  1. Be careful with those painkillers, especially with your apparent addictive nature :D I had a chest op a few years ago and they gave me some strong painkillers, which I then continued to get from my doctor, neither the hospital or my doctor told me that the tablets were opiate based, to cut a long story short I ended up at the local heroin addicts clinic doing a detox! not a nice experience.

    Sorry to hear Richard.

Seems like all doctors are proposing hard stuff without even saying it's hard.

They should not continue to give them once the op is over.

Minimizing the facts is their usual behaviour and that is wrong.

One said to me that I wasn't alcoholic though I drank alcool every day since 20 years (was drinking in evening time only, but started everyday at 7 PM with "un ap

  2. Dear All,

    I noticed something.

    - When one receives the new long expected watch, the post here at RWG is almost instantaneous.

    - It is often very positive about the dealer.

    - After a while, allthough the first post was positive, one can read a lot of negative comments: "blabla does not ..."

Why not wait for at least a couple of days to post a dealer review?

Just my thought but I am feeling that some of the most respected dealers are becoming less respected these days.

It is thus not helping the community at all to post too fast.

Dealer reviews should be helpfull for us, consumers.

Of course, the same is true for members initially posting bad reviews....

    What is your opinion?

    Cheers

  3. The 6263....

Yes, it is a wonderful replica.

I have the version with the bombproof Seagull ST-19, Venus 175 copy.. And frozen subdial@6 (the Porsche 928 is time-appropriate for the 1982 serial number on this watch.. :) Wear it well!

My goodness, I wish I could get one like that...

  4. I agree with what phoband is getting at: in general any manufacture movement that has something--date, seconds, power reserve etc.--in a "non-ETA" place is probably safe from being repped. I bought the JLC master hometime for that reason--big date @ 4:30.

I too agree: Zenith and JLC have models from around 4k with complications placed completely differently from the eta and so on cn mvts.

They should never be repped, unfotunately. :wounded1:

    Cheers

  5. .....fortunately they are only watches...and nobody loses a limb f you don't get an answer.....:D

Oops, sorry to hear Neil. Sincerely you will get better.

When that is, can you post an update for your buddies of the group buy ? Some of us are getting too nervous about that buy.

It would be a good idea to cool down the thread.

    Cheers

  6. I've also paid weeks ago. TTK inbox is full, no reply to emails.

I'm not complaining, just please keep us updated TTK.

My 2 cents: I paid weeks ago and got a great compliment from Neil about my fast pmt.

For sure I expected that my 3 watches would arrive soon but after a while I realised that not everybody paid.

So, to Falco and all of us that paid weeks ago, we are waiting for others to (finally) pay and make up their mind on which watch they (finally) want at the end of the day.

But, Falco, I agree with you: Neil, you should at least keep us posted.

It's more than frustating to wait, but it's absolutely not nice at all to have no news.

Since I transfered my good dollars for this group buy, I ordered a lot of watches and I'm currently receiving one a day !

    TTK: pls keep us informed.

I am used to deal with very well educated Brits, and it's a pleasure to do so.

    Cheers

  7. The 45 fills my wrist, but does not 'over hang' at all, so I wondered if people thought it would be something I could wear.

I have small wrists to (dont ask what size I have no idea) but I wear Panerai 45mm, Breitlings and a PO 45 and I just feel terrific with it.

You should follow you own feeling !

  8. After looking at quite a few aftermarket strap sites for a rubber or kevlar strap for the Monster,

(I did not like the standard Seiko divers strap) I did find one really nice site in the UK that had some really interesting variations of rubber and silicone divers. The paperwork is at my other computer station..but I will find it and post it asap. Most of the prices were in the neighborhood of 25.00USD

Cool. Thanks. Any Natos ? or is Kevlar = Nato ?

    Cheers

  9. I am very sorry too to hear another sad experience.

    1. I think we all need to follow TTK's and other advice: find a local watchsmith. But that ain't easy at all.

    2. But first, our dealers MUST do QC before they send out our orders. In 100% of the cases it will avoid the problem of sending the watch back as no non functionning watch should ever be originaly shipped of course.

