  1. im surprised that nobody has wqrriten a through FAQ in regulating different movements. I have two 7750's that I need to regulate. I googled and ended up on a RWI post that said move the thin long regulation bit clockwise to make it faster and counter-clockwise to make it slower. And that does make sense a lil, but my experiences with both my watches is that the opposite is true. I'm gaining 1 min every 24 hours for both. why is self regulating risky? Isn't it a simple case of pulling the crown out to stop the spinning bit from getting caught by the toothpick, and moving the regulater to the appropriate direction by a hair.
  2. lol, i think by service they mean customer service. because it just wouldn't be economically viable for them to individually swervice waches,, it takes 2-3 weeks to do that.
  3. I figured a tan leather strap would really compliment my charcoal BCE well. I've had some cheap leather straps in the past, and I think it really lets down the watch and makes it look cheap. A high quality leather strap will bring up the appearance of the watch highly methinks. To give you an idea of what I have in mind, here's two gunny straps, I'm looking for something similarly coloured for my BCE My link My link 2 I would like it to be as close to the classic Breitling leather straps as possible, non-embossed, smooth surface, padded, and tapered, with one stitch along on either edge, in contrasting colours. Do such OTC starps exist, or would I have to get them custom made?
  4. The current price delivered is also 120, does that mean that the "very very strong lume and movement with swan neck, dagger pin and Panerai like bridges" was done for you at no extra charge? I have been lusting after the fiddy for a long time now, but the really good quality reps were far too expensive. Wanted to spill out on a DSN fiddy for 460, but this watch looks more than acceptable.
  5. Hi Got seduced by the fiddy. I've seen many high quality fiddies being sold in rwg around $700 price range. way out of my budget. Saw the davidsen is selling them for $460 a pop, high modded and got a lot of work done. Seems like they're as good as the $700 ones sold by members. Do the davidsen fiddies have much work more mods or work done to them? as far as I know they've been pressure tested at 3ATM, superlumed, genuine swiss movement etc.
  6. I bought one, I found it not to be symettrical, and when worn with zip open, I found that one end would stick out more than the other. It looked really bad when I was walking and saw my shadown.. Also because of the enven weight on the collars (one side being longer than the other, and the longer side having the heavier buttons).. One swide of the collar would stand and the other side would lie flat. So I returned it. I exchanged it for This was worse, the fit was terrible, the neck was too big and the jacket dropped down too low, covering my jeans pockets. Not exactly a "biker look". Then I got a refund. The quality of the leather is fantastic, but I think the tailoring may be a bit off.. They do a paticularly bad job of modelling the jackets, they put on a very tight fitting jacket on the mannaquins, which a normal person wouldn't wear, and when dressed on a mannaquin you can't really see the flaws as you would see worn on a person. They have some nice designs I like the look of, but I'm shying away from ordering because of my two bad expereinces last time.
  7. Edit update: Graphite should be replaced by charcoal I have a BCE, I really wanted the blue dial because it's nice to look at in pictures (never actually owned one), plus it tends to look at least respectable on a blued up AR. Where as the blue tint on a charcoal dial looks a bit naff. What do you guys think, does the blue dial look better than charcoal? Now to e second question, my BCE has had some work done on it before I bought it (lello datewheel), and some superlume which no longer look so super. It's starting to show it's age now, having had 2 prior owners. Don't know if this is a servicing issue or a regulation issue, but it's a bit fast (I can't regulate it myself as it has two levers for the regulator, and I've tried but failed to regulate it by trial and error. I qwould like to know is a dial swap feasable (are they easy to do, are dials available much?), and do you think it's worth me just buying a brand new BCE blue, and selling this own, or should I keep it and get work done on it? Eyecandy
  8. I think it's time to consider getting a watchwinder methinks, and I thought Id consult you guys before lashing out. I heard some rumours that apparantly cvheap winders that only turn one way can damage the watch and you need a winder that works both ways and does so randomly rather than you having to choose one or another. I'm looking for a sensible purcahse (my watch value is
  9. Pics taken using a camera phone (k750i to be exact, with bestpic option), will buy another camera at some point, and have to get the k222 AR done. Maybe with correct photographic abilities I won't take such huge losses on me pass-me-down watches.
  10. Beautiful thanks... Very IWC-esque, very nice. I'll buy this if there aren't better suggestions coming.. Under budget too!
