  1. @Pug & Euno : thx, I was afraid I got something broken
  2. Brother or...sister..? It seems that Mine is an esteemed member there, so I vote for him/her too
  3. Hi Richard, a really nice Breitling you have there. The colour makes it really unique : after all, we always have white, black and blue... That's a watch I would proudly wear, if it was a bit smaller. Is the strap the one you got with it, as it looks too good for a rep strap. For the seconds @3, there have been some topics already, but I think it's worth asking again : is this really a new movement, or a standard 7750 clone put upside down, where only the crown would have been moved ? Would you mind shooting the caseback ? Thx !
  4. Look in my signature, I reviewed the JLC. It's all well, I just regret the loose rotating inner-ring.
  5. @Madame Victoria... I feel the Audrey Tautou touch would suggest no watch, discreetly emphasized by a French manucure...
  6. Last days with my Jaeger LeCoultre, going to be for sale soon...
  7. Love them all, only great looking reps !
  8. Hi, just taking the opportunity of a Monster thread. I have some doubts... Any possibility to wind it manually ? Mine will (easily) auto-wind whenever slightly moved, but no way to hand wind. thx, and sorry for the O.T. issue. PS : the NATO strap looks great, have to make my mind on that for my orange one.
  9. Hiding a watch in cheap speakers or a toy is a joke : who will buy cheap things by EMS of whatever Courrier Service from the other side of the world ? That will just attract customs attention if they open your parcel. The best way IMO is to ship the rep as a fantasy watch, gift with a value of 30 dollars or so. Most people don't know about all the watch brands...including customs. I am doing so when shipping to the US, and did so the one time I had to ship something back to Singapore. I would send a registered airmail (no Courrier service), as it's cheaper, pretty safe and it seems it's less controled. No registration might tease undelicate people's attention. Last thing, I fully agree : the dealer should tell you exactly what he wants.
  10. To avoid this exchange rate problem, the repmakers should...mmm... manufacture reps in Europe !
  11. Wow... My turn in 3 days. That smells good ! And yes, the white Tissot is a must have ! (and seems waterproof ) >> Stephane, I wouldn't do that too often, 50m waterproofness is not enough. Look at that bracelet...
  12. Hi, never after a certain time, but usually he's willing to help. Which I would guess here, is that he would have the watch fixed provided that you ship it back at your costs. It seems the Asian "ETA" 2813 is a clone of the Miyota 8215 http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showto...=steelfish+lite Don't know, maybe it's worth thinking swapping it, and you'll have a very reliable rep after that. They sell at 30 EUR. That's just a theory, should be validated in the adequate section.
  13. Has anyone got a SW200 movement with an ETA 2824-2 engraving ?
  14. That's good for them That also means that the "swiss" movements in our reps might be more difficult to get on the mid-term... or that, as it's already the case sometimes, that we'll get used or franken ones.
  15. You're right, 800 is...stupid. That's the right word. And it did not take 200 dollars due to exchange rate problems, just due to "exchanged" margin considerations. That's really, I mean really lame... I am anyway not a customer for the HBB since it has been high priced since the begining, and apologize if some of the numerous readers may be disturbed by the (my) growing complaints, but now, we have reached a peak. Then again, as long as it will sell, dealers will continue this game. I hate that and it's killing the hobby. Angus or whoever, you launched the thread to tease us : please pop in and explain the reason why this specific model has reached this price. Just bought a Tissot PRS516 on *bay from Singapore for... 260 dollars shipped, with 12 monthes worldwide warranty and a Swiss movement. I would never have done that before. But middle-range gens have become more affordable than reps !!! Nothing to do with the HBB from the "prestige" point of view, but at least I know I get a watch which will not have me cry or complain everytime I look at it. Doh ! Is it me who writes that ?! Am I fed up with reps ? No, I'm fed up with this vast joke in pricing !
  16. Sure, the Asian 7750 is recognized as a good movement once serviced, that makes this HBB 920 + something... Mmm... Not far from the 1000. The true problem seems to happen when you try to disassemble this rep (look at the link to ZZ post, it's really worth reading and shows how few attention is brought to a so expensive watch during the manufacturing process. There are surely explanations for that, but there are much better constructed reps around for much cheaper.) So why is this one problematic ? Maybe just because it's a normal rep, as many others, with the "only" advantage it has a killer look. Externally it's gorgeous, I can't agree more. And I suppose that every owner of the HBB is an happy one. For the time being. One should not automatically think about the gen's value to justify the rep's one. There's no relation. I have a 100 dollars Vacheron which looks great and accurate (from the front side), whereas the original model is more than 50 K... And there are many nice PATEKs around for also less than 150 dollars. Needless to mention that I have a VC Overseas which is a damn both excellent watch and rep, which you can get for 250 dollars against 8K+ for the gen. So the ratio 800/13 000 is IMO very bad. But again, that's not where we should judge the HBB, at least not where I would judge it. Have the hands issues settled, the stickers things, the bracelet clasp digging into your flesh, make it 300 dollars, or maybe 350 for the super-gold-bling one, then it would become a good if not the best bargain around, although it still would be over the budget I usually grant in reps. What a shock when it stops ticking and you can't have it serviced or repaired. In my eyes, the worst thing is that, even if you have enough cash to franken this beautiful piece of watch into a Swiss 7750, noone will do it, as it's just a nightmare, according to The Zigmeister, once again, which I tend to believe
  17. 768 from TT... + 30 dollars EMS. So, the 800 dollars mentionned by P4 are correct.
  18. If collectors continue buying them everytime the "auction" is increasing, they'll soon sell it for 800... The "cheapest" HBB is 400... You can paint it any colour, put any kind of small ceramic slice, nothing can justify the 300 dollars difference... No offense to the HBB owners, it's a really gorgeous watch, but let me be a fool this time and summarize the manufacturers/dealers thoughts by an old locution (could be from Lao Tseu...or from my grand'ma, god bless her soul) : Every morning an idiot wakes up, you just have to find him... :cc_chinese: Sorry, I really don't mean to offend any member, just totally upset by such pricing for an Asian movement. There are MBW around with a Swiss movement for much less. And yes, how's a croocked logo possible at such price levels ?
  19. Mmm... The question is to know if this is a good news. I mean, the SW200 replacing the ETA 2824, not the refund of course (which is an honorable epilogue). If this decision is "official" most dealers would be inspired to mention the Sellita movement on their websites before some real struggle or "little white lies" issues pop up again. That would be a fair solution, as I now see no problem to buy a Sellita movement... However, I'm really concerned by the potential price difference. You guess why. Besides, I wonder if this concerns all new modells or if older modells are also concerned (I'm thinking of a PATEK thing with an ETA soon).
  20. Hi, isn't the bid price a clue it can only be a fake ? Or are there second hand Rolexes at such prices..? I'm not a Rolex connaisseur, but I would vote for SCAM.
  21. What's wrong with your banner..? I see nothing special nor offending. Keep it, looks great !
  22. And what do you think about having the faulty mention erased ? Maybe these are simple stickers ..?
  23. Thx Kollektor I learnt everything here, on this very board, especially from Pug thanks to his tutorials
  24. Sorry I pointed this out... But you're right, it's unnoticeable with naked eyes... Purchasing a new strap and a deployant is always possible, and that's what I would advise, as the rep straps are very bad to average in general. This Breguet is a nice piece of watch, I love dressy, "old-fashion" timekeepers. I agree on the Vacheron Constantin Tonneau Tourbillon, I find it simply gorgeous...but it's 950 dollars, not negociable (I tried) ... If you have the cash and really want the watch, I think there's no point thinking you could afford 6 subs instead...What for ?
