  1. Gorgeous *cough* manucure...
  2. Hi, that's my alternative mean of payment, when PP is not accepted. Never had problems so far. Some dealers even grant you a small discount when you use this method, as fees are shared by the seller and the buyer. I never experienced any trouble. I don't know how they handle claims however, compared to PP.
  3. Mmm... Without seeking too much : - Tag Aquaracer (blue) : I'll definitely buy it, just a question of time and raising funds - IWC Cousteau Diver - HBB, but I'm afraid that's something I'll never own : way too expensive for me. I would seriously consider raising funds if it would reach levels under 350. - a decent Longines. Something simple. - IWC Portuguese : well, due to "technical" reasons I ordered a quartz version. Hope it will be acceptable Also I'd love a flying Tourbillon (Breguet or VC), but here too, I'm afraid I won't ever own one, that's too much money in a single rep.
  4. Well... Whatever the explanation (excuse ?) is, I am not an expert. But amongst my various reps, those beating at 28800 run smoothly, the others less... As easy as that.
  5. Great thread ! An opportunity to take new shots of my SLR. Reviewed here and kindly included in BT's guide.
  6. Should be stopped advertized as a 28800 bph...
  7. River's MontBlanc GMT with a custom strap.
  8. You mean we're all hunters ?
  9. Sure, the movement is too different, I thought about the ST-19 mainly due to the dial layout. The rest has almost nothing to do. But as the movement is hidden in this watch, that would not be a big issue. The issue is indeed this one button chrono. Let's just dream about the gen.
  10. Mmm... did not pay attention to that. The movement animation on their site is jut gorgeous.
  11. Good choice, and great price. For those who care a bit less about exact replication, there still can be fun in sourcing reps, I mean get your new toy without going bankrupt ! I adhere to this philosophy and thank all people (including you TJ) who made me discover additional sources. :cc_chinese:
  12. Updated on 8th september - added my latest Omega Seamaster : a damn good bargain. Small review and more pictures here. - withdrawn the HBB Quartz : it was close to good. Unfortunately the RG plating was not satisfying for me. Hope to find the same in SS colour...or that the 7750 version gets reasonably priced - updated the 2 overview to a higher definition My VC Overseas is repaired and on its way back... I feel better now I start enjoying the result more and more, although still far from the collections of some of our esteemed members.
  13. http://anonym.to//http://www.montblanc.com...lleret_1858.php It seems MB has developped a new range together with Minerva. The dial is ideally designed for our Seagull ST-19 (the mistakenly called Lemania clone) Hope to see this once in our corner : when you see how well the Timewalker series was repped, I would love a nice rep of this Villeret range. And BTW, some decent one of the Stars series : the only one we got are average.
  14. Dear Mademoiselle V. indeed the portuguese is a very classy watch : I will buy a quartz version of it to avoid any seconds@6 issue. I know you have no problem with cheaper reps, which make us "compatible" to some extent Here's what I would suggest : http://www.ioffer.com/i/28218977 Ideally you should try to get it from Ruby or some dealer who accepts hunting for you. As the problem is that none of our usual dealers carrry this particular one. Be carefull, the seconds subdial has a useless (wrong) marking. The same exist with the correct marking, but obviously not in gold. http://www.ioffer.com/i/IWC-Portuguese-Qua...-watch-27151161 The second I would suggest is a skeletton IWC with (faux) minute repeater, or without. Auto movement and no 7750, so no problem of seconds@6. PC has a promotion (free carriage) on the RG one : http://www.perfectclones88.com/iw01001-jon...ges-p-1969.html That one is preferred : http://www.perfectclones88.com/iw01003-rep...tas-p-2556.html For all of them, I would suggest a genuine croc or alligator (glossy) chestnut strap... Hope this helps. I'll surely soon review the Quartz portuguese. We still did not find which watch Audrey Tautou's wearing, but I feel that Sophie Marceau's one might be acceptable
  15. Happy father's day ! Strange, we have it in June here... And I agree, seeing one's daughter and wife come and tell you you're the best father in the World is something which has no price !
  16. Hi, I have no source about what I'm saying, but just a brain that makes me think that there's no japanese 7750. I think that some sellers (and probably not the best) use the wording "japanese movement" to make buyers think they buy some great stuff. Japan is in Asia, isn't it ? That surely make the buyer more confident : an other white lie ? I doubt any counterfeit goods are done in Japan. I am pretty sure that the Asian 7750 as we know it is a chinese movement. Chinese can also make good movements (I'm not speaking of this 7750, as I don't own any) : look at the Sea-Gull ST19 (mistakenly called Lemania or Venus), or as said before, some very simple "Asian 21J" that last long
  17. Shame on me, sometimes I'm not reasonable... Do you know what the crown at 10 stand for ? I can unscrew it, that's all. Some He valve or something ??
  18. Thanks all, for the advice and also for pointing out the flaws. Well, I knew this was a fantasy edition, but the 80 dollars paid and the all black dial/datewheel made me go for it at the end... And I must say I'm glad with this choice. A new field for me, which I never thought to go to some time ago. Some words about this purchase : the watch came pretty dirty, it seems this sometimes happen especially for reps with SS bracelets. Some WD-40 and wax later, the matter was solved. You'll see the bezel is not perfectly aligned, and neither is the pearl. The crystal says "sapphire" after the water drop test. The bracelet and clasp feel really robust and the engravings are nicely deep, as I like : no laser etching. Overall a good value for money, nice toy for someone who is not looking for a faithful replication. That let me own a type of rep I would never have bought for 250+... Here's my favorite part : shooting ! BTW, these were my first shots with my new polarizing filter. @Pug, if you read me, I did not need to adjust the position of the filter, as this one is a circular polarizer. I don't know the difference with the others, but the result is satisfying for me, although I expected a bit more, especially for the glass surfaces.
  19. Looks really nice ! In any case far better than the socalled "Porsche Design" reps, which I have always found below average.
  20. Tissot manufactures nice and high quality watches (although they are in the mid-range gap) for affordable prices, often under some of our expensive reps... Excellent choice.
