Lots of Chelsea bashing eh! I first went to the Bridge in 1967 and saw the Chelsea team of Osgood, Cooke, Houseman, Harris, Bonetti etc. I started playing semi professionally and went to midweek games when I could. A bad injury forced me to retire 20 years ago. Up until my move to Spain and a love of all things Valencia (Pablo Aimar still doing it for Zaragossa) I had a season ticket in the East Stand. Please never accuse me or my pals of jumping on the 'Abramovic bandwagon'. My fave era was that of Vialli, Gullit, Poyet, Wise, Lebouef, Desailly, Chapi Ferrer, Petrescu, Hughes and the most under rated Robbie Di Matteo.......42 seconds at Wembley.....what a moment that was, what a goal, all those years without silverware. We left Wembley 3 hours after the final whistle. Todays Chelsea is different, less flare etc. but they win things! I think you will find that Avram will change the style of play....he's under orders to do so. Wait until the January transfer window and he'll bring in his own men...Roman can afford them! For me Arsenal are the team to watch, could give a damn about where these players come from.....they are glorious to see. United are as strong as they've ever been and Liverpool need to be more consistent and convincing. Lovely to see the passion here.....that's what the beautiful game does to you!!! V. Teddy is a great guy but I can tell you he has no intention of managing anyone.....seeing his days out at Colchester right now and heading to a non football rest of his life. Next England manager.......Martin Jol....no, sorry......Jos

At last a mention of Georgie Best. His quotes were great............ 'I've spent most of my money on women and drink........the rest I wasted' Classic!

Keep digging.......your response to the original posting was disrespectful and in bad taste, I've re read it and can't see any forgiveness from V, I may be wrong......why respond at all if that's what you had to say? Pomposity in action....again! Give it a rest.
-
Your disrespect sir is astounding and is only to be expected.....more the shame. V. Hope Dad gets well soon. Enjoyed reading the prayer delivered by a fine man, part of a group of fine men who inspired men and women without whom you and I would probably not be living the fantastic lives we have today.

This nights trip to Turkey wasn't so jammy as the last! No cigar for the scousers this year.......out at the group stage! Chelsea for the cup with big ears this time!

Should watch pictures be treated with Photoshop ?
Emmzy replied to AMK000's topic in General Discussion
Obvious isn't it? Don't enhance photos of a sale/trade item to a degree where they misrepresent the watch for sale/trade. For photo sharing, boasting, bragging and sheer showing off either the finished photo or your stunning purchase/modification by all means use the best camera availabe with the snazziest software. Me, I use my Canon EOS 400D on the 'P' setting with a lot of Spanish sunlight and Picasa 2 irons out my amateurish attempts. My 2 pesetas worth. -
Start Of The Week Wrist-Check (22-23 Oct. 2007)

This today......whirring away every time I move!!! Tomorrow this: Rest of the week my fave......... -
The Omega cost 200 quid in 1982.....it was marked down in a sale but 200 smackers was still quite a lot for me in those days! Companies in the UK still buy retirement watches. Was with a client last week sporting a white J. le C. Reserve de Marche, presented to him on his retirement from BP. What a lovely watch, I'm eyeing up a rep for myself right now........Andrew has an Asian example for only 98 of those US Dollars....just about to pull the trigger. Wearing the gens does make you realise that reps are fun, and I love my reps, but the genuine article no matter how old still smacks of real quality.
-
Thanks V, where would we be now if not for the Caped Crusader? The Omega was bought for about 2 hundred quid from the AD in Guildford and the TAG was my Salesperson of the year award, asked for a nice automatic watch and they got me this.....guess it cost around 500 quid about 12 years ago. Purchased in Southampton. BTW always enjoy your posts, you are some collector!!!
-
I've dug out a couple of my old gens and thought I'd give them some wrist time. The Omega is a quartz.....the bees knees at the time, interchanges with a rubber divers strap by removing the body of the watch with a retaining ring and then slipping it onto the rubber. The Tag is automatic and a steady beater, my local watchsmith services her every 2 years......this watch will last into eternity but now seems so small!

My old Omega Seamaster Gen....off to the beach today, fantastic October weather here in the south of Spain!

I'm afraid that there are a few blatantly gay watches around. These do not include any of the Breitling range. I wear my wife's under garments at the weekend. Does this mean that I am gay? If so please let me know which is the most accurate Panerai that I might be able to buy.
-
That will make a nice change! BTW My Spanish friends 'do' excellent fish and chips...............rosada a la plancha con patatas fritas. I'm introducing them to porridge and sarcasm.
-
Look, I own and wear Pams too, only when I'm alone though. BTW where did you see the fuschia sitching advertised? How much? etc.
-
V. I am Simon le Bon. Is your real name Rio?

Now don't go all queer on us and start talking about straps......wearing a brown one with white stitching today but as soon as I get home it's off with that one and on with the light tan as I'm going to a boys bar tonight, tomorrow I'm going with a black croc as I'm wearing a white shirt and nothing else goes with a white shirt like a black croc etc. etc. On the other hand,as soon as I get home wearing my very heavy SFSO in manly blue on a very heavy steel bracelet I'm going to rip my wife's knickers off...............................they are giving me a rash at the top of my thighs....elastic too tight I guess.
-
Wanna bet? We'll win the cup again through sheer English grit and determination mixed with a little stiff upper lip. Who cares how? we are the champions.....respect where due....I've a feeling SA will make the same mistake as the Aussies.

V.....great avatar of our hero John Terry. Playing with a fractured cheekbone....i've had one of those from a clash of heads on the soccer pitch....it hurts and normally takes 3 weeks to mend at least. JT broke his last Saturday! What a great result tonight. Chelsea are back! ps Sorry to crap on this thread but an explanation of the avatar was needed on this fantastic night for the Blues.

I see that Andrew has a good example of the 127 for sale.

@anton, My dealer would never question this type of problem. I'd send it back and receive promptly a replacement or a repair, either way I would receive total satisfaction.
-
Not good enough really! Taking the plastic off a watch should not invalidate whatever 'guarantee' you have, I use the word loosely! The dealer in question should replace this watch, no question. This is sub standard service from a dealer that has a lot of business put his way by means of this forum. It would be a folly if he didn't replace. So don't go to all the trouble of rectifying his problem....send it back, get a replacement minus flaws or demand a refund and spend it with a dealer that never asks customers to overcome problems that shouldn't exist. (Still trying to figure out how removing the plastic couls possibly have anything to do with a flaw on the dial)

I have an answer...............don't bother buying a watch. Any time she needs the time ask her to call me..... 0034 666 777 999 A simple and very economic answer I'm sure you'll agree, more so if she call 'off peak'

11/14, got to be happy with that.
