  6. Thanks mate. A pain to do, but worth it
  7. Thought I may as well exchange the 80 endlinks with a set from MQ I had knocking around as I wasn't happy with the originals from Yuki. It's a tricky job but managed fairly well. First I dismantled the Yuki endlinks. Massage the springbar retainer until it can accept gen-spec springbars. Reassemble by slipping the springbar retainer though the MQ endlink. Carefully fold back the springbar retainer around the last bracelet link bar. I masked everything off while doing this, using various screwdrivers and pliers to get everything back in place. So, endlink revision done. Not something I intend to do a again in a hurry.

  9. 1016 today
  10. Thanks Bart. Judging by your fantastic lug chamfering skills it won't be problem for you.
  11. Nice work on those chamfered lugs!
  12. Looks very good. I did buy a couple of 80 endlinks from MQ ages ago, unfortunately they come without the linking component. l almost forgot I had them. They have a better profile than Yuki's. However, it would take someone will skills way beyond mine to sort out the construction to attach them to the bracelet.
  13. Yeap, here's a comparison with the gen:
  14. Reviving and older post. Decided to bite the bullet and give one of Yuki's 7206 bracelets a try on a PCG 5513. On arrival the endlinks looked a little flat, maybe they were stepped on in transit, so not a great start. (The bracelet was in a FedEx envelop without protection, it had been opened by customs – also delivered to the wrong address. I was surprised to see at all.) On to the pics. Endlinks on arrival: As in previous posts, the endlink loops need to be massaged, or more precisely cudgelled into shape to accept gen spec springbars. Here's the result, strap and endlinks still need some final finishing and the bracelet hasn't been resized. Still not 100% sure it suits the watch, profile of the endlinks are probably more suited to a 6538 or 1016.
  15. Just completed, 5513 today
  16. Thanks. A few more in natural light.
  17. Decided to pull the watch together without the pearl for the time being. So here it is, more or less finished on a NATO
  18. Very nice! Thanks for sharing. It makes all the difference when you do your own mods.
  19. Beautiful watch! Thank you for sharing.
  20. Thank you Good luck with your build. I'm just waiting for the Yuki pearl to arrive to finish off, that can take up to 25 days though.
  21. Nice one! I'm lucky if I get socks for my birthday

  23. Well, the ones I've seen recently have been $700+.
  24. Thanks guys The bezel isn't yet clipped back in place, it's just sitting on top of the retaining ring. I guess that's why it looks a little large in the shots. I've ordered another pearl for the Yuki insert – Yuki is kindly sending it for free as the first one went AWOL en route. Customs had opened the envelope (there was a handset and a 7206 bracelet in there too) then resealed it without the pearl! Also looks like the endlinks of the 7206 have been flattend – someone probably decided to step on the envelope! Anyhow, a new pearl is on the way, this time with regular post rather than FedEx, who even managed to deliver to the wrong address (they mixed up the postcode!). A MkIII insert would be great, but is a little over my budget. So the Yuki it will be, eventually
