  1. I found the snowflake dial to be an efforless-wear beater, even with incorrect hands, I can't wait to finish mine... No prizes for guessing what I'm wearing today
  2. Panerai 127. After aquiring one, it became one of the favorites in my collection, sadly, the watch smith took so long to service the movement, by the time I got the watch back, it no longer felt like my property
  3. Emily's favorite is my 1655, my best friend Nicola's favorite was my 029a... One watch I no longer own, and the other I'm not so keen on wearing
  4. Fantastic project, it looks great Nothing like a little custom work to stand out from the crowd
  5. Pretty slick, isn't it The one I posted first was just a poor-man's version of that one, I just couldn't find the pic of it yesterday I only knew about them having seen Nic Cage wearing one in Bangkok Dangerous
  6. I have this one, and it's also quartz (not at all high-end though) Originally, it did have a second hand, but, during the process of luming the dial and hands, well, accidents were made, things best not spoken of really Anyhoo, it now has no second hand... And, because it's quartz, there's no 'heartbeat' to pick up on while wearing it, so impossible to tell if it's actually running or not (other than the time eventually changing...) To be honest, for that very reason, wearing it really creeps me out Yet by very contradiction of that, I have no problem wearing my Daytona case, which not only has no hands, but no movement either:
  7. I would also recommend the GMTIIc simply because the bezel can also be used as a timing guide, so that's an extra feature which the Explorer II cannot perform
  8. This would be another suggestion... Ventura V-Tec Sigma
  9. Only joshing, amigo It looks fantastic, and the strap really complements the watch Congrats on the new bracelet If you ever wanted to build a sterile homage watch, you could always put your existing bracelet to good use with that
  10. That's not a DSSD! Only joking, absolutely fantastic watch and strap combination
  11. Wow, that is one interesting watch
  12. It's a tasty piece for sure, and a design classic The thing which made me wonder about the possibility of a movement transplant, is that on the reps, the crown is at the 3 position, and seeing the date window at 6, it got me wondering about if the movement mght fit to the Monte Carlo dial
  13. This is the thing which I think is nice about reps. The one I listed above may be wildly inaccurate to any genuine model made by Rolex, but, it looks like a nice watch in it's own right
  14. :thumbsupsmileyanim: I just had an idea... Would the movement from a rep Monaco, be a compatible transplant into a Tudor Monte Carlo?
  15. I thought you might appreciate that one As you say, a decent leather strap, and it'd definitely look the business
  16. Not exactly a rep, but this is pretty cool
  17. That's what I like to see
  18. Thanks, this was the one in particular I was thinking of
  19. The second hand has always been the weak point in any work I've done... If something's going to go wrong, it's when I get to the second hand /
  20. Personally, I don't like it... I think the fluted bezels look better on a jubilee rather than presidential bracelet, and the dial looks like it should be a 'classic' stick marker dial, rather than modern markers... I think there are much nicer DDs and DJs out there, but, as with everything in this game, it is all a matter of personal taste It I could have an ultimate Rolex dress watch, it would probably be a black-dialed vintage Cellini... Another option I would go for, would be the black-dialed 'mystery' DJ, but I'd add a decent leather strap rather than the bracelet... As above though, it's all a matter of personal taste, and that's just my .2c
