  1. It's not a spring bar. They are pressure fit pins. Not a good idea to diy. I suggest you send it to Michael Young.
  2. I got a handy for free, morning of New Years Day. What can I say? I was tired.
  3. I'll start. You will need tweezers.
  4. Disagree with this statement...but whatever. Everyone's entitled to an opinion right?
  5. It appears more and more that the luxury brands are worried about being left behind with the Apple Watch coming out in a few months. I guess market share is always a concern. Sure purists will always favour a mechanical movement, but you just never know how their business could be disrupted. Looks like Montblanc is hoping an e-strap will give their target market the best of both worlds. Personally would never buy a strap of this kind for any of my watches.... But for a student, would this not be a great way to hide your cheat notes on tests? http://www.ablogtowatch.com/montblanc-e-strap-combines-smart-wearable-device-mechanical-watch-timewalker-urban-speed-collection/
  6. I'm convinced that forum is full of boneheads (there are exceptions of course). http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=389532 The 5513 and the 116610 are completely different. Everything about the two are are miles apart. Haven't visited TRF in weeks and that's the first thing I see tonight. Not sure why it bothers me, but it does. Ok. Rant over.
  7. Maxi dial. And lugholes. Couple years ago I built a 16610LV with lugholes. But I used a black insert. Don't have any pics. But the LV prototype had lugholes but never sold to the public.
  8. 38mm is liveable for improved performance. Certainly better than this option, which I briefly considered (until the drugs wore off):
  9. As a comparison, here's a shot I just took with my 14x olloclip and iPhone 6+. While the center focus is ok, the extremely shallow depth of field and distortion on the outer edges really bother me. I might have to give your lens a whirl.
  10. Very nice. Definitely improved field of view over typical loupes.
  11. Ok thanks. There definitely are limits in eliminating chromatic aberrations using small lenses. Here's the best I could do (handheld) with a 10x strapped to my iPhone. Note the ugly CA around the tips and edges of the coronet. Looking fwd to your sample pics cc when you get your new toy.
  12. Is 6x the highest magnification? I typically use 10x and 15x loupes.
  13. I pray for peace and courage to his family and friends. Rest in peace cats. Carpe Diem
  14. you could reposition the feet ... but this is not an easy task.
  15. They were stamped.
  16. Nice. Would it be possible to create the negative of the above? i.e. Mill a stamp of the "engraving" out of a cylindrical metal blank. Then press the imprint into the sterile case back using a heavy duty stamping press. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  18. Phong case, gen tube
  19. I won't get into the issues involved, but installing a gen 8mm tube is truly a royal pain in the [censored]. But I think I now have it right where I want it: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. But I will admit, I am one of those people that like to work with clutter around. I know where everything is surprisingly. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Briefly. I have a couple of other work stations. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Wow. Awesome gift. That looks great. Lot more organized than my home office desk which doubles as a watch tinkering station: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. That's sick. Congrats. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Definitely a problem. Deleted and re installed Tapatalk. Still crashes with any RWG forum. iPhone 6+, iOS 8.1.2, TaT 3.2.1
