    Uni results

from the choices IWC all the way but as 3384danny says go for a gen, after all you deserve it!! check out pmwf.com for some cheap yet quite cool watches ohh and well done on your results i get mine on the 17th of august, dreading it!
  6. thanks for the info Volker! BTW my strap arrived today but the spring bars included are too thin and slightly too short to hold the strap in place so my other option is the spring bars that were from the watch itself but it looks as if its going to be a tight squeeze and im concerned that i might not be able to get the fat spring bars out of my rubber strap, if anyone has any ideas or a solution help would be appreciated!
  7. some great pics there, actually the first thing after resizing it was go to the gym and take a swim with it, i frickin love it!
  8. wow that straps just cool, at this rate I'm going to have spent more on straps then i did for the watch! the watch arrived today! (9 days from Singapore to the UK) just going to nip in town and get it resized i really should invest in a re-sizer! thanks for the continued advice, more is always welcomed!!
  9. thanks for the advice, i really like the rubber oyster aswell, i think i will get that and a cheap NATO/ZULU, i just love changing straps on my watches, people always think you have more watches... btw i got my rubber strap from here https://www.thorntonwatch.com/ and if your quick they have a sale on, plus an extra 25% off if u email them first heres a link http://www.pmwf.com/cgi-bin/SalesForum/web....cgi?read=69942, however it says the 25% off is no longer in effect, but its gotta be worth a shot!
  10. hi, i just bought a black monster on the bay, so i guess this would be my first mechanical gen! i cant wait for it to arrive but then i got to thinking i don't want it on the SS band it comes with so i have nipped over to PMWF.com looking for straps and bought an f1 rubber strap similar to the ones on an Oris f1 style watch, but i think i'm going to have buyers remorse when it arrives so i thought i would ask around for some advice on some good yet relatively cheap straps for the watch, leather rubber or metal will all be considered and pics would also be a bonus. Thanks for all advice
  11. thanks for that, since you mention the 7740 is a 7736, would it be possible to use a 7736 and modify it? or use another movement, like a 7750, hell i think i would even go quartz in there for a while if it would fit, until i could find a proper movement anyway! thanks for your help, and just so you dont think im lazy i did try googling it but all i could find out was that it was made in a collaboration but i couldnt find any prices or stockists but again thanks!
  12. hi i was wondering if anyone could source a working movement that would fit in a gen case, pult or transocean (1960's era), so either a 7740 or breitling cal 12. the reason i ask is that i have seen a couple of NOS cases and dials near me and was wondering if it would be worth going for, i have never been a breitling fan before but the case and dial is about $250 and really good condition, but after a quick google i cant seem to find any movements, or if they are too expensive if another movement would work instead that would be good! any recommendations would be greatly appreciated Thanks in advance Ben
  13. some of that dark lume people are creating would be pretty good on this watch!

    Cortebert

hi i have a friend that can get his hands on a broken Cortebert cal 534 that doesnt work (hes described it as winding ok but not engaging) so i have two questions, would this fit in ANY pam case to create a vintage pam and is it fixable, if you could respond as quick as possible i would be greatful as hes coming home in the next couple of days thanks Ben
  16. shame that the 6 and 9 both look like 8, or am i just mistaken??
  17. thats cool, also whats the maximum i should spend on these movements and is there anything in particular i should steer clear of? TIA
  18. is Portugal really the place to pick up a cortebert, i'm going there this year (couple of weeks away now!), if someone can give me a list of the places to look and the cals that are good for vintage pams i could happily spend a couple of days on the hunt. and if i found more then one i would sell the extras on here, so any help is appreciated!
  19. Yeh i saw it too, some beautiful watches on show, i went back and took some screenshots of turtles watch maybe you guys can figure out what hes wearing. hmmm, i dont know why the other came out so small! nevermind!

    PO Broken?

could it be the rotor scraping against the case? what is the best (cheapest) method for removing the caseback? is it counterclockwise to remove it?

    PO Broken?

hi , i bought a PO (3rd gen?) from a member on trc last week, and i can hear what i assume is the weight that generates the power, sorry i don't know what its called moving around, at first i thought this was normal but over the week it has become louder and sounds as if its looser, however the watch is still ticking and for what i can tell keeping good time. so my question is, is this normal or should i get someone to take a look at it before it possibly causes some long term damage to the movement? Thanks everyone Ben
  22. is this one ok? http://www.cousinsuk.com/default.aspx?disp...roductid=437833
  23. try cousins uk i think the websites something like www.cousinsuk.com hope it helps!
  24. that one on the 'bay is nice looking but i think with out the heuer logo it is just missing that something special, but if we could get some vintage reps going that would be pretty sweet! i guess we can dream cant we
  25. are there any others i really like the black dial, but there are a few flaws with it, especially the buckle and the sub dials look a bit small
