Considering the pics I posted of my watch above, I assume this is a rhetorical question. No. It took 2+ years just to locate all of the parts, which required the committment of alot of time, effort & money. I have no plans (or interest) to do it again. Most of the hard-to-find parts came from indy watchmakers that I found either by word-of-mouth referrals or by simply asking every time I found myself in their vicinity (it never ceases to amaze me how many rare Rolex parts some old watchmakers have gathering dust in their parts drawers ). By far, the easiest route would be to bite the bullet & pay the price for 1 of these pre-assembled frankens. If you do, be sure to factor in the cost of having it professionally overhauled by a proper watchmaker upon receipt (you would not believe some of the [censored] I have seen banged together inside watches coming from these aftermarket parts sellers - all of them). If you choose to go the diy route, you can search out my Phase II construction threads as a guide. They contain all the info I gathered along the way.

I have found a picture of it somewhere. It's the 1675 with a white dial and PAN AM engraved caseback. The reference should be 6542 if I'm not wrong. Ingod has a very beautiful white dial but it will only fit a gen movement. I HAVE to have this watch!! Anyone willing to share any knowledge on where to source parts for this compelling new project? Thanks in advance for any feedback

It can go below that but that's uncommon around here. Usuallly it does not get colder than -1, -3 at worst.

This piece is wonderful. Were it not for the fact that I currently have my (gen) 000 and 183 up for sale because I can't stand "wallclock-like" watches anymore, I 'd be tempted to ask you to build one for me... great job you did there!! -

Nah! You need a REAL occasion to get THAT drunk... this is just an object after all... Let me know if you succeed in getting over the matter otherwise on Monday I can check with the chinese guy if he offers iPhone 5 replacements already and what's the price of one.

Hey Z! Sorry for the [censored]... One of my associates has been cracking his iPhone 4 screen and rear panel four times in total. The chinese sweatshop around the corner has been swapping the broken panels with brand new (not original) ones for 60 euros. I have been using this iPhone for some time and can tell you that the only difference between the real thing and the chinese replacement is that the original screen is sligthly brighter and crispier. Nice pictures. Please PM me in case you should be willing to see your collection shrink through parting from the nice 1016 I see there. I'd be very interested.

Hi all, A newbie here and (at least I hope), a polite and educated person. I agree 100% with all the things that have been contributed so far in the thread. I nonetheless would like to point out that as a newbie in your wonderful forum I myself have been experiencing arrogance and ignorance only, it did not come from another "noob". This is to say that in my (humble) opinion we basically all are nice and kind but there are good days and bad days for everyone. It takes a *lot* of strenght to go through anything and everything and still find the will to smile.

I think that the definition "great guy" better applies to the individual which crafted these beauties! Can't wait to wear this on my wrist...

Thanks for commenting and advising LH. I have had a pretty smooth transaction with Andrew and I am 100% positive that I have been getting this dial version because when I ordered he was fresh out of alternatives. That said the dial is not bad at all, it needs a lot of added cred which will be obtained through reluming and aging. The lugholes are perfect as they will accept gen springbars. For what is about fiddling with the crystal... as I reported above I think I have done enough damage to this watch which, hopefully, is not beyond repair; I am not going to put my hands back on it but rather will ship it to someone which is able to fix and mod it at the same time.

Thanks a lot. I'm not going to attempt anything else on this watch, I already have done too much . But the link is nonetheless very interesting and instructive.
