  1. I am in Europe / UK and may be getting something from silix and may host it, but have no idea of shipping fees outside of the UK.

    Hi Chronus, Hi All,

I tried to PM you but your box is full.

As I see there are a lot of EU based members wanting that rubber strap, and the gen costs a fortune, I think someone should take the head of a mini group buy.

I would do it with pleasure but I do not know Silix and have no idea on how to handle this.

But again, on line you can find this:

    98000145

NEW OMEGA SEAMASTER PLANET OCEAN XL 22MM RUBBER STRAP

    IN STOCK @ 375 US$

So Chronus, to simplify the procedure I would suggest that we talk in EUROS and about shipping in the 25 countries of Europe ONLY by registred mail signed for receipt. The cost should be somewhere around 5 or 6

  2. yes the centre of modern case backs are brushed ... sorry about that i was in vintage mode... the Cgs tend to be polished ( to a mirror finish) as are the case sides ... as for modern oyster bracelets ... i am not entirely sure what is accurate- i know on my gen Date Just that they are polished . sorry

    Thanks for that.

There are so many Oyster Bracelets...hard to say which one is supposed to be on a 16610.

Anybody else an idea about that: should the sides of the links be brushed or polished on a 16610 bracelet ?

  3. Seeing the etched crown at 6'o clock would definitely convince me it was a fake.......!

Oh yes, they are never "perfect"

I also remove the sticker from my Rolex so that they look less fake :whistling: .

Now, Cool-Arrow is right: only guys like members @ RWG or Rolex fans and ADs can spot differences.

I currently have 4 subs here.

    None are the same.

The best one currently, including for the price ? TTK's MBW, no doubt this one is the closest to the gen I've seen so far.

Cool-Arrow: if you like subs, you should get an MBW.

  4. what the [censored] are we doing...aren't we supposed to be human beings ?

I didn't want to open this thread.

    But I did.

And now I feel really sad.

Let's be sweet to each other while we have that great opportunity to be alive.

We are alive. Not everybody we cherished is.

Let's have a thought for the famillies out there.

Give peace a chance said John.

    Cheers and love,

  5. hi Keyhole,

on a SS Sub the sides , case back, and Cgs are polished ... rest of the case is brushed ... ( unless it is 5517 where the case is completely brushed with the execption of the case back) :-)

    Rag9fx

    Hi Rag9fx,

Thanks for this but some more questions as one cannot find gen detailed pics of each 16610 sub out there:

Case back : isn't the center, where the sticker is/was, brushed ? I always remove those stickers at some point as they scream FakeFakeFake...So my subs are brushed under the sticker. Is this correct ?

Band: I read somewhere on RWG that it was fully brushed but the sides of the links are supposed to be polished.

    Cheers & thanks,

    Stephane

  6. As much as I love to encourage people to DIY - I feel that more often than not, people get a little too adventurous...

    good luck with it.

    :thumbsupsmileyanim:

TeeJay: I'm reading your threads with a lot of pleasure.

But this one is quite surprising.

Why dont you post questions and pics before you start to regulate ?

    Good luck and enjoy though.

    Cheers

  8. Didn't I read the following statement very often here: "do not buy at once; sit back, relax, wait for a couple of weeks to read reviews first". :whistling:

Sounds like these screws suck. :black_eye:

I remember having seen my first Hublot watch around 25 years ago in San Marino (Italy's Monaco or so) and thought it was a nice looking watch.

But that one was far away from looking like this BB.

Kind of classic and timeless which is not the case of the BB.

I think the original poster is right: it's all about hype.

My understanding: Hype means "trendy for the moment" thus "It will not last, because it's Hype".

    My 2 euro cents.

    Cheers
