  1. Hmmm, well, yes, what ? Speechless in fact
  2. I think your are right But as said, not one genuine version of these could be found for the price of my modest trilogy Even if I finish the project with almost everything genuine
  3. Let's wait for BT to pop in His eye is trained, mine is ...confused
  4. one more question Frank. Could you make a close up pic of the rehaut tickness. BT pointed that it was seriously missing and I agree... What is your opinion ? Cheers Stephane
  5. Wow, Frank. That is interresting indeed. Is PT's same as Josh ?
  6. Guys, from what I have been told so far we should all step back for a while. Pictures aren't the bible... Some of our respected experts are not happy with this new 1:1, super or whatever SD yet...
  7. I am not sure I did read it well, but you must mean "would you go for the flat", right ? The Double Red needs a SuperDome for accurancy reasons. I would not put a Flat on it, nor would I for the Single Red of course. Well, MM told me to be rude with the watches ... the idea being "they are old". I agree with that. I will be rude. Look at Nanuq's watches, aren't they among the most desirable out there? How the hell would it possible to wear a 40 year old watch with no signs of wear, no deep scratches in the crystal? A 100$ daily worn Swatch is looking vintage after less than a month... Well, I am that crazy that I could go for a full genuine parts for this trilogy. But I was stopped by reality: I ordered two genuine super domes and none showed up. Yup, none. That was quite a budget believe me. I cut a deal with the seller and he sent me "one more (he said)" ...we thus cut the costs of the previous 2 loss 50/50. But, at the end, that "spare" genuine super dome costs me a fortune (pls don't ask how much! ). That is why the DR has a Clark and not a genuine. See what I mean? On a side note, I have been lucky to trade a great GMT II lately: it has a genuine dial and insert. Take my word, it looks completely different from whatever GMT II rep is out there. So, some parts are making it all. Anyway, I consider this Trilogy as an ongoing project and as the heart of my hobby. As there is absolutely no chance I could buy one of these anywhere, why not get them as close as possible for the final budget of a genuine modern SeaDweller? Cheers Stephane
  8. I miss him so badly! His guides were so funny. http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=20000&hl=
  9. There is a market I think. I'm no Daytona fan but I really want a vintage badly. I wouldn't go for a 2K though. And of course I would want a reliable mvt (I think Asian 77xx are) and some gen parts if necessary. So, if your question is : 800$ for a already modded (partialy or completely) 62xx, would you buy it ? My answer is YES. Cheers Stephane
  10. @Baltic: superb, I wish mine was working Since yesterday I re-discover the UPO (Sorry no good wrist shot)
  11. I want a vintage ETA 2824 now Thanks Ziggy & TTK. Everything is clear now
  12. Wow Rob. Thanks for this pictorial. Other than the differences in markings, no one else could have spot this asain Eta replica. I guess that we will all open our watches again and compare what is in it to your pictures ! Now, the real question is the quality of these Eta clones! Will they be reliable in the end? I suppose we'll need some time to check that. Thanks for all, Stephane
  13. Monsieur Euno, and Mr TMG: I'm jalous...these are real beauties ! Stephane
  14. wow, that is a pictorial ! It's not the kind of pics Ican take here, in the middle of Europe. Makes me want some air too. Thanks Delta. Cheers Stephane
  15. I understand your feeling BT. It's such a repeated situation: one step forward, two steps back
  16. Seems like we're far away from getting a great modern SD Basically, after reading for hours all the comments here, everything is wrong on this watch...isn't it? :cc_confused: I will proudly wear my 1665 for a while then, maybe next year we'll have a super-ultimate-perfect-improved Modern SD, who knows.

  19. Will try to go Chrono, today at least This one: or or
  20. Good idea BT ! I sincerely think the GMT is very much like the Sub: who has the best GMT ?! I started in june 2006 to buy GMT's. This is a pretty bad one, my first try of 2006 I went for the MBK one, bad too, needs heavy mods that a member is doing for him self now as I traded it. Then of course, Josh's Retro one (which is now in the hands of a very good member of RWG) Finally I was lucky to trade RepAustria's one, with a genuine dial and insert on a Noob Factory base And, finally, I ordered the "Transformer" from BK, which should be on his way to me soon; That order was made before the trade with RepAustria. This means that I will soon have too much GMT Matser II at home It comes with two bezels, Pepsi and Red & Black, just like your's BT Cheers Stephane
  21. Splendid Tanfo. Thank you very much. Cheers Stephane
