  1. It's one of those josh's $188/ruby's/andrew's $458/silix's/angus'/king's. The date window is too large and squarish, its position is too far to the right along with the cyclop, and the cyclop has too much magnification. The worst part is the overly conical rehaut, which gives the illusion of deep rehaut. This one has an insert with a bulging pearl while most of this models have flat pearl, but still not the correct recessed bulge. The number font on the insert is too bold also. The CGs needs sanding on the inside. The bezel teeth on this model is better than that in the noobmariner camp. So is the crystal gasket (nice and thin). All in all, it's really just an average sub rep, nothing like the MBW or TW Best, far from the gen. Pardon my honesty.

You are forgiven, but not forgoten...who knows.

Thank you very much for that comment which is indeed interresting.

    <_<

  2. Ok agreed it is very nice but I do recommend caution if you have any intention of promoting any off board dealer.

    Ken

    Ooops no, not at all.

I will not promote anything at all. I have much more other things to do and would never be unfaithfull to the board.

I'm not saying where it comes from because I only intend to have your opinons guys and gals.

Pls see this as a straight question: what do you think about this watch!

  3. Dear All,

Please forgive me for posting another pictorial of a sub.

Here are my reasons to post:

    1. This watch was delivered to me this morning.

    2. I am very impressed as I compared it to my other subs (rep), side by side.

    3. I will not tell you where it comes from yet because that is not the point.

    4. I would be delighted to have as much comments as possible.

    5. I am not trying to trick experts at all.

    6. It's out of the box, no mods of course.

I'm serious, and I think this is of common interest, and I promise to say why later.

    Cheers

  4. Congratulations: You're now an adult. :thumbsupsmileyanim:

    Exactly !

 sorry to say, but being 46, I feel I may say that it's very hard for a man to understand the woman he is currently dating.

Most are looking for "Le Prince Charmant" and his wallet if you look like a "jet setter".

Older women have already experienced so much boys in they life that they eventualy want to make sure the man is not looking for a "Princesse Charmante with a good wallet" !

As usual: experience makes the difference ;-)

  5. Ah, what a fine bunch of gents we have here. I am honored to know you all! Here's another mention of a piece of really good news

that happened recently in Chez Nanuq ... my son earned Eagle Scout and I was honored to present it to him. Truly a highlight of my,

    and his, lives.

Congrats Nanuq: boys are so important to fathers. Let's cherish our son!

  6. wow, thanks for sharing guys -- great idea stephane -- it is a good reminder that life is not all about watches (what a sad life it would be if that were the case). sometimes we get so caught up in this stuff it is necessary to take a minute and remember what really matters.

    deltatahoe

I'm more than happy with the good news I read here this morning.

I hope we will continue as it puts me in a very good mood !

Sharing so important events such as "illness is gone away" "I love my kids" "My wonderfull family got me a great gift today" ...that is so sweet!

@DeltaTaHoe: you are so right, there are so many things that REALLY matters and that does not cost a penny.

    Have a good day everybody!

    Cheers

  7. Hi All,

Panerai is not what I'm really in but as I have two bad ones (but two nice boxes, some docs and catalogues), I want to fill the boxes with two accurate watches.

The ones I like at the moment are here under and I would like to get your opinion for the date one and your advice on the FER one aswell.

As the times are hard with the cartel that were supposed to bring new "correct date font and mag", I will not commit to buy anything without some of you, experts, telling me which two ones I should have.

The one I have are here

    Daylight

    http://www.rwg.cc/members/Panerai-Daylight...All-t21300.html

    1950

    http://www.rwg.cc/members/Panerai-1950-Som...All-t21293.html

Someone suggested that some collector would pay a fortune for this one ???? :animal_rooster:

    The one I like are

    Examples from Panerai.com

    00048 or 00164

    and

    FER000002

What exactly I look for ?

    - For sure, they must have a date ! ;)

    - No chrono

    - No GMT or other complications

    - I would prefer leather straps (but of course that can be bought later)

    - Accurancy as opposed to modifiable (I'm not into mods at all)

What I hope to get from you ?

    - Precise informations and possible links to the ones you recommend.

    - Possible sales proposals if you want to get rid of yours.

Many thanks in advance for helping a noob to start with two nice pams. :D

    Cheers

    Stephane

  8. Dear All,

Although I am chocked, as most members are, with the "dealer lies and scams" situation  , I think we should from time to time take a break and stop reading a hundred posts (if not a thousand) of bad news.

Because I had a very good news myself today, after a very bad evening yesterday (reading all the crap that happens with some dealers  ), I'm sincerely hoping some of you will post a positive feedback of what happened in their life lately.

It may sound very childish and optimistic :whistling: , but at least it gives me a break :D !

    Anyway, we'll see:

Either some posts happen and my hope for a nice and friendly bubble will be fulfilled  or none posts come and at least I will have tried.

    So, I'll shoot first.

    My personal good news:

My first radio show as a presentator/dj was 27 years ago :2:. My last one was 12 years ago :bye2:.

Today, after 12 years Off Air thus, I got the final confirmation that my demos were good.

So, tomorrow, I will be On Air for a live test on the biggest radio of my country and hopefully, if everything goes well, I will be back in FM for a while. :thumbsupsmileyanim:

    Cheers

  9. just one more thing: I have ordered like 9 subs so far (from wich some MBW, about to get a TW whatever best, an ultimate...).

Put the money together and sum it. I would have a (or a couple) gen for that price.

So, why the hell am I doing this if not only as a hobby of collecting bloody fakes.

The least I can wait is good communication isn't it ?

  10. And you realize the movement in it is not an ETA 2892 as was advertised correct???

Yeah I realise after PT told me...

I was very exited about getting a 2892 watch (and so was Rob) but it didn't happen and I was told clearly.

No [censored] about: it's a kind of 2892, blabla, only "it is not a 2892".

Should always be like that guys.

Imagine if AjoeSmith sold me a watch and described another one, or such thing about my latest aquisition from Pug would happen ?

Come on, when you buy, sell or trade, you clearly know and hope it's for multiple shots, not for a one shot is it ?

  11. Hi,

In addition to what has already said, here my 2 cents: there are 2 range of prices for "starter" Subs: 100$ and 150$.

I got one as noob from Paul Wo-Mart (he is in the dealer section or on his website http://www.wo-mart.com/) and paid 149$

The difference is the movement. The Asian 21j (in 100$ subs) is good but the Eta is much better (in the over 100$ ones).

You can see the actual watch I bought here too http://www.rwg.cc/members/My-So-Called-Bes...00--t21180.html

Now, depending on where you are (if in EU might be better to buy from Precious Time or TTK as they can ship from UK) and the budget you want to spend, you can go as high as 458$ for an Eta Sub (which then is not a Noob anymore obviously).

But for 50$ difference, choose the ETA one, I'm sure everyone here agree with this.

    Cheers

    Stephane

  12. Hey. You should really edit your Post as to Andrew's shipping methods!!! Please don't spoil it for the rest of us :wounded1:

Do not worry about your tracking. Andrew says on his site under the FAQ section that if your watch has not been delivered after 21 days, contact him and he will investigate. The quickest I have had a watch from Andrew was 9 Days. The longest wait was 4 weeks. Relax... :thumbsupsmileyanim:

The quickest for me was 4 days. The longest is, hmm... not yet arrived since more than that ;-)

    Shill out.
