  1. After several pieces had to go, I'm starting getting new pieces again Here's my Oris Carlos Coste, a damn chunky weird thing
  2. Not sure I would wear this with anything else as a T-shirt Or naked
  3. Hi Folks, I'd like to share a few pics here for those who still wonder about the Beauty of the Beast Again, I think there's no point in making a review as this has been done in the best possible way by SD4K. But I'd like to add my personal experience, as an additional information : - first watch came with the known "reversed SUNday" flaw. Watchmark proposed an exchange without problem. That's a pretty nasty flaw, as even with a basic QC, you can't notice it if you don't look for it specifically. Finally I found a German member who was glad to buy this one from me, as he could live with the flaw and was glad to avoid any customs issue. Happy end. - second watch came about 10 days later, after a detailed QC and new pictures submitted by Mark : I must say that I have not found any flaw yet since I have this OCC home. that's where it is necessary to warn any potential buyer : the OCC has known quality issues, so do not buy it unless you can agree about a careful QC with your favorite dealer. If you don't do so, you're likely to be disappointed. - the flaws mentionned by our members : reversed SUNday (every 2 weeks) on the datewheel, dust under the crystal, stripped screws, too short stem which for some batches prevent a correct tightenning of the crown. And of course, loose bezel. Here's Ajoesmith's experience. - Personal feeling : . that is the biggest watch I've ever worn and one of the thickest I know. But it wears pretty "normal", like a PAM, thanks to the shape of its case, a smaller dial and short lugs. However, you can't cheat on the heigth : it IS thick . the balance between the watch head and the strap might make some of us feel the OCC as uncomfortable : all the weight is on the head. . lume's disappointing, as the hour markers aren't lumed. The rest glows as it should and it is funny to look at the orange turn white when you enter a dark area... . a pleasure to have this in my collection, as it has a real personality. I think that's it... Now let me post my favorite pictures of today's photographic safari
  4. I'm in for that. But I want a free beer at the next CTG And be called Mr Pix... And be loved...
  5. This beast arrived today (incredibly fast, I'm wondering why sometimes it needs 4 days and sometimes 10). My second PAM, a 243 with my favorite (unknown) strap. I find the rubber strap a bit cheap, or is it only me ? Now the question : send it for Ar or not ? Excellent lume, but a flaw in the pearl. And my cheap PAM box
  6. Thx for your comments Be sure that if for any reason something goes wrong, you will be 100% refunded But I'm pretty sure you'll like it. For the pics, actually you can have a look at them in the link in my signature (the one mentionning the Gasgasbone's strap). For reference, this B&R takes one minute a day and has no lume on its hands. Other than that, it just looks very good and has no physical flaw ! Keep in touch... I've just learnt something today : indeed, next sale will be saved as a .pdf and sent to the buyer, it's a key to a flawless transaction : compare what you got and what you bought. Makes sense.
  7. Wrong, I NEVER delete my ads, as I want to stay clear in case of problem. And the explanation of hidden thread is IMO the one and only. BTW, if by chance it concerns the B&R I sold you, what did you want to check, maybe I can help ? FYI, your watch will reach you if not today, within 48 hours. 7-10 days is a usual transit time between E.U. and the East-Coast.
  8. Today, finally, my VCO (1st generation) with K2222's AR coating... Actually it's my first AR coating on a white dial : I don't think I'll do it on anything else than black or blue in the future. It's surely better, but not as thrilling as on black Besides, this is still the "old" AR from K2222, who in the meantime brought a close to perfect AR, which you hardly notice. I'm sure it would look fantastic on white... Mmm... let me think. shall I coat the thing again ? This VCO has a long story and is probably the rep I have had the most fixed. I would never have done it on an other (movement repair, new bracelet, AR coating) and probably a DW swap anytime soon : as you see, the 27th is stripped. And as I started the adventure with my beloved VCO, it's likely I'll have a cross swap. Came from Sashwatch (Brandon) one year ago.
  9. Too early to say for me. I have the feeling that my second one is better than the 1st, as with the 1st I really realized our true SD4K's comment were.
  10. So, back to the best solution, it seems the Tuiga is the winner : - closed caseback - smooth dial I'd love a correct Tuiga from this second manufacturer, i.e. under 500 USD.
