert. The one with the LV Rolex, looks like a rep to me, so I imagine it is an accurate representation of what you will find.
  9. A watch service should do this, in fact it should be better than when you bought it. I own a few antique watches which are not waterproof, they steam up from time to time, sometimes even due to wearing them on very rainy days. I have them serviced every 3 years, and all keep perfect time. All mechanical watches require regular servicing, and the movement in your watch really should be serviced as soon as you get it. I would also definitely have it waterproofed, as you can't really own a divers watch that you are afraid to get wet. Maybe you can drop into a few local watch smiths and check if they are willing to service a rep. That might save you from having to post it out, and it never hurts to know a good local watchsmith.
  10. Well it sounds like he really just needs an insert, datewheel and waterproofing. Possibly a movement service. The bk dssd has a better movement which has not been steamed up like his current one. I get the feeling (maybe incorrectly) that he is mostly disappointed with the quality of the watch he bought. I might be wrong, but often it is a false economy to buy something cheap, and then upgrade. It is like buying a squire guitar, upgrading the frets, the tuners, the pickups, the pots, and you have spent so much that you could have bought a fender. It is a pity to be so disappointed withen a few days of buying something, and maybe the initial purchase was the mistake.
  11. I guess you could sell it here, but maybe just see if one of your friends wants to buy it from you, that way you would not even have to spend money posting it to someone.
  12. Would it possibly be cheaper and quicker to sell your DSSD, buy one from BK, and pay him the extra 30 dollars to waterproof it?
  13. Looks like the most important thing for that watch is waterproofing.
  14. Ah, so the BK sub is an upgraded version of this.
  15. Do the additional jewels that Domi added reduce the problems that people have with the seconds at six movements?
  16. How does this compare to the BK WM9 LV? Sounds quite similar.
  17. I have always liked the look of small slim watches. Seems more skilled for a watchmaker to make a movement that fits in an old fashioned small case than the huge cases you see today. I guess a larger case is often needed for water resistance, but for a dress watch, I still think small and slim looks best.
  18. I like strap 2 the best. Nice watch.
  19. May not be a tourby, lots of inexpensive watches have an open heart design, where they just show the balance wheel. I own an Alpha like that, and people mistake it for a tourbillion all the time. I was wearing it in Alpha Omega in Boston (A Breguet AD), and the sales man was gushing over it. I just told him it was a Chinese one to calm him down. here is an example. http://www.alpha-watch.com/details.php?myid=469
  20. I have read a lot about the high quality of BK's work, so am about to buy a DSSD from him. People have mentioned that delivery can take a little time though. Typically how long is the wait when you order from BK?
  21. Hi Jkay, Is this the sort of stuff you are recommending? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Finish-Line-Mountain-Chain-120ml/dp/B00365YSTK/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1334833226&sr=8-3
  22. Is there a good rep out there of the breitling Emergency Mission A73321? http://www.watches.c...mission-a73321/ It would seem like a great rep to own, as the gen has a quartz movement, and you would not actually want to have the emergency beacon in the watch, as I believe you get a big fine if it goes off accidentally. So truthfully the rep would be better than the gen, and a better price too. Does anyone own this rep, I'd love to see some photos and hear a review.
  23. how does the gold wear on these? Years ago I had a two tone seiko which I loved, but the gold plating wore off in spots after a year or so, which put me off plated watches. I really love your rose gold watch, but worry that it would not last long. What kind of durability do people see on these?
