  1. Thx all The 46mm size is definitely the problem for B&R watches, besides the fact that you like or hate the square design. The 42 mm version is a good average, although I still find that quite big : square watches wear much bigger.
  2. Hi folks, I was about to sell my 39mm Bell&Ross, as I found the original strap (leather or rubber) not complying to my taste and "quality" requirements... when I had the good idea to look at Jiro's collection and discovered a velcro strap, made to measure. The second I saw it, it had to be mine, and I must say that it gave my rep a new look which I'm absolutely fond of ! Gasgasbones (strap dealer on RWI) will manufacture the strap exactly to the case and your wrist's measures. So, small wrists like mine won't look ridiculous with a huge velcro I'd like to share some pics of my new toy. Hope the B&R fans will enjoy, even if that rep is a fantasy...
  3. I'd see your PAM on my wrist too... Perfect combination with the leather jacket
  4. 1st and 2nd are very tight... Let's get some more votes
  5. BTW, which version is this one ? There are reps between 80 and 200 dollars I mean, what explains this huge price difference ? And where will we surely get the right version ?
  6. Thx for this review : I have been thinking about getting it now and then. But there are several reps on the market, and I'm afraid to get the worst. Also I was very doubtful about the strap quality. You raised my doubts on this specific question. I hate cheap straps, and for this rep, impossible to change it. Very interesting, really.
  7. I like both. If you take the version without AR, I would rather advise the white dial.
  8. Sorry Ken, these pics are not from Andrew, for sure. Look at the background. Am I wrong ?
  9. The VCO is really a gorgeous (affordable) rep. It just has *#!* screws on its bracelet, which is a pain to resize.
  10. Good idea... Although I find the PVD finish excellent and virtually not distinguisable from the brushed ceramic. Of course, probably not as solid.
  11. Hi, I'm regularly buying there, especially for the cheaper reps, which are really...cheaper Buying there means you know what you look for and also that you know what are the frequent and typical misrepresentations / descriptions. The chances to be scammed or to be disappointed because you don't get what you thought are definitely higher. But again, if you know what you look for and don't deal with the unknown dealers (with 0 local ratings), you might find interesting to buy there. What I got there, from 2 dealers mainly : B&R 01-92 reduced (103 dollars hipped), IWC Portuguese Quartz (75 dollars shipped), VC Tonneau fantasy (75 dollars shipped), VC Malta Chrono with ST-19 movement (200 dollars shipped), Omega Seamaster 007 L.E. (100 dollars shipped) Besides I bought my HBB lite and chinese Nautilus through my favorite dealer Mark : he had no problem sourcing them. Which I appreciate particularly is to pay less than 20 dollars for an EMS shipment. And also the fact that you can negociate the prices easily. All watches received were as ordered and without defect. The only issue for the moment is concerning the movement in my Nautilus (see my review), and I'm pretty sure that's not related to the dealer but to the manufacturer. Lower prices, but also much higher prices for some reps we know. That's important to mention. Again, it's not due to iOffer, but to the dealer you have to carefully choose (same rule as everywhere). Honestly, this also means I have not tested the efficiency of these dealers in case of problem... as there was no problem. Stay careful and realistic , you might do real good bargains. Don't be naive too, there are many scammers and many incompetent sellers who don't know really what they're selling, I mean they have very few knowledges about watches and reps. Globally the experience was good for me. Agreed.
  12. Hi, you can find them here : http://www.ultralux.ch/d_onlinestore_produ...tid=7&id=28 http://www.planetwatches.co.uk/Kalashnikov...e_AK228202.html http://www.sporttek.co.uk/Kalashnikov_Just...ab0e140fa612639 From time to time there are some on ebay too. The Festina Mambo was found on ebay, you can get one for around 100 EUR. http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?f...&category0= http://search.ebay.de/search/search.dll?fr...&category0= The strap was bought separately (PAM style) Hope this helps.
  13. i voted for azgjav although I love sql_plc's shot...But not for the same reasons... The crown reflecting the glass of red wine is an original way to include the contest's theme in a watch, whereas most others included a watch in the theme... Ola's lips are sensual, and that's one of the reason why I would vote for this pic as a second choice (beside the fact that the shot is crystal clear and sharp, which make you want touch the screen )
  14. Update on 26th october The chinese copy of the thai MBK Patek Philippe Nautilus joined the family A real beauty... with some disapointments behind however (see the review)
  15. Wow, that's what I call a review ! The Ingenieur might be the missing one in my Nautilus/Royal Oak/VCA trilogy Thx for the huge job and precious information.
  16. Fantastic dial ! I'm really curious in seeing the final result.
  17. Hi, I'm wondering about the background of the thread... If the intention is to say "don't hide defects in watches for sales", that makes sense. But again, you don't need Photoshop to cheat : have the problematic part of the watch not pictured, hide you have a defective movement etc... The question is not about using artifices, but about being honest. I think there's no direct relation between both things.
  18. Hiding a defect is condemnable. But you don't need PS for that...
  19. Hi, legitimate question. Well, sharing pictures is for me a big part of the hobby. And I can't imagine sharing poor pictures, even if I sometimes do What's the difference between a photoshoped picture and a raw one taken in excellent light condition and 0 reflection situation ? Does one have to post ugly pictures to show how a watch is ? Where's the limit between reality and arranged shots ? I think you can see "the real" thing from some of the dealer's pictures, and also everyone should think before buying : for instance, if a watch is advertized without AR, but appears without reflection on pics, and unless the reviewer specifically comments that the reflection is absent/present, the reader should wonder and consider that the picture has been receiving some "make-up". And make-up is just highliting the existing beauty ( (a lady, please step in... ) In any case, he can ask the reviewer about any information he needs to make his decision. One should not believe pictures only. Basically, all pictures around, in any catalogue and on many websites have been photoshoped. When I look at a watch shot, my expectation is to "tease my eyes", not to watch at a documentary or a dissection. That's my hobby, that's my pleasure, I like to share it, but won't share it "under conditions". I don't want to endorse the responsibilty of someone else's purchase (good or bad).