  11. I'm afraid that's a risky idea : if you tell this to some dealers, they will provide you this service for 50 dollars, the same way they provide servicing and waterproofing : you pay and get nothing done And if you're lucky enough, you won't notice it. The safest way is to establish a decent relationship with one dealer I'm afraid, and ask for pictures before shipment. It's not 100% secure, but at least you can check for obvious physical flaws. No time to take pics ? Then change your dealer. And I agree, why protecting those that don't do the job they are claiming to do (i.e. no dropshipping, "personally hand picked reps" !!) Blacklisting ? Can anyone still believe that dealers have a mailing list amongst them, confirming who's good and who's bad with them..? Isn't it time to have competition in service achieved ? Maybe that's the next challenge : rep business semm to have drastically developped online (see all the webstores and sellers on cqout and ioffer these days). There are surely exceptionnal buddies amongst them : give them a chance, give them a try. Referring to some posts saying that the dealers made them turn to crappy reps to AAA+ grade ones, well, dealers don't manufacture reps : they sell them and make money with that. Normal step of course. But the actors for replica improvements are definitely the manufacturers IMO. Hand pick your dealer . And when you're not happy with him, try an other one. At the end, there are very good ones. And these are not necesarilly the most skilled or better English speaking : the latter know how to bamboozle you.
  12. I see this OCC a bit like the Cousteau Diver 2006. Many problems at the start that seem to have been solved after a while.
  13. ... the dark side of the Force... Definitely !
  14. Something's missing : my future PAM 243... Can't wait ! Which is funny is that I am more in dressy watches usually. But the superreps and the boards have altered (positively) my tastes... And suddendly I'm discovering I have 5 diver watches... and still go to the pool with my daughter and a Casio G-shock
  15. It seems that the OCC is particularly hit by a severe lack of QC... 2 solutions to avoid disappointment : - obtain the warranty of a QC from your favorite dealer - don't buy it
  16. This morning I received my replacement OCC. So I'm pleased to share a shot of a rarity : a flawless Oris And a quick family shot : feel like diving ?
  17. 4 watches is unforgiveable... And who was that ?
  18. On my first OCC, I also asked for a DW to have it swapped here. Impossible to get. It seems that the factories won't release any spare parts. The other explanation could be that your defective rep will just be reinjected in the sales channel as soo as it reached China, without any fix. With the great probability that someone will live with it. After the 0 defect, we have the 0 loss : both are targets which any factory aims to reach. The rep factories at least have succeeded in the 0 loss challenge...
  19. Hi, got 2 of these. The first was OK but had the reversed SUNday issue. Sold it to a member who was OK with that : avoided a trip back to CN and made someone whose country is too strict with customs happy. The second came this morning : it i apparently in very good condition. Indeed, we heard many issues about this OCC : - DW problem - dust under the crystal - crown popping up - bezel - scratches new the lugs This is too much and the only cure is to ask for a strong QC to your dealer before shipment : who will do that ..? I have asked 2 dealers to make this QC before ordering : one answered "watch is as on the pictures". The other did the QC (including the check of the DW), sent me pictures to at least check for visual defects. He got my order. And that's the way I intend to do business : ask the dealer to do a bit more than "pushing boxes". As always, I'm wondering why we blindly protect those who pretend to do QC, and actually never see or check what they ship : we often hear that "this is exceptionnal, it is one bad transaction out of hundreds..." How can one know that ? Most of the time the complains are never made public. sorry to hear this Ajoesmith, it's always painful to return a watch, even if we know the dealer won't be reluctant on this : loss of time, and often loss of money.
  20. DW font is indeed a topic : I have always understood that the font on reps was too thin. I guess the right size is somewhere inbtweeen... It is true that Hublot mentions red gold, not rose gold. I guess this is the explanation.
  21. Put the new 7750 movement into the HBB (I did not know this movement exists) - low beat : has a (non working regulator) - current hi-beat : has no regulator - new hi-beat (same type as in the Chopard) : has a working regulator Indeed, we are far from what we imagine as the ultimate HBB, but keep in mind that this version should remain affordable. Otherwise there is always the option for Trusty's version. Regarding the CF dial : I understood that this factory has the dial as you saw it in the first pics. They don't have acces to Trusty's dial (an other factory). It will therefore remain smoother than the best CF dial we know... I feel what we saw yesterday is a great improvement against the V2 I tested, and looks much more genuine than the other. Then, for all the suggested improvements, there's a long way I suppose
  22. Looks very much like my Breguet Thank you for pointing this out, conclusiion is that we have a Liaoning 5010. Before this thread, I thought there was only one type of Chinese Tourbillon... How wrong I was !
  23. I noticed a difference between mine and Homer's with the central wheel. It's very noticeable on his Tourbi, I don't see it on mine. Or at least it's not plain.
