  1. Repost from another member. We can relax
  2. It's crazy indeed. I look at people's watches way too much. And think I've spotted a few TC's in the wild. But it's the clasp holes that give it away for me (but you have to get kinda creepy close for that one)
  3. If we're really honest. No-one will notice either. It's just us nitpicking. But IF people look for the fluted bezel wouldn't you agree it's easier to spot a rep, because they know what to look for? Regardless. Nice looking watch!
  4. It looks very decent. Some concerns forum buddies have is that the fluted bezel is too wide/big. So for rep DJ II you're better of going with a smooth bezel Verzonden vanaf mijn iPhone met Tapatalk
  5. Awesome! Dutchies unite! Never been to derikketik before!
  6. No prob. Looks good. How's the dial, sel fit and movement holding up? And where did you do the mods?
  7. looks awesome. Is J12 the same as JF?
  8. So what do you guys think of the JF 116520 ? Here's a nice thread : http://www.rwg.bz/board/index.php?showtopic=94284 In it OP says it's close to gen except for case thickness and lengt of pushers.
  9. I feel you. A 5513 or 16610 works best for me as an everyday watch. That being said I haven't worn a daytona before but it's more 'dressy' than a sub.
  10. Hi guys, Probably been posted before, but a first read for me and maybe for some others. http://www.hodinkee.com/blog/a-vintage-watch-nerds-critical-dissection-of-the-rolex-daytona-past-to-present-part-1-3 http://www.hodinkee.com/blog/a-vintage-watch-nerds-critical-dissection-of-the-rolex-daytona-past-to-present-pt-23 http://www.hodinkee.com/blog/a-vintage-watch-nerds-critical-dissection-of-the-rolex-daytona-past-to-present-part-33
  11. Bummer. Thanks for the info. Time to dig in on some 62xx info
  12. Looks nice. Care to share a wrist shot?
  13. Hi guys, I've always been a sub fan but recently I am getting more and more interested in daytona's! Now here's the 'dilemma'. I like reps and gens, but have a thing for wearing reps that I could also afford in gen form. (Not saying I can easily afford a daytona, but atm I could) - Vintage (DW/Modded) daytona's seem to be the closest to gen without breaking the bank, BUT the gen version of those are $ 30K and upwards easily. - 16520 el primero's are 4-5K (franken) but at that price they are getting closer to the cost of a gen, and I don't know how much I love the daytona (compared to my love for subs) to dish out 4-5K for a franken. - 116520 seems to be off compared to gen. I've read a 116520 JF Factory review with OP being incredibly enthusiastic but in a later response he compared it to the gen and it was off by miles in terms of feel/finish. Is there an in between route? An accurate modern daytona rep, or a vintage rep where the gen isn't $30-50K or maybe a semi-franken 16520? That would be an easier step to get to know the daytona and decide how to go from there. Thanks for your input
  14. [censored].. These are so awesome. I have a full on franken 5513 but that el primero is something else. If not franken, I am going to go gen on this one!
  15. I think my old datejust used to work on a 2892 with a spacer ring. GREAT movement!
  16. Butt ugly. Cool specs but damn that design is shitty.
  17. Gen Bezel Gen Insert Gen Crown Gen Plexi Gen Dial Gen (Tudor) Hands Gen Endlinks MBW Case Unknown Bracelet
  18. Nice watch! Did not know Thomas adds that card now. Nice touch.
  19. It looks really good indeed! Thanks for the pictures! Did you order the v5 bracelet separate from TC, and if so how did you work out the measurements?
  20. Enjoy it! Gen feeling rocks. Not my cup of tea - because of the sparkling - but congrats nonetheless!