  11. Interesting, Italy is a lot more strict I suppose, and honestly I dont want to take a chance. I know that Italian customs are very strict and they are very strict on what comes into the country from china. A lot of chinese ebay sellers, selling legitimate goods don't post to Italy. Here's another stylish casio I've found. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000N2VD9M/
  12. Given that I've been having a lot of trouble with my A7750's thought I'd go the quartz route, not worry about servicing or maintenance. I got my eyes on these http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B001TG9NSO http://www.amazon.co.uk/Diesel-Gents-Leath...s/dp/B001N3IO9M http://www.amazon.co.uk/Casio-MTD-1054-1AV.../dp/B000OHARAW/ http://www.amazon.co.uk/Casio-MTD-1054D-1A...MTD1054D-1AVEF/ Which one would you pick, got other recommendations? Price mark is around
  13. Damn, a gen dial costs like $500 for a breitling chronomat evolution. If you're going to buy a gen dial, does it not make sense to raise up $3000 and buy a gen? Where does it stop after the dial. Superlumonous hands, ETA movment, Gen Bezel, Gen/aftermarket strap, Chief AR, Gen Crown The whole mod thing doesn't make sense to me, I saw someone selling a heavily modified PO for
  14. Me too, I wanted to get a breitling since I got into the rep scene, bit avoided it since My brother has a breitling rep, and I know that after rolex breitlings are probably the second most repped watches around. Being a rebel, I always go against the herd, but I came across a briliant offer from another member selling his modified BCE for dirt cheap. I took the plunge and did an impulse buy, I was halt hearted about it before sending the payment, but I thought, "what the heck, I made a promise to buy and I'm not going to back out now" Now, ever since I've owned it, I've been madly in love with it ever since, the watch is beautiful. Regards to your enquiry, no clue Im afriad.
  15. Thankfully the watch seemed to have reached it's destination and Joshua seemed to have posted me another watch, I'm assuming this is the case because he's sent me an EMS tracking number, saying nothing else on the email. I've sent him 3-4 emails chasing up on the status of the watch since I sent it off, he wouldnt tell me whether he received it or not, he only sent me generic emails saying "NOted Sir, we will look out for your package" Finally after 40 days of sending the watch off, he's posted one back to me, I'd like to say I'm upset, but to be honest, I'm not surprised. I still don't know whether the tracking number he's given me is of the repaird watch I sent over, or a brand new one. I'm reluctant to email him and ask, but I know I'll probably get a better answer if I just wait another 10 days and see for myself. To be honest, I don't want to get my hopes up because there's still another problem of the watch possibly getting tied up in customs, and the fact that I've fallen in love with the Breitling Chronomat Evolution, and I'm not that keen on getting my Graham back. Not to slant Joshua, it's probably not his fault, his communication isn't the best in the world, and is very quick at answering simple pre-sale questions, but when it comes to aftercare and difficult questions he's difficult to communicate with. From now on I'd probably stick with UK sellers and buying from other members of rwg. Given that the prices between Joshua and Eurotimez/Precious are almost rhe same it probably makes sense to stick to UK
  16. Great watch, try and get a mesh bracelet for this
  17. thanks, I know that the chronograph seconds hand and the 3 subdial hands are pinned into a stick the size of the tip of a needle and perhaps that is the case. However in my case, the minutes hand is off and is loose inbetween the chronophrapg seconds ad the hour hand. the whole is obviously a bit bigger, so I'm wondering if this will apply in my case because I'm not really taking out the hands and putting them back in, but rather simple mounting the seconds hand back onto it's place. Got any tips for me regards how to drop the movement? I see 3 screws on the outer ring of the movement, and another 2 or 3 (cant rememebr) on the inner side.
  18. The minutes hand has come off the watch, and is moving about quite freely. I know that the person who I bought the watch from lumed it's hands so it was taken out and put back onto the watch. I've ordered a screwdiver set to drop the movement and restore the hands, I';ve googled on how to drop movements, and learnt how to pull out the stem by pressing the tiny button in the movment, Once I have the screwdiver I should be able to unscrew 3-4 screws around the movment and drop it out. After that I will use the best of my ability to replace the minutes hand (not the chrono minutes but the actual time minutes) Is there anything else I should know about the procedure for replacing the seconds hand, and also how likely is it that the problem is just with the hands coming loose and it's nothign to do with damage on the movment. Thanks
  19. I bought 2nd had parts and built myself a pretty powerful quad core Q9400, ATI HD4870, 4GB ram, modular psu, PC for under
  20. Not a fan of the cyclops, on any watch tbh I think it ruins the look of the dial, and of course overcomplicates making of the rep...
  21. I'm looking to buy a pam 127 I have a BCE and graham diver.. as per sig. WHat I don't want to do is have to send the watch off to other people to get work done as the costs mount. Would prefer it with all the work done from the seller I'm looking for k222 AR gen swiss movement Good lume non-distorting dome where the dial looks consistent from all angles good crown protector as per gen Been staking out the sales pages for a while now, seems like the good 127's fly off in an instant almost. Any good sellers who fit the criteria? or come close to the list above at least? Thanks for reading totalwise
  22. pics are here for people who want to peek http://www.rwg.cc/members/FS-Breitling-BCE...rap-t98287.html I get the feeling that the current strap isn't doing the watch any justice, any recommendations on which strap I should buy for this. Thanks
  23. I had two parcels sent over from china and no issues so far, although I prefer not to buy from there any more, and prefer to buy from other members, as they tend to be better deals (cheapers prices, mods, extra parts etc) If the tracking just stopped working suddenly I'd assume it's just a problem with the website, and does not mean it's been seized by customs. Probably just have to be patient and see what happens in the next few days.
  24. I have the diver, I have to say this model is superb, everything is just right. IMO. The problem with the other models was that the lever sometimes seems to be a bit "off" from the bezel. It seemed like a add-on part to the watch that has been put on aftermarket than an integral part of the overall look of the dial. The trigger is just right IMO. The lever works well with the bezel, and the dial is of course stunning.