In your situation, you are not faulty, King is because she did not check the watch prior to let it go from China.

It is does normal that a new one is sent to you.

In other situations, like after a year the watch stops, and you decide to send it back to China, it's your responsability.

    Cheers

  10. According to members experiences:

    For a lot of members:

    - No Fedex: vat inspections and thus other queries possible

    For myself:

    No EMS: custom inspected 100%

Hmmm, what about travelling to CN to pick up our watches ourself.

We could organise a RWG "Rep Boat Cruise" and sing all toghether "Love Boat, ...."

    Cheers

  11. I have the same steel/rubber options for my Monsters. When it's being worn with day-to-day clothes, I use the steel. When I'm being outdoorsy, I use the rubber or the NATO.

    I love the choice. :D

    @ Pug

The black monster, I finally got it on eBay today for a reasonable price. Took a while.

Is there a steel bracelet for it ?

I know there is a Nato obvioulsy

    @ All, it's Pugs picture ;-)

  12. What you said so far make sence, all of you.

I think I didn't clearly explained my feeling and decisions though. It must be because my english is froglish ... :o

Who said "Funny things is since the booming of ems, fedex, dhl, ups.....people no longer think the old fashion "REGISTERED MAIL" is safe".

Well that is my point, exactly and I am asking to all the dealers I'm ordering from to use this shipping only since a while.

What I also mean is not that if a watch is seized allthough shipped by registered mail that I request, I will ask for a refund.

I share the risk with the dealer of course and none of the ones I'm dealing with will tell you the contrary.

But, if knowing I only want registered mail and no "courrier", the dealer is shipping with a "courrier" then, sorry, but I will ask for a refund.

Again, I will not post my negociations with my dealer here of course; it's our private business and not a public matter.

But I sincerely think that if I ask for a cheap & safe way of shipping, it should be done that way.

After all when I order a MontBlanc, I'm not ordering a Panerai, am I? Shouldn't be different for shipping.

Narikaa: "And regd Air Mail.....is negated by the perverse obsession of most peeps wanting 'by the minute' tracking!!!!"

Yes, you are right on two things:

    1. shipping from UK is safer (sorry for the CN only based dealers).

    2. customers that want instant tracking will get their tracking toghether with the risk of being inspected much more often than if they patiently wait for a couple of weeks and use registered mail.

So, please fellows, do not missunderstand me.

I will never fight with any dealer or ask for refund (even partial) as long as my request for registered mail is fulfill. If a dealer does not want to ship that way, he should let me know, and that's it.

My only statement in this thread is: good old registered mail is inspected 1 time out of 100. "Courrier packages" are inspected probably 25 times out of 100 or more.

EMS in the countries where the main postal service is owned by the state is inspected 100% of the time if it comes from CN with a low value declaration like electronic parts, 25$. That is how I experienced it in my country.

Hope I did clarify what I meant and, on top of this, help some of you to make a desicion in the choice of shipping.

    Cheers

  13. Hi All,

Please do not ask me who's the dealer, I won't say.

It's a private matter and I feel like I must NOT share my problems with you.

However, there is one thing I must share, it's our community that must be protected after all and thus be aware of what is going on: my visit at the customs.

The country where I am is not important. I'm in Europe.

In France EMS is Chronopost, in Belgium Taxipost and so on.

EMS is nothing else but the state postal service.

I received TNT, Fedex, DHL packs from China or Singapour without any problem.

But, suddenly, my China watches coming thru EMS were seized.

I was asked to go to the customs to declare why I bought fake watches.

I tried to be as friendly as possible with the guy and he started to show me his files of the day, some replicas aswell...nice atmosphere thus.

In the files he showed me, there were waybills. Ok, now were these waybils from Fedex, Tnt , Dhl, ...NO

I can assure you that 100% of the 10 files I saw were EMS sendings.

So, my conclusion is that the state (customs) work with the state (post) very close.

I thought I should let you know that for me, only registered airmail will be accepted.

If a dealer persist to ship something using any kind of trackable delivery (Ems, Fedex,...) and the item is seized, I will always claim 1000% of my money back from now.

    Cheers
