  1. Nice one ! I'd like to know if the inside edges of the double deployant clasp are polished or if you can see the "raw" steel ? Also, how easy/difficult are the links to remove ? (I have two reps where it's a nightmare, and I decided to pay 200% attention on that from now on) Thx
  2. No, no jewelry... (where's the"gay" button)... Basically watches are in my eyes the best men's jewelries. And of course I wear my wedding ring. My wife offered me a curb chain. Never worn it I'm more in nice clothes than jewelry I must say. I would not say no to an other ring.
  3. I feel like Captain Nemo today...
  4. Will Switzerland soon make reps of Chinese genuine movements..?
  5. Chinese as well... You all know I'm cheap Have a look in my signature, I reviewed the thing. For the Sellita, I know it's not worse and not probably cheaper, just different. And it tends to replace the ETA in reps as well, due to ETA getting more and more expensive. BTW, as these movements are not available for sales (I mean at our level), I think that basically no one can really say how cheaper/expensive they are. @Jeff : can you prove it ?
  6. A lot. Thx AZ So... - defective Swiss ETA ? - exotic thing ? (it's golden plated)
  7. I second that PZ... Just wondering who did it wrong (if it's really an exotic movement) : manufacturer or dealer ? I doubt the dealer could guess what's inside. Sorry, same old question : does anyone have experience with the Sellita ?
  8. Mmm...that's why I corrected my initial post. I'm afraid there's a misunderstanding on my question (sorry for the bad phrasing). So I'm back to the first feeling. What's in this Nautilus ? Runs 28,8 kbph, rotor winds only in one direction. Datewheel looks like the one in my AP, which is confirmed to be an ETA 2824. I have opened the thing already, but can't access the back of the movement, and I won't force it down, I would bend the stem. It seems indeed, as suggested before, that removing the hands and the dial are compulsory
  9. Small evening shot... Sorry, the colour is not accurate (light's not adapted). It's Chinese, but not crappy More in the small review I'm preparing for the W.E.
  10. Mmm, if we all behave this way, the problems will never be raised
  11. Well, it's unfortunately very unlikely that someone has both, to make a real comparison I'm ready to do it...provided TTK sends me a free sample
  12. TTK, you just made my day ! A deep thank you. I must run and apologize to my dealer. Any idea however how to remove this bl**dy thing from the case ?
  13. BTW, Piratedzeus, I don't think that the movement is a chinese thing, because the seconds hand sweeps perfectly smoothly, i.e. I am 99% sure it is a 28.8 kbph movement. so : - Sellita ? - defective ETa-2824 ? - Asian clone of the 2824 ?
  14. I fully agree !! BTW, how do you remove the movement on the MBK ? I won't be able to prove anything until I have not taken a picture of this movement. I DO NOT believe it has a defect by only winding in one direction (it keeps perfect time) but that IT IS NOT an ETA. Things like that happen, but I can't define who lied...
  15. From the bracelet point of view there's no doubt for me the VCO is better. Then, for the case, both are very good, with an advantage of more job on the VCO (remember the caseback). To date, the VCO bracelet is the best I've seen, except its "stuck" screws, which require an MD-40 bath to unscrew.
  16. It is, as it's a double deployant. The comfort is comparable to the VCO. Not the finish : mirror polished but not on the sides.
  17. Montblanc was the brand that made me enter the watch rep world. And the Timewalker is a good illustration of how worth it was : the rep is excellent. The gen too I'd love to see a good MB Star rep.
  18. Finally got this Gasgasbones' custom strap in time to participate the thread ! My B&R suddenly became much more attractive in my eyes... Thx Jiro, as you showed me the way
  19. Sure. That's always the risk when looking for cheaper alternatives. Till now (Breitling & Hublot) I only had good experiences with this philosophy. Which is sure is that I DO NOT want to spend more than 300 USd (was 250 before these days) in a single watch, to spread the risk in case of failure. It's very easy : I prefer to buy 2 watches for 425 than 1. Also, it is obvious that I have to clarify if the movement delivered is the one advertized : not only for me, but for those who might choose the cheaper way too. And again, up to now, all the things I've been telling do not make this watch a bad rep at all. The look and feel is unique, although I think there is much less job on a Nautilus (MBK or not) than on other reps of this price level, and can't explain why it's sold so expensive : what might be true for genuines (development, choice of materials, marketing, quality control, reputation of the brand) does not apply in the rep world. There's no reason a Patek rep costs more than a Vacheron Constantin rep (I'm comparing the Nautilus and the Overseas here).
  20. The case construction is excellent. But simple. The crown is not a screw-in type. As for many reps however, I find the steel a bit soft, which means it may scratch easily. However, as it's plain steel, it's easy to fix. The clasp is average. And mine has a defect on the inside (OK, I'm the only one to know it) My VC Overseas deployant is much better...for cheaper.
  21. Hi, hopefully this week-end. One thing is already sure : doubts on the movement, and no way to check it. Sh*t screws in the bracelet, otherwise gorgeous look and blue dial. Ideally I should have the MBK to compare Basically I've decided to wait at least one week before reviewing anything, this allows to discover things that can't be seen at a first glance. Like this movement thing for instance. New call : any hint to remove it or is it condamned to stay in its box forever ? That sounds odd for a future servicing.
  22. Possible indeed, which would explain why I paid 280 shipped for it instead of 348 (can't complain against the other version but need to know what I got...) What I'd like to do is check and prove it objectively, in order to have things smoothly settled with the dealer, provided that he was aware of this difference Is this CN- ETA 2824 the real clone we know (with compatible parts, as reviewed by The Zigmeister) or just one of these usual white lies (i.e. BS !!)
  23. Hi, I have noticed that the movement seems to wind in only one direction (on the watchwinder, not speaking of winding the crown). So I have doubts that it might be disturbed in the case, or that it's not a genuine Swiss ETA, but a copy or the now well-known Sellita SW-200 (potential succcessor of the ETA 2824). Does anyone know how these normally behave, I mean from the winding point of view. I'd love to check that, as I intend to review the thing. But it's impossible to remove the movement. The watch does not open on the caseback, but from the front. So I have the dial in front of me and have no access to the stem release button. Any hint ?
