  1. Dear All,

A while ago I posted a thread about My 8 years old son's Seiko collection.

My daughter said: why don't you post my watch first Daddy?

So, of course, I must show you her watch otherwise she could be very angry at me.

You know how it is between sister and brother…

    During the year 1996

My daughter is born in 1996.

At that time I decided to offer a watch to my wife to celebrate our first baby.

I got her a Baume et Mercier Linea Steel 25 mm.

    During the year 2006

Browsing eBay, I saw a Baume et Mercier Linea Steel 21 mm was offered.

I first said to myself that I do not have enough cash to get such a pricy watch for my daughter.

But, still, I thought it would be cute that my daughter received the same watch as her mum, 10 years later.

So, I decided to enter the auction.

Nobody seemed exited about that watch.

    I won it.

    Yipeee.

    Even more cute

Well, have a look at the pictures.

The watch was originally bought by a Brit girl in Geneva's airport.

Cool to have a Baume et Mercier that comes from Geneva.

She originaly bought it in 1996.

So my daughter has a watch from the year of her birth.

    Yipeee II.

    Thanks for reading,

    Cheers

  2. Hi all,

I'm back home after my second live test on the radio (remeber, after 12 years off air)!

The good news: they did not fired me after the first one of last week :thumbsupsmileyanim: .

    About the second one ?

I was still feelling stressed and I'm not sure they will let me do the 3 other live tests... :wounded1:

Now, I don't get it: I was live during 18.000 hours from 1980 till 1995 in FM.

Why the hell am I so stressed in 2007.

Oh, yeah must be because this radio is the most listened in my country :Jumpy: .

Anyway: I loved it and wanted to share this with you guys!

    Cheers

  3. Very surprised if people jump at this.

Just ordered mine from Neil. Staying away from the twins until an explanation and an apology is posted.

I had a PM exchange with a valued member in the last 15 minutes and said something like this:

Rather pay an extra xx $ to make sure:

    1. Quality is top quality

    2. Delivery is safe

We are all in various businesses aren't we ?

Whatever level: presidents, general managers, senior blabla...

We should all know that it is simply impossible to sell the same merchandise for 20, 25, 30, 35 % less.

Simply inpossible. It means: less quality or less service. If not, then it means bankrupcy (sorry I have no idea of how it should be spelled).

So make your choice. Quality or ...

I choose TTK (or would have piked up PT'one if I wasn't in business with Neil already).

218$ does not speak to me at all.

Ems speaks to me = custom seized => 90% of the time in my country.

Delay: I prefer to get mine in a month than get mine seized within 4 days.

My 69 cents (sorry for being horny).

  4. I think the watch looks good, but I honestly thought it was an alternate variation of the Noobmariner. I was shocked when you said the price was $400+.

I learned my lesson already with the overpriced YM that I bought. I got two of them, one for me and one for a gift. The one I got for me I thought what the heck, I paid the double price for the "serviced" YM for myself. They were purchased on two seperate orders, and I was amazed when I compared the two. The non-serviced watch keeps better time, has a better dial, and the cyclops is better positioned. I would have thought that the serviced watch would at least have been QC'd better than the regular version. Never again.

    /Tim

    Thanks Tim for your reaction.

It is what I want to point: high price is not a waranty of high quality.

Let's all bear this in mind, specially newbies.

  5. another good thread.

Stephane, i just want to say i really appreciate the time and effort you take to give back to the board. You seem to find value in almost every purchase and transaction to share with members, good and bad. Most people don't realize how much time and energy it takes to shoot watches write up posts, crop the pictures, put them online. Its not a 1-2-3 deal. So, i just wanted to say your time and effort do not go un-noticed.

    Pho,

From the bottom of my heart: thank you!

    Cheers

  6. Dear By-Tor and HighDef,

Thanks for your comments. I hope we'll have others aswell.

That is the only reason I posted this watch. I appreciate when By-Tor says "selling that watch for $458 and calling it "perfect" is laughable. This info is indeed valuable"

Sorry to say: it is not "perfect" it is "ultimate" :bangin:

I did NOT buy this watch. It's a compensation I received for problems I faced with Andrew's dropshipping.

When asking for this watch I sincerely thought this could be a good exercice to add some information to the mytic "Who has the best sub".

Again, my only purpose is to SHOUT as loud as possible for newbies or possible older members that are not yet sure: there is no perfect sub rep.

    Cheers & thanks again,

    Stephane

  7. I see no enthousiasm for this watch at all.

No posts from our usual Rolex experts either.

So basically it means this sub is just an average one.

Well, Bklm is right when mentionning 458$.

It doesn't really matter why I have this watch in my possesion, but it is an Ultimate Sub from Trusty.

This watch costs 458$ + shipping, which is thus around 130$ more than an MBW from TTK's group buy.

The reason why I said it could be of interrest for the community is that it might happen that a newbie thinks that the price to get the best sub rep possible must be very high and thus buy this one. I think it's nice to have this information on RWG.

As I do not think I have enough knowledge to review this watch, my purpose posting it here is collecting experts comments.

It would be great to have a mini-review.

    Cheers

    Stephane
