  1. Dear All,

I received mine today (will wait for a week before posting a review of course  ).

But I want to let you all know that the bracelet is not using screws but pins.

The design of the pins on one side is looking like a screw but after trying my lovely Bergeon screw drivers, I realized I'd rather use my pin link remover.

Make sure to follow this advice as there no arrows on mine:

Take a pin out: push it out from the non screw designed side and pull it out with your fingers.

Take a pin back in: push from the screw design side and push it back in with ........your finger or nail!

    2 remarks:

    - I don't feel secured with these pins that comes out and in such an easy way.

    - If you intend to order one note that there are not so many links. Make sure to order a spare link if you have very large wrists.

For the rest: it's a beauty.

    Cheers

  2. Best advice is if it is now shut, keep it that way. The Omega reps do not have the sturdiest design on the divers clasp. There are two or three different versions, but a small pinch in the metal is all that is keeping it shut. If you yank on the clasp hard enough it will come open but it will loosen in the process and you might never get it to stay securely shut again. Just be pleased that it is there and leave it at that.

    /Tim

I fully agree. I have 3 Omega with that extension and me too I sincerely wondered what the hell I was suppose to do.

Rather leave it like it is.

    Cheers

  3. Here are(is) the site(s) that I found with a variety of really nice rubber straps.

Evidently they are down for a few days, but nevertheless you can view some of thier selections.

After doing an exhaustive search (hours), I think that they seem to have the best selection of rubber dive straps, at reasonable prices.

  4. Dear All,

I came across this Seiko on eBay for sale by WatchHub, 27$ for the watch and 30 for shipping (in total 44). It looked really nice with that day-date feature.

So, I said to myself, after having a Flik Flak, my son might aswell get a 50$ automatic now.  :brow:

    The second Seiko

Ok, so far everything was cool…only 57$/44 have been spent.

But, of course, he is going to grow and the 32 mm will be to small one day.

So I had to find another one right away, just in case he wakes up and gain 5 years during the night

It's a 38 mm that I got at 86 / 114$. Starts to be serious money now.

    The third Seiko.

    Ok, I must be honest.

The black monster is for me now. Of course my son will get it whenever he want it, after the 38mm one.

I finally decided to buy this monster after seing Pug's pictures, specially with both bands (Rubber and Steel).

Let's see the wrist shot first.

I will not post a lot of pics of the Black Monster.  There are some very nice ones out here as you know.  ;)

Voilà, I wanted to share this with you, that's it.

I guess I'll come back one of these days with my 11 years old daughter's gen Baume et Mercier Linea steel 21 mm that I catched on eBay for 200 only.

    Thanks for looking.

    Cheers

  5. Sql_PL:

I tried to PM but your box was full (after looking at your links on this thread I cannot imagine why). What dealer and when did you get the Patek 24? Looks great as I would like to get for the wife. Is this watch close to the gen? Is gen SS or white gold?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I have the same questions as Jomama...

  6. Hi Joe,

Funny you ask this today. I got mine yesterday for your JLC.

    I sincerely think they're great.

    I picked an IWC one.

Make yourself an opinion here. I shot some pictures of the JLC with Bob's.

I started to polish the case aswell to get rid of the brushed finish...but it's not yet what I want. I'm a newbie in everything, including polishing :2:

    Cheers

  7. What is more annoying to me is the newbie "I haven't got my watch yet and I've been waiting four whole days, this dealer is a liar and a cheat and you all are in on the scam!!" rant posts. Keep it between you and the dealer a month before you start calling people out, is what I say . . .

    - That is what I meant precisely. It's these negative TITLES of posts that I see more and more when hiting "View New Posts" that sometimes makes me close the RWG window and wait for another couple of hours to come back.

What Richard says about negative reviews aswell of course.

    - Pug, I took the Poisson d'Acier as an example of a compulsive buy. Not as a dealer review. My Froglish is my froglish and sorry if I'm sometimes not clear enough.

And yes, everybody here wants you to post as much pics as possible and the quicker the better. :D

    - In general, with the time and experience I learned about compulsivity

I can wait 2, 3 or more weeks to get my order, it doesn't (almost) bother me anywmore.

And, unless a big big problem occurs in the future, I am posting neutral reviews of dealers and positive of members.

    Cheers

  8. That is fantastic advice, buyers should give them a cooling off period so they can look at their new item in a completely objective way before posting a review.

    Ken

Take an example: Pug's SteelFish (or "Poisson d'acier" for Frogs)...

I was about to order it from PT today because I was saying to myself: order now or it will not be available anymore.

[censored]. Business is business. There will be plenty of these available for months.

I didn't yet order it thus.

And, suddenly, today too, I got a mail from PT about a watch I ordered from him and that will be on my wrist next monday.

I don't even think about ordering a SteelFish anymore now. I might do so, but after all my current orders are delivered.

Am I a little sad about not getting the SteelFish like everybody else here ? YES.

What I mean is that we do order and review way too fast because we are enthusiast (which is great) and that we would never act like that in our own professional lives.

    Cheers
