  1. Hi, back to this topic. Anyone knows if this movement only winds in one direction, or is it bi-directionnal like its ETA counter-part ? As I actually have a strong doubt on the Chinese rep of the Nautilus MBK : it winds in only one direction. I'll open it tonight, but am almost prety sure it's not an ETA inside.
  2. New update today, 14th october - finally I managed to make two new overall shots, as my beloved Overseas came back some days ago - added the light HBB version : maybe lite, but a damn chunky watch, with excellent finishing. This is my first 7750 ever You'll see on the pics that a PP Nautilus and a B&R 01-92 joined recently too These will be reviewed asap. I'm particularly exited about the B&R, as I ordered a custom made strap from Gasgasbone (strap maker on RWI)
  3. Mmm...So I'm maybe going to allow me some other shots too Good idea : there have been lovely pictures these days.
  4. Hi, in the meantime you can try to survive with the Quartz version Link1 Link2 Link3 Then, it's a question of expectation in the replication and the acceptance of a Quartz movement (which I personally have no problem with).
  5. Sure, sometimes there's an unexplainable thing that leads a team to victory. Is that called Faith ? Anyway, England, Argentina or South Africa : they've all shown a marvellous game... Except England... Just kidding. I must say I have never really been a rugby fan, but this time something was really different. There's one image that impressed me and which I want to remember from this World Cup "Twenty-two angry men shuffling up across the half-way line to snarl at the All Blacks' haka while being led by an apparently frothing neanderthal." = :chabal:
  6. Good Luck against South Africa.
  7. Patek Philippe Nautilus (Jumbo)
  8. I agree. Through a pure and simple design, the Curvex Cintr
  9. Good bargain. I have 2 <100 dollars winders. Look great. One has become noisy after a few monthes, the other one is still silent. Worth the money.
  10. How does a replica's replica look like ?
  11. The manufacturers are known for not selling spare parts... Some dealers probably have good connections and might do an effort for you, but I have not met so many.
  12. Yeah, I was just thinking the same They are strong at R&D, but should improve on marketing...
  13. I have an appointment this friday with a buddy to check if he can do it or not. I can't do it myself, too scary.
  14. This lite version is probably a "smart" way to decrease the anyway too high prices.
  15. I agree on the fact that the problem is how to pop up this crystal : I'm currently trying to have my lite HBB Ar'ed. It's really a great watch ! It deserves AR. The group buy and the logics against the "full version" makes sense : why pay 150 dollars more ?
  16. Jiro, that B&R rocks with this strap ! It just makes it unique. Excellent choice !
  17. Hi Folks Today my Patek 5070 chrono.
  18. Mine is synthetic. Natural rubber is surely rare and expensive. I suppose at least.
  19. Thx all Ajoesmith : I meant the setting of the watchwinder must be clockwise. So I suppose that the 7750 I have winds anti-clockwise. Well... Not sure in fact. (Sorry, I'm zero @ geometrics and that kind of things...) What is sure is that this HBB does not wind with my other Asian 21J movements. @Gargoil : I'm afraid you'll experience the clasp problem if you wear it semi-loose. But you can fix that by sticking a pad on it. I wear it tight. Edit Ajoesmith : yes, sorry, I meant the rotor winding.
  20. Hi, here are two new shots. Sorry, I don't have the other in Hi-res anymore...
  21. Some other shots, which finally won't apply for the contest. Please consider them off-contest. Theme : Wild life Comments : This picture is in my opinion not my best one, technically. The light is not as good as the other I enclose off-contest. I had to play a bit with Photoshop to have it more eye-catching. But for me the challenge was to get this butterfly close to my watch. And I spent a while before that happened. Well, it's not pure chance, because I know these flowers are one appreciated dish of this species Date : taken 7th october 2007 (see Exif Datas for the detailed characteristics). You can also see the date on the watch itself. On the third picture, the watch is... on the church in the backgound...
  22. Here's my last contribution in TWP's contest on RWG. The wine theme is within constest. Theme : Wine Comments : It took me a while before I reached the result I looked for : something sharp but not too artificial. Mixing dusty old things and a recent watch is not a natural step. Finally, although I'm a red wine amateur, I chose a bottle of white wine that let the light (here a torch lamp) go through it, and took my blingest watch to marry it : I do feel that gold and white wine are a pretty nice combination. I enclosed the hi-res shot for those who would like to use it as a wallpaper (thx TWP for the suggestion), as well as other off-contest shots of the same series. This wine is a white Graves (Bordeaux) from... 1949 ! Date : taken 7th october 2007 (see Exif Datas for the detailed characteristics). You can also see the date on the watch itself. Auto-satisfaction is not my cup of tea, but I'd like to say that I never thought I would produce pictures like that. Before I joined RWG, I had never used my digital camera out of the automatic mode. Thanks to the tips and tricks found on this very board, I have been really enthusiastic in taking pictures. Especially Pug's guides and more recently Jiro's advice. Thanks both
