  1. I'm sure AR is still a plus (even if it brings minor? disadvantages of scratches/fingerprints), but we may certainly agree that it's less necessary on a white dial... And true, if you replace (once dead) the movement with its Miyota counterpart, it's probably a watch that will last for years and which one will wear without any fear that the screws or bezel fall down... I don't say I would not buy an ETA based SFSO (this watch is really awesome), just I can't afford it, or better said I can afford 2 good reps for the price, which is an option I personally prefer. I'm sure the blue dial with AR rocks !
  2. How the price of this really top quality Asian rep is just amazing... Bring us more like these ! And one thing... If any dealer ever read this : how about also selling spare movements, the same way "servicing" or "waterproofing" or, more recently shown "QC!!" ? These movements are surely very inexpensive, and even with a large margin from the dealer, they might avoid many headaches (just swap the movement once dead). I'm sure that an Asian 21J at 40 USD and a 7750 under 100 USD would meet many potential buyers requirements.
  3. Oh, OK, you mean keyholders and that kind of funny stuff... I'd like one that glows when I whistle I guess watches aren't concerned as the contained quantity of Tritium material is negligible.
  4. Cableguy, are you sure ? http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?f...&category0= Maybe you mean Tritium under an other shape as in watches..?
  5. ...Pug, I wouldn't have said it better Here are some other information I found. I suppose that "trazer" is a brand name for Tritium tubes. Here's a "night" shot for Kenberg : difficult to judge how it glows. If I take the Seiko Lumibrite right after exposed to light, Tritium is probably 10 times weaker. But ..! after a while, Tritium looks brighter, all night long...all night ! Very important : the "pearl" and seconds hand are lumed, the other markers and main hands have Tritium vials. That gives a rough idea of the difference.
  6. ...and if so, I guess one would be charged *cough* a super Superrep price...
  7. Interesting indeed, I did not know that Tritium paint was still used. In fact I thought that it had been replaced by Tritium vials, while both seem to co-exist actually. Better not to have Tritium paint in reps, unless they are proven to be waterproof... or unless replica paint -aka superb lume
  8. Could this mean we might touch the rep for a realistic price ? If only...
  9. Sorry, my English knowledge does not enable me to really understand the difference between Miss and Mrs... So for me it will be Mademoiselle.
  10. I apologize in advance for what I'm going to write, but... Mrs Victoria, it seems that it's not that "side" of sex we're talking about with the HBB... Of course, I don't mean it as seriously as I seem to... I'm not blaming the buyers really, and understand the satisfaction one can have wearing the BB. I do respect their choice. What makes me sick is this silly game from the manufactdealers, that turn a dry Asian movement based replica into a luxury watch.
  11. Excellent job, that makes you surely wear the watch with 10 times more pride/pleasure.
  12. May I remind my Grandma's locution... "Every morning an idiot wakes up...find him and you will be rich..." Sorry, I don't like to judge people, and I won't as far as the HBB buyers are concerned : they all have a beautiful watch and I envy them for sure. But hell, stop encouraging the scam orchestration : this watch is in no way worth more than 300 bucks !!! It has been proven, qualitywise and from the components side. Vote with your wallet..! Do it now, or you'll soon get 1000 dollars Big Bangs with "triple ceramic wrap and ultra thick plating with superb lume that kills your eyes". Stop it now... BTW, just bought a Quartz HBB on CQ** I also want to look marvelous... That cost me 35 pounds Mouhhaahhha !
  13. As I am just buying a Quartz Aquaracer, those who would like (later on) to get rid of their rubber strap, please make me offers in PM. Thx, and sorry for the O.T.
  14. Let's apply a bit of this radioactive paint... Sorry for the large size... Anim takes a bit to start (1 Mbyte).
  15. When I saw the logo and the font, I thought something was very wrong... Maybe that was me But I don't like the shape of both, I'm sure I would get questionned if I wore that.
  16. @WW The red figure is reminding the day of the week : 5 = Friday... As easy and useless as that You can choose an other layout and just have the day names, as usual. I chose this layout for...colour reasons against the dial Here's St
  17. Hi, well, let's start with an "old fashion" lesson I was taught younger : - men wear their watches on the left wrist - women on the right... Actually I'm a lefty (is that the right word ?) and wear my watch mainly on the left wrist. Except when it's too large and that the crown comes dig into my flesh : then I simply wear it on the right side. As you see, the choice is more lead by practical considerations.
  18. Well, I have come to think one can have good (enough) watches, gens or reps, between 200 and 400 dollars... Sometimes used, sometimes outlets, sometimes from *bay... That's my credo, and that's why I will never spend more in a watch... Of course, when one enters the gold or platine field, diamonds or specific movements, it's an other story. Personally, better have three 250 dollars watches than, err... *cough* ... a HBB ? (sorry owners, I love this watch too)
  19. I have been following that Colt for a while (especially the white), for a 39mm chrono does not bother my smallish wrist. TT said it was discontinued, and I'm glad it pops up again here. The case and caseback look better than the usual cheap Breitlings, and personnally I feel more comfortable with a Quatrz chrono. But I agree, Yachymeter or Yachim
  20. Anytime ! Next time I'll cross your country (sometime in september), we could have a Kriek together... Well, I'm truely glad this Tissot still catches so many members attention ! That's my reward
  21. Thx both For the lume, I don't know, the Tissot has not spent the night with me yet. Tonight's the prima nocte... But for sure, it glowes very strongly the first minutes. There's a black version too, I was a bit afraid of light reflection, so I took the white. No AR...That's cheap !
  22. Hi, if the guy was really a boards member, he would have noticed the Pearl not aligning with the 12 and the thick date frame...
  23. I assume this is Superluminova and not just Superb Lume
  24. Hi, these must be Tritium vials. It has become very common to replace past (forbidden) radioactive paints. Here's one watch I reviewed : http://www.rwg.cc/members/Not-a-rep-not-a-...ere-t35656.html Indeed it's glowing always, but not as strongly as Superlume. [Edit] Soryy, did not read in detail. seems some mix of both technologies...
