  1. BK still has a few. No? Oh sorry, I think his are v3
  2. Once fully wound you cant turn them anymore. It is quite obvious when you have reached the end.
  3. Hi Zulu, Good to have a new member here. If you stick around a few weeks you will notice a few messages that come in from first time posters promoting particular sites that the members here have not done business with. Many of these postings are fairly obvious adverts being posted by someone who is most likely the site owner. After you see a few of these you will no longer be surprised why people were suspicious of your first post. Sometimes terms like scam site are used here, not specifically meaning that the site owner keeps your money and sends nothing, but often non approved sites just provide a low standard of customer service, or make untrue claims about the quality of their watches. While the site you mention may be fine, TD's here go through a bit of a process to be approved, and it is hoped that they value their relationship with the forum, and thus will respond to customer complaints quickly. The TD's referenced on this site sell a range of quality of reps. Obviously the cheaper ones are not as good as the more expensive ones, but members here feel they are reasonably priced for their quality, and accurately described on the sites. There is also value associated with being able to read the reviews on here of the various watches and their quality, when you know 20 other members have already purchased the specific watch you want from the specific dealer you are talking to. Welcome to the forum.
  4. I like the wiki idea, but it would have to be somewhat hidden in the forum. For example, while you can google all sorts of info and come across RWG, you can not see the info about the TD's without logging in. You would need a similar set up for this wiki, where people agree to a set of rules before getting to see the info, for the protection of the TD's. There are threads that have a lot of this info pinned at the top of the forums, but many of the links in them are dead.
  5. That link just brought me to the Bvlgari home page. Can you do a photo grab?
  6. If you bought a used gen, it should hold its value better. What would the BK rep be worth if the gold plate was worn looking?
  7. One of my colleagues has that watch. I was not aware it was available as a rep. It does draw a lot of attention as it is like a piece of coal. The great thing about it is that while being all black, the different textures, or reflectiveness of the different surfaces make it quite readable. I imagine a lot of anti reflective work went into it. It is my favourite Hublot watch by a long shot. Where did you buy it? How does it compare to the gen?
  8. What kind of movement do you plan on putting in it?
  9. I very rarely complement other people's watches, except if it is something quite unusual like a Lange or a Breguet. It seems too obvious to complement a Rolex or Panerai, as they are brands that everyone knows. I have complimented G Shocks, as most g shock owners are watch enthusiasts.
  10. I agree with the above. If it is the watch you really want, maybe the gen is worth it. Also I dont think I would enjoy a plated watch as I would always be worried that I would scratch through the plating.
  11. Ah, here we go. Seems like a bit of a bargain. http://www.rwg.cc/topic/143408-lv-sub-grate-grate-quality-only-89/
  12. Maybe you could get BK to work it over. The CG's will probably wear themselves down over time. You could make a franken with using no tools other than a lighter.
  13. Anyone know where I can get a rep of this? $40 seems a bit steep to me. Especially with the terrible endlinks, and the misplaced cyclops. http://gizmodo.com/5907895
  14. The word Cordovan, derives its name from the city of Cordoba Spain, where it was originally prepared, and refers to the fibrous flat muscle beneath the hide leather from the back end of a horse. The term Cordwainer is derived from Cordovan, and is the English name for a decorative leather worker. There is a statue of a Cordwainer in London near St Pauls Cathedral, where Cordwainers hall used to stand. I think that it is unlikely that only one firm in Chicago produces cordovan, as it is extensively used in the manufacture of good leather shoes. Maybe this firm has a copyright on the name, but I cant imagine that no one else makes this type of leather.
  15. Which TD's have a good selection of ladies watches? I'm not finding much on perfect clones.
  16. i look forward to your review of the Bvlgari one. The description says it is made of brass and Stainless Steel, which prob means you wont have a gold plate problem with it.
  17. Cool. Hopefully you will hear back from them soon, and write a review once the watch arrives.
  18. I see you like the two tone reps. One of the good things about stainless steel reps is that they maybe wear a bit better. You don't have to worry about a scratch in the gold plating. I have never however owned a gold rep, so hopefully other members can chime in with advice.
  19. I have been thinking of getting a nice rep for my wife, maybe a Cartier tank. There do not seem to be many on the TD sites I have looked at. Can anyone recommend a good one?
